@@BrokenDollyTV I totally get what you meant. Let's just hope the brown boy is 'real.' The last thing I want is his skin tone is lighter than what we see in these photos; I mean, we all know how Mattel is like; the prototype sometimes look different from the finished product.

The dark skinned doll is gorgeous. I've already pre-ordered him on Amazon. Not sure why he's the only one available for pre-order. I just started collecting, so he'll be my first "ken" that I've ever owned. I love his outfit, it's so fresh and clean. He looks like a real person to me.
Mattel should contact resell sites like ebay and mercari and bar new releases from being sold. It’s annoying for real collectors having to compete with people who just buy the 2 doll limit to resell at a 300% or more markup
I actually got my hands on the curvy doll with the Afro! She’s absolutely stunning to me. Very high quality doll and face paint. Bravo to Mattel. I’m usually critical of Mattel’s releases lately, but this is a breath of fresh air.
They are all soo beautiful and will def be getting them all! As of today (Jun 4th), Bill Greening has posted (& we've prob all seen by now) on IG & FB that he was the designer of this series and that these are all NEW face sculpts which have not yet been named either. Also, no release date has been giving yet, but everyone is saying in late-June or sometime in July.
Thanks for sharing very relevant info for our fellow collectors. Many have expressed their paranoia that the dolls will be sold out on Amazon and only available thru scalpers for exorbitant prices. I hope everyone who wants them have the opportunity to add these lovely faces to their collections
I don’t get excited anymore because it’s so hard to get them. It seems the EBay scalpers take all the inventory 😔
I'm going to be patient and wait till the craze is over to get them. There a must have. So it's a watch and wait until I see them on the target web.
This is a definite issue, for sure.
Also. I just got diagnosed with Asperger's 2 years ago and I'm 46. So I finally figured out why I still was so young at heart. Aspies are always childlike. That's why we're so freaking fabulous!

@@kimmystewart6959 it is not rare in girls. Girls have a better way to hide it and that it’s why it is so hard to get diagnosed. We are good in pretending. Problem is that this gives more change to autistic burnout later on in life because it takes a hard toll on us to act like nt.

This is an excellent point. It seems like Mattel is leaving money on the floor by not catering to our need for better quality clothing. They would sell. I’m not sure if there’s not enough of us adult collectors and they are like “not worth it”.
Yeah, when are they gonna have fashion packs for collectors? Just simple plain everyday wear, like the stuff they included with the barbie style dolls for $100! These people need a separate department that focuses only on grown ups and our collecting needs.

I feel like Barbie Basics and the BMR line had a child together. I'm so excited for this line and I very much loved this breakdown. I don't know how many I will end up having - I'm most excited for BraidsxManbun - and I want to see tons of videos on the Barbie Signature Looks dolls regardless xD They're so incredible to look at!

I really enjoyed this event video! I am so excited for this line. I also agree that these are all new face sculpts. I really love all the faces, but arm twisted the Black guy is the one I'm most excited about.
We're getting similar feedback from many other collectors. Our pre-order of the black ken was pushed back, even though he was supposed to arrive today. 🤨 but, the designer, Bill greening Has confirmed these dolls aren't amazon exclusives and they will be stocked elsewhere in a few weeks. So let's just hope this is the early release craze. It's like news of these dolls made the adult collectors forget all about barbie extra wave 2! 🤣
That petite doll looks like she has a more golden skin tone in that 360 video you showed, which I'm super-excited about! So many of the dolls that have Asian facial features usually also have a more pale, caucasian skin tone. Having one who is unashamedly Asian (and not one that can pass for just a dark-haired white girl with winged eyeliner) will be great!
I think all of the new Barbie looks have new face sculpts. BTw, I am a fan and collector of dolls with different molds and I rebody them too with Made to Move.. I am obsessed. hahah..

I'm glad we finally get a curvy in the yellow top skin tone and possibly a MTM Ken in his normal skin tone. I will get the black dolls at the very least, the female would make a decent mini me, but all the dolls have something to offer and I prefer this over the BMR fashions. I can't say I'm excited, but it's a nice line.

These dolls came out for pre sale on Amazon on the 28th. The release date is listed as June 1st. I only managed to order the blonde male-most of the dolls were listed as not deliverable to my address, which should not have been the case and was super frustrating. They sold out quickly and now you can find them for $100 on Ebay. I really hope they will show up in stores and this wasn't our only chance to get them at retail price. It makes no sense that Mattel would have such a small release of low price point dolls, even if it is for collectors, unless they want secondary sellers to make all the money off these. I really want the brunette original body for my sewing model/muse.
Hang in there. I was able to only order the aa guy. He is supposed to be here the end of next week. Some of my Instagram friends in Europe have some already and love them. The Amazon shipping issue for us in the US is known and being worked on. A bunch of us on Instagram are hoping for release on Barbie.com to be able to get them easier so hopefully soon we can.

@@heatherbloss2174 no I don’t have a membership. Just everyone on Instagram talking about them and those who have them already. Some how we found a release time of early June but that’s it.
Someone linked a blog entry on this comment thread, by mattel talking very briefly about this line on their site. Still no listings but that may change later. Remember when people were excited about bmr line and now most of them are $20 or less on Amazon? Some eBay listing are nearly giving them away for free! Lol. Its unpredictable with barbie dolls. All we can do is use some strong mental focus to will things to go our way. Hope you are able to get your hands on them. Leave us an update if u do!
I can’t even preordered the black ken on Amazon Australia. It’s so infuriating. We didn’t get BMR in stores over here and the availability of darker dolls in our stores is awful.
Omg... I was talking to a viewer in India who told me something similar. Its so frustrating that other nations don't have access to the same collector dolls. And the people on 3rd party sites that love jacking up prices unreasonably... ugh! I hope things change for the better so we can all enjoy our dolls everywhere.

When the Ken fashionista 167, I lost my mind. I literally purchased 20+ so I could change most of my kens. So now that we are now getting new Ken skin tones, I’m going to be broke.

I love the concept and design of this line. The factory quality control is the question for me, because Mattel had not been doing well in that area. One IRL post of the blonde Ken had one eye bigger than the other. The dolls I plan to get first are the two African-American ones and the Latina girl.
Yeah, I realized how much I love picking out the exact face up I want when i see new dolls in store. We can't go that with online orders.

The pale and dark skintones are the MOST difficult to find in MTM and I agree with you on that Mattel starves us of these more diverse dolls by acting like they don't sell. I believe the pale tall blonde doll has the Barbie signature unicorn collector doll face.
I'm not super into the male dolls but I love ALL the girls, the asian doll is as cute as a button and the black girl is fierce. I am so happy to see another curvy MTM skintone, we NEED more high heel shoes for curvy girls, they been lazy and giving us these flat high tops and the ankle boots. But yeah I can't wait for them, I'm enjoying these more understated fashion peaces, like you said they'll be great for mix and matching.

I know that most of my friends that are Barbie collectors what every style shapeform skin tone everything when it comes to Barbie. That I only have a few blonde Barbies and most of them are all ethnic because how am I supposed to repaint a face on a the same face over and over again. I have a question. Have you ever made a video on how to re-shape Barbie dolls arms? I don't like when the come with their arms bent at the elbows or even when their hands are pointed straight down. How can I reshape or re-position my Barbie doll's bent arms?

I asked someone who has blonde tall in hand to look at her copyright date. It's 2020 so she's not Karl and she's new. Then she came back and said all the faces on these Looks are new sculpts. At $20 they are less expensive than getting a Fashionista and then having to get a MTM to rebody.

I'm looking forward to the male made to move dolls. Especially the dark skinned one. The only thing that concerns me is that the dark skinned ones, both male and female are going to be hard to purchase at the 'normal' price. Because they are dark skinned there prices will be hiked up and make it difficult for those of us who aren't 'rich' to add them in our collections. I had to buy the Puma AA doll nude because buying her with her outfit was way to high for me. I've been purchasing the individual pieces and one day I'll have her complete. It's always been difficult for me to buy any AA Barbie. They usually come one per case so by the time the time I do get to the store the AA ones are gone. Also dealers buy the AA ones and resell them at higher prices.

I have heard nothing that states the dolls are limited. I believe they will be a regular release like any other. However, all barbies are limited because they always discontinue after releasing the dolls and some time passes. So if you are able to buy a doll you like, I suggest getting them when available.
This Looks line is definitely not limited edition, as far as we know. June 16th is the official release date according to mattel. It should be available on their website too.

I like the posability of the made-to-move dolls, but I hate the aesthetic of the joints. These dolls ... I only like and might get the white haired and the brown haired females. But I'll probably re-root them to give them super long hair. IF I get the brown skin female, that hair has got to go!! Both the males are ugly. I recently saw photos of a second Asian female which I do like and will get. I got four rooted-hair Fashionista Kens and two BMR redhead Kens. All are going to get re-rooted to have super long hair. What can I say ... I love, love, love long hair, especially on guys!!
