PFF broke it down simply - Kubiak never adjusted to five defensive linemen and two high safeties. The middle was wide open if Carr had time. He didn’t or when he did, the routes were not short enough.
But…I think the Saints win this without McCoy going out and if Kubiak neutralizes this blueprint that the New England Patriots used - they would have blown out the Eagles. It’s encouraging, as long as he does adjust.

I picked them to beat the eagles especially b/c AJ brown was out and they have been up/down (I'm an eagles fan for context). But maybe the eagles defense is better than advertised...need more time to tell but I thought they were gonna get blown out. I was a bit surprised your d line didn't get home more with the two injuries on the eagles o line. Maybe they'll meet in the playoffs.

I feel like people don't realize how important the center is in the system. Losing McCoy midgame and having to jerryrig a solution was huge, quite possibly bigger than Hill's absence.
I imagine there can be a better fix now that it's not a surprise and they can prepare for someone to replace him, though don't expect the same level of success. But I think 20 or 30+ points is still possible vs the Falcons. If they're missing o linemen too then I think our defense might get some nice sacks vs Kirk Cousins. It is a division game vs our big rival so don't expect an easy game, though. Gotta come into it thinking it'll be tough

The issue with Saints Fans is they believe this issue was with Offense, but this was a defensive game and with the injuries to the O-line made it more difficult, however the offense still marched down the field and got the TD they needed to put them up 12-7 with less than 2 min to play in the game. If the Saint's defense wants to be considered elite then they need be able to close out that game and stop the Eagles on 3rd & 16. Also T-Bob is not completely correct about saints failed 4th & 1 play in red zone, the problem is not they went for it on 4th & 1, the problem is that the Saint's didn't attempt any pass to the endzone!!! all 4 plays from 1st down to 4th down was a run, why not attempt 1 pass to Olave in the endzone? as we all seen a few series later in the redzone Carr hits Olave for the TD to give Saint's lead!!!

They won with practice squad WRs and an olinemen who hasn't played football in forever. Eagles were missing at minimum 3x the amount of players and production that you were. Just the better team won. To claim injuries as a reason is laughable.

I believe Kubiak really didn’t want to show what we really have. The secret is Not out of the bag. Taysom has only been targeted as a receiver only twice if I remember correctly (someone can fact check that). Who’s going to stop Taysom on a short drag route? WR Bubble screen? TE screen? Believe me, Kubiak has way more left of this offense to unveil.

The overreactions are crazy, we def not the 07 patriots or 09 pick your poison but we aren't anywhere near last year. Ugly lost but like I commented on the last video if we would have won that, which we easily could have, we would've been the greatest team of all time. We knew weren't going 17-0, now we look like what we expected after 2 weeks into the season a double digit win team, host a playoff game, division champs, and hopefully a shot at 1 seed. Big game for sure coming up especially since McCoy is expected to miss multiple weeks, but it is the failcons lol lets get ready for the chiefs. seriously though you have to win against the failcons. (edit: meant to say McCoy instead of RuizI would be happy if we just got rid of him honestly from yesterdays performance horrible.)

Something else everyone needs to keep in mind, is that despite saints offense looking elite the 1st 2 weeks of the season, they're still in a new system. Theyre still ironing things out, tweaking certain aspects to put players in best position to succeed. Carr and the WR's are still building their timing and chemistry in the new offense. The OL is still learning how to play off one another, and they will def improve as the season goes on. Ofc there will be miscommunications (like on the pick, where Carr expected Shaheed to either come back to the ball or even sit. The DB made an insane play to pick that ball off, a play most DB's don't make). They'll still play at a high level vs teams who don't have elite DT's. But they def need to work on their zone beaters, which does require better timing and chemistry between the QB and WR's. I think they'll be an elite offense again, who can go up against any defense and have a big game, by midseason. It will take at least that long before Carr is able to carry the offense in games where the run game struggles. That's exactly what happened last season. Give them some time folks, they'll be damn good soon enough.

I'm troubled by the offensive line situation, now. A quick passing game may be a necessity if the line cannot hold up in throwing situations due to the makeshift line. it puzzles me that a master at the slot position, Hunter Renfrow, is still available. Saints could use his abilities right now. BTW James, I play pickleball with a relative of yours over here on the Gulf Coast.

This was rough; however, there is a silver lining. Falcons lost there Center and Right tackle to injury as well and it looks like they will miss multiple weeks. Note they also struggled to run the ball when it happened.
Point is we are not the only team dealing with these kind of injuries and took losses. No one expected the Broncos to blow out the Buccaneers or the Texans to lose like they did to the Vikings. I mean look at what Commanders did to the Bengals or the Panthers to the Raiders.

When you take the lead with 2 min left, an elite defense needs to hold on to that lead. It's 2 min. Play zone, force them to throw short passes. I'm honestly stunned that Allen went with man coverage in that situation. Almost like he was trying to give up a big play.
The offense did just enough to win the game when it was all said and done. Yes, the defense played lights out most of the game.....but they gave up huge plays in the worst possible situations. Low on timeouts with under a min left, the offense was going to struggle getting into FG rage either way, let alone with an OL that couldn't pass block to save their lives.
Kubiak needs to dial up zone beaters, and needs to learn how to get the defense out of their base formation if their base is great at stopping the run.
