    Great but almost impossible for me to understand as the voice is very unclear.

      Sorry about the audio, I’m hoping to someday fix this video’s sound in the future.

    We need a part 2!

    • @HistoryofAztlan
      @HistoryofAztlan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely! Originally the part 2 was going to be a sort of ‘season finale’ of the Complete History of the Aztecs but due to time constraints and other projects I’ve been working on, plus many other things, I decided to indefinitely postpone it. Maybe someday in the far future I’ll finish it and post it.

    How do we know they came from California

      As always thanks for watching! Fernando Ixtlilxochitl never states his source for the claim of the Toltecs and Otomis originating from the California and the Sea of Cortez. My personal theory is that his sources probably mentioned the Toltecs originating from the north and migrating via the sea route mentioned, so he would have placed it in California, owing to the fact the Spaniards at the time this book was written had a limited knowledge of the interior of what is today the US.
      The beginning chapters of the book are also very inaccurate, such as the Otomis originating from the Sea of Cortez when the origins of their language family most probably lies in the modern Mexican state of Guanajuato. Nonetheless it gives us a glimpse as to how the Spaniards interpreted the history of Central Mexico before they got there.

      At 4:26 it states that the story of the Chichimecas starts….., then at 4:31 “they sailed down the California coast because they were exiled from their homeland from the north”.

      Could be true both my parents are from Guanajuato deep in Chichemeca Guamare territory and according to DNA testing out of my 46% native DNA, 16% of it is from North America aka the United States.

      Yeah, I made this back when I was using my computer’s built in mic, I’ve upgraded the audio on future videos since then. I plan to re record the audio on this one in the future.
