I recently had to rough in a bath for a metal building because the local plumbers were wanting to charge over $3500 for a two-fixture rough-in. After 3 hours of work and $250 in pipe and fittings, I finished the job on my own. Your videos and schematics gave me the confidence to move forward after my initial shock at the local plumber's fees. Appreciate the info you provide.

I am so glad I found your channel. I plan to overhaul my in house bathroom as the house was built in the 50's and needs major work. In the meantime I want to put inca complete bathroom with a small shower to use later as a mudroom.
My Dad taught all his girls not to fear tackling anything. I have put in oil pan gaskets, spark plugs, revamped uneven roof line, re roofed a house. I think with your good advice I can do this plumbing.
Just so you will know I am 70 and still going strong.

I’m an architect in nyc. I always use 18” on center from wall or vanity/shower. This is the ADA rule in NYC and if you have that option, it is more comfortable for the average person as well.

Great content. Question: people seem to agree that the flange needs to be installed to the height of the finished floor. How does one accomplish this on a new build when the plumbing goes in prior to the flooring?

Great video, thanks a bunch :-)
I had a question about adding a bathroom into the garage, our garage steps down in elevation by about 8 or 10 in or so. And the garage has a concrete wedge that goes around the whole garage...
My question is can we bring the water for the toilet up through the wood framed floor or do we need to punch into the side of the concrete to bring it from the wall sitting on top of the concrete pad.
I hope my question makes sense and thank you for your work and consideration

I have a garage built on a concrete slab with a 4inch tall concrete edge. Avoiding all concrete fab, how high must I build my the wooden floor so toilet drain pipes will clear that 4 inch concrete edge that the walls of structure sits on. 1foot? 2foot high. and again im not touching or fabricating concrete. and forget codes Im not a sheep.or a code follower.

*everything*? It’s video says nothing about how the flange is set in relation to the floor. Getting your flange right is pretty important and so any video that doesn’t include this, certainly does not explain everything about a rough in.
