The area around Whitby has the same jurassic rocks that come to the surface doen in the south in Dorset. The rock layers go under England the rise up in each place. Both are full of fossils that can be picked up reasonably easily.
We so enjoyed the fossil hunt that we hadn't even noticed there was no geocaching! Super neat and thanks for all the info! How did your fish and chips compare to the NZ style? Besides the price difference and the absence of newspaper wrap ;)
Thanks glad you liked it. We do fish and chips the way it's done in the UK. So very similar. Our chips are usually more golden that the ones we had in Whitby. We have a particularly good fish and chips shop near us so lucky.

Have always liked salt on my chips but have not tried vinegar. Do you put it on loke tomato sauce?
