Hey Eric! Yes, those raised gravel squares are for tents, gets them up out of any water & provides drainage for the immediate area around the tent. I have a solution for your ‘do I get a magnet or a patch’ scenario...if you see a patch you really like, buy it and glue a flat magnet to the back. Enjoyed the Loop!
When I first started watching you it was because of the quality of your videos . But after all these years I think the other part of that equation how much you enjoy being by yourself ! You are still my number one TH-camr.
I've got to say that this loop has been one of my favorite road trips that you've taken. Great views, beautiful scenery and decent accommodations. I'm looking forward to seeing those sights myself soon. Glad to know the right time of year to go visit now.
Cascade Loop is CLOSED during the winter. Snow fall & melt off determines closing date & when it reopens in spring. It's closed due to heavy snowfall & avalanche conditions. Fall colors make a gorgeous colorful trip too! 💕

My wife and I really enjoy your adventures with Jax. You have been an inspiration to us. We are in the planning stages of going full-time within a year. Maybe we'll run into you out on the road and buy you a barley pop and some 'nip for the Jax man.

Yes, they are tent pads. It so tent stakes don’t damage the grounds. As well as (hopefully) lift up the tent floor up off the ground from flooding. Thank you for your videos and Cascade journey! Can’t wait till it’s my turn ❤️

Every time I watch one of your videos I always think back to your very first video when you were sitting there in a jacket and cap in your van And you looked very uncomfortable talking about your new life. Years later you have pretty much created an entire industry because I think it all the other people that make these videos they are after your initial video and I’m telling you people love to watch these videos. I actually had withdrawal symptoms when you switched your uploading from two days to three days. I really love watching all of your videos because we can live vicariously through you. Awesome trip Eric. Thx for taking uas along! Started full time in my 1st rv 4mths now. Takin it slow and lots of back roads. Not a tuber but enjoy watching videos and takin notes on where i want to go.
Great road trip info! That loop sure is beautiful. Just got back from hwy 101 by the Olympics. Found a nice place right on the Pacific. Stayed right on the beach. Camp host was a irritating lady but the campers were nice people. No reserve, first come, first serve. First night we came in late was booked up, found a free spot. Next morning grab a unubstructed view of the Pacific. What a sight & sound. Had up to 8 amps of solar( 3-4 average) no trees. Mostly cloudy, not bad. Dont have a generator, dont like the noise. A second lithium battery is on it's way for storage! Might check out that index are Deception falls. $18 bucks no hookup, better that Anacortes $21. Happy trails!
