People need to be responsible and get out when told. I bet they do next time.
Most of polk county did not have evacuation orders.
There was also conflicting information there for who should and had to evacuate. If in a mobile home absolutely. If not, you didn't have orders.

In a place that only had evacuation orders for mobile homes that does. It get this kind of flooding and is the location many people evacuated *to.*

Fox 13, are you able to secure sleeping area for the out of state EMS, that have been working there? They are currently stuck in Miami without sleeping areas. They transported them 10 miles away from their ambulances, to a hotel. No rooms, so they took them to another hotel. These people need a shower and at least 4 hours of sleep.
I saw a post that Trump is lodging 200-300 linemen free of charge from FPL at one of his resorts in Miami. Edit: They're at Doral.

@@divacassandra1everytime However, Polk county had no evacuation orders except for mobile homes. People _went there_ to evacuate Tampa. Parts of Lakeland is on a ridge and not known for flooding. It's not like the entire state logistically could leave all at once.

Not much of a hurricane. Lost a couple of shingles and that's about it. Even the power flickered but stayed on. Flooding was a concern early but the actual storm was pretty tame
