I just LOVE the way you wrap bouquets. Too often people scrunch the bouquet, making it look smaller. The pre-made sleeves are terrible about this. The way you wrap makes the bouquet look larger and more special!
As a current floristry student, I really enjoyed and got a lot from your demonstration and talking through pricing, Phaedra. Haven't had a spider incident myself yet, career milestone I guess 😄
Thankyou for your feedback! I’m glad you got something out of this video :). Wishing you all the best with your studies, how exciting! (Also exciting you haven’t had any spider issues 😂)
😮 There's no way I could take off all of the Marigold foliage! 😂 I do the opposite sometimes actually! 😂 I pop the bloom off & only use the foliage! 😂 OK so I'm lying, I wpuld remove it if I received complaints of the scent, but I haven't yet so... Beautiful arrangements! I always love yours!
Thank you. You have inspired me to grow dahlias this year. Spring started today, and of course, we had a sprinkling of snow, lol 🇨🇦 I'm always in awe of Australians coping with such a variety of spiders and snakes. I get laughed at a lot by said Australians 😂 I hope you found that spider!
Hello! argh! Snow in Spring!! I bet it's so annoying when you have just had an entire winter of it and want to get planting. you can start the dahlia tubers in pots somewhere warmer if you want to then transplant into the garden.
Dinner AND a show! Imagine how fabulous you would have looked with tassels on your apron! Winter project perhaps?!! Thanks for the wet-me-pants-laugh!!! 😂😂
21:15 😂😂😂 I have no room to talk though. I'm the same exact way I don't Care if a spider is sitting right next to me but the moment it touches me is when I flip out.
Lol OMG you look like I did the other night. I went to come in from the studio and a large huntsman ran across my hand when I went to open the door :( the shrieking coming from my door brought my husband outside to see what was going on. I always have a can of fly spray in the studio but it was empty so the next best thing was a can of spray adhesive and boy oh boy did he cop a dose of that! Ever since moving to the south coast I have always said everything here is fed steroids! Bread and butter plate sized spiders YUK (gives me goose bumps just thinking about it) Lately Ive had to be really careful in the flower garden for snakes but also rotten funnel web spiders. Thankyou for explaining a little more about the amount of stems to a bouquet it will help me this year once our production gets underway. Ive gotten to the stage now that I am just cutting the strawberries off with scissors and just leaving them in the beds as Im so worried about a red backs being amid the dying off leaves. It’s 7.30am here and raining again today so I wont be out in the garden today, will probably do some computer work instead or pack up some more seeds that I have been collecting for next Spring and for sale. Have a wonderful day and hopefully you are getting some rain down there too xx Cheers Theresa
Argh huntsman’s run so so so fast too. We had one jump at us once too 😭. We are thankful to not have funnel webs here, I think it gets too cold for them here maybe. Raining here today too!
Hahahahah. who else is prepared to put that embarrassing moment on TH-cam hahahahah. Im still laughing too! Welcome to our cute flower community!!! Everyone here will love having you (and me too)
I love your videos, so informative, helpful & inspirational 🌼 especially when you talk pricing - so helpful to have some clarity, thank you 💛 oh and your bouquets are just stunning too!
Gorgeous Autumnal colours Phaedra. And yes as a Kiwi who now lives in Oz, it has been a huge adjustment to be tough and handle the spider and snake indigenous community. 😏
😂😂😂 so did you find the spider? Can you still see it/feel it in your mind's eye? I understand! 😂 i LOVE the furry silky feel of proteas. Do you happen to know any tricks for extending the vase life of proteas? Any tips from the growers near you? Interesting that people snap up the multicolored bouquets first. I agree about offering a range of options, as someone who loves buying bouquets i love being able to look for the one that has the colours and textures that create the right feel for the occasion and flowers that symbolise the right thing (e.g. most people i know don't want chrysanthemum unless it's mothers day).
If I were selling bouquets, they'd be different, agree, more choices = sales, yours were lovely as always. I'm pretty ok with spiders, I only have one over here to worry about...brown recluse. Snakes on the other hand, even tho not dangerous, even the size of a pencil has me going in the house.
Love love love these videos... How to make up bouquets and also pricing. More please 💐❤... By the way, I now grow feverfew because of you. Thanks for all the great tips 💡
Hi honey a beautiful vlog, thank you for sharing your amazing skills with us. I was wondering how long you sit your dahlias in the hot water ?? And if you cut the stems of the dahlias after making the bouquet, do you put them back in hot water again??
Hi Caz! I pick the dahlias straight into boiling water and leave them in those buckets until the water cools to room temp. Then I move them to another bucket (with Chrysal Pro2 in it, if you don't have that just clean cool water). I do snip the stems when I move them into the cool water. No need to dip in hot water again, you only do that right after picking.
I love those mod vases that you use, but I haven't been able to locate any here in the US. Does anybody know where I might be able to find some to order?
I noticed in another video that you criss cross, which l love, because everywhere l've watched re bouquet making they say always go the same way ...ie, put up to your left shoulder & put in that way & eventually, turn, but keep going the same way & l have such trouble with that!!!! Just feels wrong. When l turn everything falls out of position! Throwing that out the window now 🤣....l'm criss crossing which is what naturally feels right to me.
I know I know I know.. it's the "pure" way to do things. It's great to know how, but sometimes it's just so hard to hold the stems in a spiral. It's really hard with smaller bouquets. Large bouquets with lots of stems the spiral is much easier.
Omg flashbacks to the day I found a huge huntsman on my bed headboard. I considered catching and releasing it outside but as I approached it, it quickly scurried BEHIND THE BED HEADBOARD 😵 My bed frame is mega heavy so I couldn’t just move the bed out. Thankfully I got rid of it, but I seriously considered sleeping on the couch that night if I couldn’t. Just the thought of it scurrying across my face while sleeping 🤢
I just LOVE the way you wrap bouquets. Too often people scrunch the bouquet, making it look smaller. The pre-made sleeves are terrible about this. The way you wrap makes the bouquet look larger and more special!
Thankyou Faith!!!! Your wrapping is beautiful too. Can’t wait to see what you do this season!!

Will you be selling any Dahlia tubers? I’d be very interested and happy to support your little business.
Omg! I am so following you from now on because your spider reaction and genuine hilarious reaction was priceless. I'll be laughing for days 😂

I mention protea in my next video on fragrance free flowers and how I had never heard of them until I started watching your channel.
That is so cool Evelyn!!! Aren't they gorgeous!

hi can you please let me know on a $35 dollar bouquet what does the servo buy them for
Hello. It will vary with how much a retailer will take as a cut. You’ll need to discuss it with whoever you are thinking of selling with :)

Girl your making my back hurt-taller table might ease the burden ❤
