39:00 I think Roy is missing the modern ingredients to blowing up on the road. Tom and Bert got to theaters from podcasting. Andrew's audience is HUGE from this show and Bad Friends. Not taking away from all of the time that people put in through their straight stand up careers but hardcore fans watch these folks for a few hours every single week and if they're coming to a city near us, we'll be there.

I’m not surprised…his mother is a professor and he’s a college graduate. If you’re naturally funny AND educated, your material will always be one step above the rest (kinda like going through West Point vs enlisting).

I’ve always wondered about how jokes go over city to city. Interesting to get that insight and how he tests different audiences for different reasons. Crazy thoughtfulness and effort he’s putting into his work.

I just started getting into the comedy podcast content earlier this year, and if there is one major misconception that almost every comedian has disproved, is that they aren't hard workers. These peeps fucking WORK.
Ya I guess , they film for a few hours a week if they have more than one pod and pay people to edit / produce and do everything else. They work hard when it comes to writing their material and working it out while doing this though. The podcasting is the easy part especially for a guy like santino who’s quick off the cuff.
Roy is like a blend of Patrice O’Neil and Katt Williams (killing them softly like O’Neil and elevated energy like Williams), but his material is hilariously thought-provoking like Chappelle. With his material and producing background, he’ll do well with his own show. He’s definitely one worth following. And are you kidding me, he was great at hosting ‘This Isn’t Happening’…those that criticized him must be Dry Bar Comedy fans.😂
