21:05 PREACH Ben Johns! The Vulcan ball absolutely sucks. The moment I hit it I hated it. I understand that they are big sponsors but holy hell, how can you screw up a basic plastic ball so badly. Just go back to the Dura 40 or the Franklin. Ben Johns even knows that the PPA is being run by clowns. "Make it a real sport" 100% Agreed. Don't worry Ben, Asia is picking up the slack and will carry pickleball to it's true potential as an international sport.
This happens in tennis too, all tennis players have been complaining about the constant ball changes. It’s all about the money and which ball company pays to most to promote their balls. It’s too bad that it’s a trash ball right now. Franklin X-40 are the best balls hands down.
He hasn't had fun in a very long time. To be at the top for such a long time, it takes a toll on you. Ben could have beat Roscoe pretty easily, but as we all saw, he was just there to appease his sponsors.
Well, Bellamy was using the same ball. Can you really blame a loss on a ball? If it hits differently or soft, then you adapt. The player that adapts better wins.
Who do you think has an easier time adapting: person A who has been using object X for 10 years straight and knows how it should behave inside and out or person B with less experience using object X for 2 years? I'm not saying the ball is the reason Ben lost here, but I also don't think adaptability to a bad ball should be looked at as some kind of a good thing. No adaptation should be required
@@davidtucci6085 new ball every game due to out of round issues. Would one blame Steph Curry for complaining about an out of round basketball? Surely Giannis wouldn’t care because he gets his points from the paint. There is an argument to be made that the ball does not meet minimum specs for pro level play.
@@ScottT109not true at all. I agree it's not the ball but it wasn't Roscoe who outplayed him. This is a game of the mind. You can literally see the turning point. Ben started letting balls fly right next to him. His follow throughs were non existent. He got aced on a game point serve! That's rare in general in pickleball but against the best player and weak serve directly to his forehand? He mentally checked out after he complained. Consciously chose not to adapt. Adaption is one of the required traits to become the best and he's one of the best at it but he chose not to. Did you see the specific point when the ball hit the net and flew over Ben's head? He very easily could've hit that back but instead he threw his hands up in defeat

You can't see players on the second court, but you can clearly hear Quan Duong hitting the ball. LOL.
You can see his pink sleeve 😂
Obnoxiously so

that service warning at 0:40 was total B.S.
Anyone else watching Quan in the far court?

Ben John was not complaining on that first game....
Ben doesn't even look like he's trying or having fun.
I agree. He looks unmotivated. Probably tired..

Ben beat Ben this match.
Only guarantee with the Vulcan ball is that it will warp...
When did judges start saying "point" after every point? Am I daffy?
did the ref say "would you be quiet"?
I agree. We tried them the other day and you have to go through several to find one that will stay round or doesn't have soft spots. They are trash.
yep but everyone is playing with the same trash. you can't blame the ball. or the sun. or the wind. or or or or.

Ben controlled first game no prob .. ball argument moot

@@johnsanders3501 fair point
I bought those new Selkirk balls and they hit much different than the Franklin X I’m used to. Cant him then that well for some reason.
Johns is right. Vulcans are absolute garbage
Perhaps but can’t blame the ball for the loss. Bellamy out played him
