I saw this video for the 1st time in 2007 and now 12 years later is still so damn good! And this music is fantastic! It gives me chills every time I see this!
yeah usually i'm not a fan of trance at all, but this fits so perfectly, and "like a dream" is exactly what it's like, Group B to me is like a dream, something i never got to see because i was too young at the time. the whole vid just sends shivers up my spine, i must have watched it 15 times in the last few months. beautiful.
I was lucky to be able to see the B-cars in person. I can only say one think for sure. if you think you can imagine what its like to see it ? you have no idea what kind of show that was. Simply incredible, must see to believe.
Let me tell you something, man.Group B cars are considered to be the fastest, the craziest, the most powerful and the most dangerous rally cars ever made.Modern rally cars are fast, but not even close to Group B.For example, modern rally cars run between 170-180kph on gravel, while Group B cars were able to go over 200 kph on gravel roads. That's a big difference.
OMG. I was born in 86 and my first "matchbox" was Peugeot 205 T16. I know its odd, but last weekend I was watching the rally in Hungary, there were such cars as opel ascona 400, LADA vfts, group B cars. They were competing with group N evo´s and impreza´s, actually the ascona was on some stages faster than an celica gt4. I love these cars.
antituga - what does people's love of football have to do with it? My father was an amateur footballer (played as a striker) but he also loved racing. He bought an 1985Audi 4000S because of Audi's success in rallying and at Pike's Peak in America. The dealer put a sticker on his car: "Audi: The Double World Champion". He drove that car to his matches. Football was my first sport - and rallying made me fall in love with racing. One has nothing to do with the other.
Man...after thinking for another minute, rally racing would be on a completely different plane if group b were still around. *Sigh* Thanks for straightening out many kinks in my thoughts. :D
Those records were so much easier to break due to the numerous technology nannies present in the wrc cars. The people who were able to harness group b cars were gods and deserve more respect.
Me duele mucho en el alma decir esto, pero ellos nunca volverán ... Fueron, son y serán siempre los mejores. Cuando me siento mal, decaído, deprimido, triste ... siempre pongo este video y me hace llorar de alegría.
Shit ... I was 10 years old when i saw this amazing machines at Portugal Rallye 86 ... still remember the sound ... the smell ...and eating lots of dust .. :) Manny ppl are saying that the crowds were crazy by stading all way on tracks ... IF you have 1 shot to watch those cars live wouldnt you go ??? Sure was a huge risk with cars passing by at 140mph ...but ... worth it...
i have ha ha ha.............renault 5 turbo 2! and yes they are as much fun as they look, i had a fella follow me in his car with his phone out videoing me on top of his steering wheel! they really turn heads :) long live jean ragnotti
Only the sound of BMW 134 Judd V8,which was driven by the 7-time European hillclimb champion Georg Plasa, sounds so sweet as the roar of the Audi Quattro S1.
There was a video called "Group B - rally on the edge" a long time ago. The song was the same, "Lange-follow me". Anyone seen it somewhere or have it saved somewhere? :)
Actually, there were 2 competitive cars that were rear wheel drive, the 037 Mont'e Carlo and the R5 Maxi turbo. There were other's but they weren't very competitive. The R5 was a champ on tarmac.
Truy a amazing time in autosports. Yes the fans were risking their life, but they knew they were. You dont stand on a road with a car driving ass fast a spossible on it and expect it to be a safe place to be. Blame the fia if you want to blame anyone. Rally now is nothing as exotic as this, and will never be for the forseeable future. These cars and rivers are truly of legend.
Note that there are no clips of the cars flipping over. That is because the driver's big massive cast iron balls kept the CG so low the car couldn't be flipped.
well done this video. the audi roars like a dinosaur!maybe the most beautiful car ( the late model), but the hardest to drive because of the motor position.
this why i love group B! for sheer Power and speed there were NO equals..! its a shame they no longer compete.. they surely give the newer cars competing now a run for their in fact dare i say..NO COMPETITION?! Bring back GroupB!
conti.. U also have 2 remember that the s4/t16/rs200/6r4 were all purpose built machines, using tublar chassis and space frame construction, and the S1 was just a quick Quattro sport, whos was then just a quick shortened road car.Audis problem was vehicle weight, weight distribution, and unreliabily due to parts being designed in house ie genuine as apposed to most of the other vehicles using foreign parts, ie designed else where. On todays rules the S1 would race in a class below the WRC cars
they knew the risks and they took em thats teh spirit of Group B rally and most other racing events. the funny thing is in F1 a person died and all they did is change a barrier on a chicane. i wish they kept group b and just made the cars a bit safer but no slower.

nothing beats the sound of the sport quattro :)

I saw Walter Röhrl with his S1 in Luxenbourg. Great and legend

i have ha ha ha.............renault 5 turbo 2! and yes they are as much fun as they look, i had a fella follow me in his car with his phone out videoing me on top of his steering wheel! they really turn heads :) long live jean ragnotti
Best rally days EVER! long live BOOSTED RALLY cars.
Great video.Enjoy it thanks
For me the best cars they were ever build !!
My favorite Lancia Delta S4 and Lancia 037/Stratos.
And a little bit Audi S1 :-)
It's S4, baby. It kicks asses
There'll never be a time like this...

tears in my eyes for what was a wonderful sport unlike todays micky mouse events !!!!!! thanks
that audi quattro sounds awesome, goes like shat off a shiney shovel.
I am also very good for the rally to be back like this and with all these cars mainly audi quattro
no one can beat the All Mighty Audi Quattro E2!!
Fantastic!
nothing quite like the fire spitting beasts in a welsh forest . Group B was the ultimate ......

Rally will never be as good............ever
It's by 'Lange & The Morrighan' and is called 'Follow Me'.
this song is ideal to this video
de los mejores videos de las mejores epocas de los rallies ;)
Actually, there were 2 competitive cars that were rear wheel drive, the 037 Mont'e Carlo and the R5 Maxi turbo.
There were other's but they weren't very competitive. The R5 was a champ on tarmac.
And what if they bring back Group B and all teams that competed in old Group B come back? That would be awesome.
Peugeot the beautiful, Audi the beast, Lancia the best.

Bring back this group plz!!!!!!!!
Awesome cars, they really were too powerful to race... even the wings couldn't keep them from flying away...
@touge242 Agree, quattro had one of the best sounds back then.
Note that there are no clips of the cars flipping over. That is because the driver's big massive cast iron balls kept the CG so low the car couldn't be flipped.
well done this video.
the audi roars like a dinosaur!maybe the most beautiful car ( the late model), but the hardest to drive because of the motor position.
rally in the 80's is so epic
awesome video ;] thx for uload it ;]

Bring back GroupB!
great vid and music
Video sublime!!
My God, if the spectators weren't so reckless we'd still have beautiful cars like this racing.
i feel strange to say that but i like the music over this, i think it fits really good and it does not cover the sound of enginees
0 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 2.3 seconds, on a gravel road its a fucking amazing thing..Only S4 did that..The Lancia S4 was uncatchable
conti..

I got to hand it to them. I don't have the nards to race 600 horses on dirt. That's just nuts... yet oh so cooooool
Audi Quattro and Lancia Delta Integrale. :P Amazing cars!!
i want them back, those were real cars and real drivers FIA bring them back
Audi S1 pwnd. I miss these monsters.
