for those who are confused... Rise TECHNICALLY did NOT sign either IHW or Northlane. Both bands are still UNFD artists. UNFD simply teamed up with Rise to help promote these bands in the US (and Canada by extention). UNFD realeized both these artists are relatively unknown here in North America (unknown in the sense that not a MILLION people know them, of course we all do) and they wanted to change this. The two labels kinda created a brand new label (Rise/UNFD) for this situation. It's pretty much like UNFD went to Rise and said "Can you help us out? We'll split profits with you 50/50, but we still want to keep both bands". Rise gets to promote 2 great bands who have all star potential and they get some much needed good publicity for this and UNFD has the chance to grow 2 of their biggest acts and make more money. The bands get more fans and therefore more money. big win for everyone involved.
***** Edward Gorey Hand Of Mercy are getting the treatment too with their new record Resolve for distribution and such just like what they're doing with IHW & NL, it's such a great idea for our Aussie bands.
