Love your videos Chris, being an old mechanic myself I can see your a drafter although I didn’t work on the big stuff. Just wish you’d put some knee pads on and some matting under trucks while your on your back. I didn’t and I’m suffering now.

We’ve got that Mikita radio on the van. It’s brilliant. So is the little tyre compressor, uses your 18v batts
Been left the trade a few years now reminded me of the many ring gears I used todo on the xfs chisel them off heat the new one up and drop it on miss the ol' workshop but fork lifts paid better money with no weekends keep up the good work 💪
It looks like they would still come off separate but don’t know if you can buy a ring gear on it’s own now! We live in a disposable world! Don’t blame you Henry stick what makes you happier mate 👍 cheers for watching pal

Alright Chris how ya doin,just stumbled on channel and it's a fresh of breath air ;-) moons ago I spent over 15 years maintaining trains so I can relate to your professional struggles lol,ps I reckon a good quality pay flat hydraulic Jack with a stepped spreader attachment could be a good investment for wheel hub and disc removing

So far I watched two of your videos on being a mechanic they are great and I enjoy them can you do one thing please wear safety glasses cuz there's time to time I work on my big trucks and I've had something hit me in the face I've almost lost an eye because I didn't wear no safety glasses that's the only thing I request is you be safe wear safety glasses so you can keep seeing your your kids and your grandkids and being with your wife so you can keep looking at your wife so you can see her and the kids please be safe and wear safety glasses please

People of your ilk built this country. The Givernment should be asked to look at what the ordinary people of this country, put themselves through to make a living, and put food on their families tables.
Then they should ask is it right that after doing this and paying taxes for 50 years, if it’s ok to except a poor excuse for a health service after successive Givernment’s have run it into the ground.
What hours do you work man roughly ,start and finish times ?
Do you work 6 days a week ?
just a little tip if you use a combination spanner you can lock the flywheel up put a bolt in flywheel then put the spanner between bell housing stud and the bolt in the flywheel .

We had a proper tool you bolted over the inspection hatch and you could either use it to turn the engine or lock it off 😉

Chris I never worn a seat belt until some dopey bird skipped a red light on me at 40mph I didn't even get time to break I got smashed to bits lucky to be walking after I tore all the nerves in my neck now i always wear it

Haha, my son is diesel mechanic, and he comes home looking like you on a regular basis. He spanners on late KW’s/X15 Cummins in the main. Good having that second washing machine outside. Great vids. Reckon that sloppy drive bushing in the starter may have been responsible for the ring gear demise??
