I heard Matt Rhule say, back when he first got here, that "you will never see me start fast". I thnk he said he wants to catch them in the 4th quarter. Yet, his teams quit during the 4th quarter, every time. They come out unprepared and the opposite of fired up. No energy. We are so bad at scoring points that if he does not get off to a fast start, we're toast. He needs to change that mindset I suppose, but frankly, I'm already asking myself if he is in fact, the guy. He doesn't seem to have real coaching chops...when was the last time he out-coached an opposing coach? He doesn't seem to be a real good in-game coach. Offense is lazy...no motions, no movement, nothing really clever or special. This whole staff was outcoached yesterday. You can't see them leading up to something, getting the feeling that they know what to do and when...and when to pounce...to set them up for a surprise attack...Osborne did it all the time.

Rhule looked very uncomfortable on the sidelines. His post USC press conference was equally uninspiring. He looks lost! Agreed play the new guys. The o-line has been awful for years, Banks and Nayor are not aggressive and don’t block. This is a game of inches and the guys need to fight hard. We have a bunch of so-so players. That's why no one gets drafted into the pros.

    • @Surfbogie07

Rhule's style of coaching is about developing players. He should have pulled in a big group of starters and people with experience where he could. Than develop other players, his current coaching is going to result in him being fired.

      @davidrajaruzicka5546 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

The other main issue that isn't addressed still is O-line. They are awful in pass protection and inconsistent in run blocking. That I think is a more important area, but I agree, WRs are needed, however it won't matter if you can't keep your QB upright or get runningbacks into the game.

    • @shanestacotuesdayreviews6885
      @shanestacotuesdayreviews6885 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

I don't think it's a WR problem. I think it's a WR Coach problem. He's 22 years old, never coached before and has never taken a snap as a WR.. Then folks wonder why NU's WR's can't run good routes, can't block, can't scramble to get open.

Hartzog has FOUR interceptions in 2024. That's by far the most on this team, more than Travis Hunter...that ties him for seventh most in all of FBS. He's also got more pass deflections than just about any DB (Buford I think has one more). And finally, he's 5' 9" which is a perfectly fine height for his position. Many NFL HOF safeties are right around that height. For DBs, acceleration is much more important than height. Both you and Wilson the Jaysker need to chill out. No one is a bigger loser than a Jaysker.

Colorado is about a number 12 to 15 rated team now and NEbraska is about a number 70 rated team in power rankings. I saw all the wins live in the 70's, 80's and 90's and I'm just apathetic that anything will ever change. My son said the only thing that will sting is if the sellout streak ends, but people like to go to the tailgaits like my sis who has season tickets for 40 years and cares less if we win any games, she just likes the tailgaiting.

The offense didn't let us down this game, the defense did. 3 defensive linemen, and 3 linebackers isn't much of a run stopping threat, nor is it much of a pass rush threat. I gave this defense a chance. Now I realize it's a failed experiment, and there is a reason nobody else uses it. 300 pound O-linemen see linebackers as puny humans, and they have the numbers.
I've asked why Hartzog is a blackshirt + single number jersey since the CU game. He's consistently targeted on 3rd down. He doesn't line up with correct leverage much of the time. Where is the bump and run?? It screws up timing, it gives linemen just a bit more time to affect the pass accuracy. Tackling? How does so many defenders not know how to tackle using their body instead of arms. Get your helmet in front of the runner, not behind them.
These are just as much a coaching issues and defensive strategy issue if not more than personnel issue.

Our defense has been extremely disappointing since Colorado......the one thing i do disagree on is that I think we have to... have to roll HH out there to start the Wisconsin game...will we...no... should we, absolutely..
Everyone knows how to easily easily game plan our offense to the point we cant do literally anything. Our best chance is to catch them completely off guard with something they arent prepared at all for an it gets us the all important bowl game even if you have to sit Dylan.

Hes not good at reading the defense and when he does decide to throw all of his passes seem like they take an hour to get to the receiver which also lets the defender get to the ball. We all have to understand Dana Holgerson is not going to be able to make huge changes in the last three weeks of the season. Why do we always hate on people because they do not always have a great game. I know we have things to fix, no doubt. But we do not have all the pieces on the staff yet or talented enough players in certain spots. So everyone can just hope to get to a bowl this year, and get the right pieces as in players and coaches in the end of the season. Matt Ruhle has shown he is going to make the right decision to what is best for the program. Not just for this year but for the future and beyond. People always want it immediately, right now. To do this right for years to come it will take time. It’s a different time in College Footvall

I've said this all year long. Nebraska secondary is week. They can't cover, they always go for the pick instead of knocking the wall away. They don't make the tackles if the line misses. Secondly we don't use our offensive line correctly. If you watch the USC game the pulled their guards and tackles. Opening up huge holes and a perfect play action pass for a TD. USC has a good team. Think about it. Out ok the west coast, Pacific time. LOS ANGELES. I BELIEVE NEBRASKA HAS GOTTEN GREAT PLAYERS OUT OF LA. Most of you wouldn't know who Coach Robinson was. I was born and raised in nebraska. However I loved the LA rams and dodgers. USC also has the best cheer leaders. Nebraska needs to go to a bowl game because recruiting good players requires winning. If nebraska wants to go to a bowl game then like you said pull out all the stops and give Harrburg a shot. He deserves a chance. Riola would understand this. He would also be happy to see a friend finish his career on a good note. Oregon found out that Wisconsin was physical. They couldn't finesse them with their style of play. They were lucky to win last night. So do you want to see us in a bowl game or not. Nebraska loses alot of their defense next at the conclusion of this season. Better pull out the whole bag or football is over for good. Thank you dumbasses for believing in throwing away tradition by turning to the pass and letting go former players and coaches.

Well there is that 60 million payout to fire Rhule. As time goes on Rhule appears to be Scott Frost II. He looks confused on the sidelines often running around like a chicken with his head cut off and just holding onto tons of papers with a totally lost look on his face. Very badly coached team, the players you mentioned along with senior receivers, a couple linebackers, running backs and QB is totally lost.

i think the huskers look good. so much better than frost teams. a couple players away from being in the top half of the conference. officials stole 2 games earlier in the season. getting better and im not embarrassed to be a fan. back to the officials. i almost stopped watching because calls so obviously wrong even after a 5 minute review from every angle, i wont watched rigged anything.

We are all frustrated...coaches, players and fans alike. Check the emotions, stay cool, and keep up the good insight. Thanks for your efforts.

Wilson man i like the videos and such but you contradict yourself. Your pinning the usc loss on Dana, while giving Raiola a pass? Dana has been here a week and is not going to change the offense in that time. Raiola has progressively gotten worse over the year. Yes i think he will be a good qb in the comin years but i guess im not seeing your logic on this one?

@WilsonDittmanSports what i meant is you said raiola is our qb of the future so we basically have to put up with growing pains, which I agree however we don't know that holgerson will or won't be here next year, in my opinion we have to think he will be. With that being said HE won't work miracles in 3 games, however give him a season and let's see how he does maybe he will fall on his face maybe he won't no one knows, I can see us getting some more elite wr and such with him and raiola

This fan base is extremely toxic and it’s my least favorite thing.
I get it, everyone is tired of losing.
Your mentalities and the way you speak about players and coaches is not helping.
You fans are always looking for a quick fix, pushing the program to make huge changes on a dime.
That is 100% a good part of the reason our program hasn’t been fixed yet.
You just wanna swap coaches and qbs forever and hope he get lucky?
We have the best possible scenario for our team in this rebuild (realistically)
A solid coach shown to be able to turn programs away. One of the only five star recruits we’ve ever gotten as a qb.
He is a freshman playing in a very hard defensive conference.
Am I happy with his performance? F no.
Am I going to sit around and give him a bunch of hate on social media and call for his job?
    F no.
That is quite literally being a fair-weather fan and it’s going to make good players leave.
Let’s say Rhule listens to all the fans saying that and benches Dylan. Then Dylan leaves during the offseason as well as all the dudes who came directly to play with him.
We would be right back where we were last year.
So so so so so sick of the crying.
I’d happily throw this second season away so Dylan can get more reps and experience.
He IS the future, unless you “fans” f it up.

At this point, I’d be okay with switching to a 4-3. We kept hearing how confusing the 3-3-5 is, yet teams seem to have some of their best games statistically against it. Until we move on from this bend don’t break mentality, I don’t see our defense ever truly being elite.

Yeah probably should have waited couple days and thought about it because you sound like that desperate drunk trying to convince the officer to let you try the field sobriety test again. Your just saying the opposite of what their doing and hope it works. The offense didn't live to the expectations, but you was cool 2 weeks ago when OC change was made. I dought the HC is purposely not playing the best players to be more dramatic. Something in practice shows their not ready to at least start. Why not bench Dylan you called for change what can you lose I believe the back up QB hasn't lost a game he started was the only QB that won all 5 of his starts last year. Everyone always questions the decisions when they lose and if Nebraska played exactly the same and won everyone would say they did good and with another week to practice under new OC it will be better. Don't know why schools pay these couches people on youtube know more for free. Normally I unsubsidized when people sound like the democratic party with all this nonsense but I've listened to you a while now and believe your emotions was doing the talking. Just be positive and show the team you support all of them.

Their old school mentality of seniors getting priority, is a problem. A 22 year old WR coach, who has never taken a snap as a WR, is a problem. Leaving QB1 in the game when he is shitting the bed, is a problem. It seems like we always play "safe" football, and that's a problem.

I don't think it's a Tony White play calling issue. The players have been in the right positions to make plays, they just fail to execute.....over and over and over. Might be a Tony White coaching issue. Or a players wit defeat in their hearts issue.
