Hey uh that bit where you asked the dev what Loop means by “don’t make the same mistakes i did” ..Not going to spoil anything in case you or anybody else hasnt seen it yet but once you beat the game you can return to doromont and loop has some… “unique” dialogue
Yes, happens when you examine the silver coin in act 4 multiple times. It’s a random event but you end up getting it. After getting it you continue and finish the game, then you to to the favor tree and you should get the second silver coin, examine that one then yours and you get the dialogue !
start watching this just cause mah boy siffrin here and stars and time be needin some love, stayed because of the unexpected quality of editing and writing
Thanks for watching and for the comment! This being my second video essay, as well as the first one heavily focused on telling a game's story, you can kinda see that I got better at it as the video goes on. I mean like, there's that one part where I let the death cutscene play out for a bit... like why isn't that voiced? But I do think the bits from 57:30 on, starting at the voiced clocktower segment, and on is a good display of what I should have been doing the whole time! But, yeah, I don't see enough talk about In Stars and Time. Where are the other video essays about it? I didn't touch the aspect of what makes you as a person if you have no background, so I'd love to hear from someone who could connect with that, like how I connected with the whole 'the only thing that matters is the end' part.
The most memorable moment in ISAT for me is actually one probably entirely unique to me. I got all the way to the king, but I had already done everything I needed to in that loop, so I figured it’d be faster to just lose to the king on purpose. Then the cutscene played, and I felt immense regret. And then Siffrin said something along the lines of “you forgot how bad it hurts” and I did forget. It was just such a personal moment that was entirely unscripted, and for that reason it stuck with me
I don't actually think I got that one. And I think that's part of what makes ISAT so interesting! There's so many things, so many lines, so many situations, that only come up once in a blue moon. So much so that you feel like it was just for you. One thing I don't remember mentioning in this video was a scene in the bathroom where Sif forgets Odile's name, and it might just be the most relatable thing I've ever read. Thank you for the comment!
For me, I don't have a specific moment that stood out, but a specific feeling. Even if the party members would forget everything when I looped back, I will still scared to make different choices and explore different places because I didn't want to upset them. There were some books or some cupboards that I knew would make them suspicious and I didn't want to deal with the potential fallout. Every time I did make the choice to 'see what happens', it was intensely stressful and I found myself holding my breath. In that sense, I was inextricably connected to Siffrin. I also experienced a similar mania that Siffrin does when something *new* happened in a loop.
Mine struck me hard... I had just finished the Bonnie quest for the first time, and was ensconced in the vibes. Then I teleported back to town, and was walking to talk to isa... And saw the banana. I knew I had to figure out what mira papers were, and what so tired of trekking through the house... I felt the knife twist, for I was the one holding it.
fun fact about a lot of the mistakes siffrin makes, like bumping into the counter and missing keys (including the initial boulder trap lever) they have very recently lost part of their vision. they are physically disabled and blaming themselves for these mistakes that they cannot help. its great i love it. its such a neat detail and it makes me insane.
Sorry, I just want you to know that you sent me and one of my girlfriends on a long source-hunting rabbit hole, trying to find any vaguely trustworthy source for this, we spent like 5 hours scouring whatever we could find... If you could link me to your source, that'd be great! I have to know, at this point. Please.
who knew watching a video about BDG, Limbus Company, and In Stars and Time at 4 am would make me cry like i havent in a while (but fr great video, i've wanted to get In Stars and Time for a while now and this just made me want to play it even more)
if it makes you feel any better, 4 am is the perfect time to cry (and edit videos that make you cry, I would know) ((also sorry (or not sorry) about making you cry))
At the time of writing this, I had just finished playing In Stars And Time about 6ish hours ago. It was possibly the greatest experience I have had with a game since Omori. The little snippets into Siffrin's views of themselves are so crucial, hinting all that time what he really wants. Yet they are unaware of it in some level. He hates to be seen, he is surprised whenever he is touched, he fears being forgotten, he fears being alone. He wants family. That's what he knows on the surface, but those feelings come from deeper, from Home Sickness, a home he can't even recall, parents and friends he can't recall. He can't recall their touch, he can't recall eating malagna fritters their parents made to the point of being sick, he can't recall eating fish with their friend, he can't recall his parents gifting him his cloak and hat that grows with him and keeps him comfortable. He can't recall the night he got mad about being given veggies and running away on a boat as an act of rebellion. He can't recall rowing back home, only to suddenly lose the memory of what happened afterwards. He recalls waking up on a beach. Where is he, who is he, where does he come from, did anyone ever love me. He stands alone at the beach, looking over to a spot in the ocean, where something is missing, but it hurts to think about. He cries, but nothing comes out of it, so it is a waste of time. If they are able to forget their family that easily, then what stops it from happening again, to themselves. Are they even real if they don't remember their own childhood? He wants someone to hold him, to confirm he is real, but what if he isn't? What if he is fake, what if he is forgotten, their existence is pointless, pointless. Even if Siffrin doesn't remember, the lack of memories of their childhood still shapes him as a person, makes him real. But he gets so hanged up on making his life have meaning, or at least have any effect, by spending every moment making others happy. And just maybe, they won't leave, like everything else did.
i decided to watch this after the chonny jash video (got ishmael jumpscared) and i honestly have no words to describe how great this video is. for the limbus company part, i like the message you got from canto v. it really showed how ishmael was slowly starting to mirror the person she wanted to kill by also believing that the ends justify the means. and for the in stars and time part, really scary how relatable siffrin became as the game progressed (not to mention we have the same pronouns). aside from that, i really enjoy the voice acting because it helped sell the mood of the scenes so well, and i also really enjoyed how the loop portion of isat was emphasized here. though i havent played isat yet, you really sold it for me. safe to say i'll be checking that game out in my spare time. overall great video, 10/10. additional 100 points for the bdg and limbus company mention
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! For something you "have no words to describe," you seem to do a pretty good job doing it! Limbus Company is just a banger of a game, and Canto V was great, and watching Ishmael succumb to her anxiety and need to kill Ahab was *very* enjoyable. I really do think that ISAT would not be as good or relatable as it is if it didn't force you to deteriorate through the loops, just like Siffrin. Yeah, I think the voice acting was pretty great for the video, as you can kinda tell since the last of the summary is mainly just voice acted parts. (It's also a really good show of how well the writing is!) The good news for you is that if you do play it, I left out a ton of stuff! I mean, the entire game is such a vibe, and I love it entirely. Thank you for the comment, and for checking out more than the Jash video! And for the comment length, don't worry about it. There's a ton to talk about when it's a 86 minute video! (And I love to read what people think about my work!) PS: When I was writing the script I really wasn't sure how he/they pronouns work? Do you just accept both? Should I be replacing him & his with them & theirs? I tried googling it but I couldn't find any solid answers. Sorry if this is over reaching, but I'm just curious!
@@Pan.Gaming for he/they pronouns, using either one or both works fine in my experience. i feel like most ppl who use two or more pronouns would be ok if you refer to them with either one of said pronouns, but some do prefer alternating between them (i.e. using he/him in one sentence and then using they/then in another). so really its a matter of whatever the person is comfortable with. in my case i don't really mind if you use just he/him or they/them.
I have been hyperfixating on these EXACT two games lately, and Ishmael is my favourite Limbus character. It's like this video was a message directly from the gods when I saw it in my recommended feed. Really loving what I've seen so far, great work!
Finished the video, the work you put into this video really paid off! I love the way you reinforce the monotony of the loops in your summary of ISAT. Also love the parallels you drew between both Ishmael and Siffrin's arcs.
Thanks for watching! When I started working on this, I felt like In Stars And Time didn't have the recognition it deserved, so I'm glad to see that it's at least popular enough to overlap with some Limbus Company players! I'm also glad that the insanity of editing the same but slightly different clips worked, because that really took a toll on me. I guess we'll see if I'll manage to hit your exact interests next time! (Probably not, but who knows?)
around about act 3 i was almost yelling at siffrin "PLEASE TALK ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR FRIENDS I PROMISE THEY WILL UNDERSTAND". imagine my shock (or lack thereof) when that turned out to be the solution to everything
In Stars And Time, or: "Siffrin's rejection-sensitive dysphoria is so bad they almost destroy the world over perceived rejection". He will simply put all his feelings in a little box somewhere and then eventually he'll die :) (In a less humorous note, part of *what* saves Ishmael from just becoming another Ahab and repeating the cycle is that she *isn't alone.* She has people surrounding her who care about her, want her to do well, and will go HEY! WHAT THE FUCK! at her when she goes too far, and who are actively watching her struggle with her problems. The Sinners as a whole might be a mess, and they're not exactly perfect people, but their influence on each other makes them *better.* And Siffrin... Siffrin only has Loop. Loop *does* care about Siffrin and want them to succeed, there's no doubt about that, but Loop... they have their own issues (there's a conversation you can have with them where they say they actually don't know what they look like!), and we can't forget they hate his fucking guts. Siffrin doesn't have an unbiased outsider to ground them -- they have someone who is just as trapped as he is, just as detached as he becomes, and both of them deflect as hard as possible when someone else tries to display real, genuine concern. We can't let people know we FEEL.)
Me and my homies all keep little boxes of our feelings and keep them out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind! Thinking about it, yeah, I did downplay how important it is to have other people around you. I don't mention Heathcliff pulling Ishmael out of the gunk during the final fight, nor the fact that Dante shouts a suggestion during the harpoon throwing cutscene. And, uh, Loop. Loop is such a funny guy, huh? It's crazy how much they hate Sif, but at the same time, Loop is the only reason Sif's final run doesn't end in disaster, by guiding the rest of the party. Both games end up pointing out how important having other people is, to save us as well as ground us. Thanks for the interesting comment!
@@Pan.Gaming OH NOOOO ITS A COMPLIMENT I LIKE THIS VIDEO A LOT :( yall were getting the emotions across so well reading out those scenes !!! and i think its fun when videos take turns like this
y'know, you don't see ISaT fans that often... but when a video about it is made, we all flock to it like moths to a light jokes aside i loved this video! and i like that you kept some of the more emotionally driven scenes fully intact (plus voice acted!!!) ive experienced every emotion that occured when playing ISaT again. thank you
Oh yeah, if you want to find more isat fans, there’s been an isat game on Roblox that people have been absolutely flocking to! I do have to agree about the video essay thing, it’s quite nice
my first playthrough of ISAT took 330 hours. i skipped almost no dialogue, barely skipped forwards or backwards, and had a friend who kept POINTING ME TOWARDS DEPRESSING EVENTS. i played it completely unspoiled by anything but my own theorizing (ended up figuring loop’s deal before it happened). it was an awesome experience.
@@louzo5175honestly, i couldn’t tell you. i thought everyone played through the whole building pretty much every time so i wasn’t on the lookout for anything. i will say it gets you the ghost event pretty much as soon as it’s available, as well as the tutorial, false confession + bad touch, touch therapy, and the hip vs counter dialogue. it makes it very plain to see when sif’s mental state deteriorates(his reaction to the naked people pictures is what comes to mind.) mostly, it makes it more clear what you can do in one loop: i completed the game in 81 loops, sif reached level 91 without any intentional grinding, and the highest level you can get the party to in one loop without intentional grinding is 65.
@@louzo5175honestly, it was a little boring HAHA sif’s rage at the tutorial sadness becomes VERY understandable. the screwed up house in act 5 fucks you up WAY more. if i uncovered anything people don’t already know about i wouldn’t know- i didn’t realize most people don’t do what i did until more than halfway through the game. things of note: it makes events like suspicion, false confession+bad touch, ghosts, tutorial aggression, touch therapy, and fuck your hip up much easier. sif’s reaction to the people doing fun things paintings gets worse as time goes on. they remark on trying to eat the frozen food sometimes. their response to the book with taciturn in it gets worse over time. their reaction to the porcelain doll changes over time but they always hug it. the highest level you can get the party to in one run without purposeful grinding is 62. OH!!! and loop won’t even OFFER the dagger to you unless you use the tears too much. if you have any specific questions i’ll try to answer them tough!!
@@louzo5175 i’ve written this comment THREE TIMES okay. i didn’t realize it was weird until i was halfway through so i didn’t pay attention. mostly it makes repetitive events easier and act five confusing. some details show sif’s mental deterioration really well - the dialogue is worth seeing. the thing with the counter is fun to see. the touch therapy event is fun to see. the room of the artist is a great showcase of this. happy to answer specific questions if you have them though!
God the rawness of your Bathroom time bit is so… just powerful in how deeply it brings Sif’s emotions a parallel in reality. It quite surprised me and was both clever and rather… appropriately uncomfortable. I am suddenly finding myself in an ISAT fandom because I randomly clicked your video in a moment of boredom. Seriously, you altered the direction of my life for decades now. Its kind of incredible
came from the chonny jash video in my recommended and seeing ishmael in it was like a flashbang to me!! had to see this and now i have a game that i really wanna play lmao the way you break down the loops for in stars and time is absolutely wonderful and it has me HOOKED. i genuinely can't wait to play it and this is the first time i've heard of it. absolutely amazing video essay and i'm shocked at the lack of views and subscribers you have
Welcome to the video I'm actually proud of! (Even if I don't sound like it in the video... you know how self-doubt goes) I believed I was taking a pretty big risk emulating the loops like that, since repeating the same bits over and over could make the video worse to watch. But, the loops is how the game gets relatable, so I knew I had to do it. I'm just glad it actually works! (Or I assume it does, since I can't watch this video without noticing like 100 things I'd want to change.) As for the views/subs bit, I was at like 390 subs before that Jash video happened, so with the flood of Jash fans that watched or subbed, I am only A LITTLE afraid of the expectation those people might have. But, like before, I'm only going to upload things that are interesting to me! So, hopefully that's what people are here for! And, also, as I said at the end of this one, I don't really care about the subs or views, but I do really enjoy the comments. I read every single one (even the Jash video). So on that note, thank you for checking out my non-Jash content, and thank you even more for the kind comment!
I want to say. First off, nice Ahab voiceacting. Second, I had DRAWN Ishmael and Siffrin in the "I think this guy needs to go" meme a while back, and seeing this, I HAD to find it again because it was so funny that this came out so much later but had the same characters. Still going through the video, but yeah!!! Third. The yellow calf always wins.
When LanCon and I played through Canto 5, Lan took the role of Ahab (since I was voicing Ishmael), and I believe his method of almost entirely ignoring the fact that Ahab is female to really emphasize the gruff pirate-like voice was a great idea. More importantly, I NEED TO SEE THE ISHMAEL/SIFFRIN meme! PLEASE let me know where to find it! (oh and enjoy the rest of the video too!)
@@Pan.GamingI ALSO REALIZED MY REPLY. DID NOT SEND??? So I am trying again!!! I did also do voiceacting when me and a few friends went through it, and while I did voice both Ish AND Ahab, I gave Ish a numbed down and bored /"so done with this" voice- and eventually got to counter it with making Ahab sound more like a theatre kid since I couldn't do a gruff voice successfully. The gruffness adds to the age so much though- and also Project Moon characters have gender. Not anything specific, just gender. So, the gruffness also adds to that, haha. You can find the image in the ISAT server!!! I kinda just. recently made something on it too and posted it in the creator's corner, but the original image I drew fully is all the way in December somewhere in fanworks! ALSO. Finished the video too at this point and. TOUGH LUCK, STARDUST!! You'll have to loop to get the plushie!! (I am being silly with this. Many people are hoping for a rerun of the siffrin plushie soon, so, hopefully, it comes back eventually!! I did order it when it was still available, and the comment reminded me that people will receive theirs soon...)
@@zexseph9017 If there's one thing we can all agree on, PM character have gender. I mean, have you seen Ozma Roland???? And, ah, yes, the ISAT server. I was considering posting this video there, but 1) I don't know where I'd post it (I mean I consider making videos an art, but does it go in the creator's corner???) 2) the social anxiety of doing that is great, i mean it took me three days to gather the courage to @ the dev on twitter Anyways, I'll have to take a look to see if I can find it! PS: Before I rewrote the ending, the original script for the plushie had me say something along the lines of, "M-Maybe I'm in a time loop. And when I wake up next it'll be before I played the game, and I can get the plushie... and then... work on the card video... and then another month and a half on this video. . . Nevermind. I'm not doing that again." Once again, thanks for the comments!
This was really really great. Me and friends have dedicated our Fridays to playing odd rpgs together for the past half year starting with omori. We voice the characters and talk about the themes and just have fun with it. I'll definitely have put sea of stars into the rotation.
Ooo! That sounds like fun! OMORI is one hell of a trip. I haven't played it myself, but even just watching ManlyBadassHero's playthrough had me emotionally invested.
Even though this is the first time ever seeing both of these series, I can also relate to both of them but more in Sif's case as I view myself as a steppingstone for others and not showing my feelings to the point that I cry when talking about my interests or making myself the centre of attention. The Moto "The end justifies the process" is something I believe in as well (even though it's flawed) as I find that all the time and all the effort can be cruel and crushing when it tries to beat you down over and over again but if the end is worth it I would go through all of the torture to achieve what I believe will make others happy or make people proud. It's a way to prove that I deserve to live so seeing Sif's trials of suffering actually made me cry for a bit. (Also Great video Pan, Keep up the great work) 👍
I'm glad that I was able to show Siffrin's story well enough to get a real reaction! (I was very worried that it wouldn't come across.) I think the deal with the whole "the ends justify the means" phrase is that it's often used as an excuse. One angle that I didn't cover that CascadianFalls suggested was covering ethics. Ahab's whale was her excuse to mistreat the crewmates and leading them to their death. (Extremely unethical) Ishmael's hunt for Ahab resulted in mistreating her coworkers. (Technically unethical) Siffrin's mindset has them ignore themself for the party... (?) ...to the point where they'd end themself. (Unethical (probably)) So, looking at this phrase with ethics in mind, we can find a (somewhat blurry) line that we shouldn't cross. To get anything done in life, it's going to take hard work, sweat, and tears. Many have to suffer to get their work done, and that suffering can be tossed away with the phrase. But, I think the important part is keeping your actions in check. It's one thing to dedicate time, effort and thoughts to a project. And it's another to skip meals or lose sleep to get a single step closer to the end. (And also don't do obviously unethical things like kill people??? Ahab??? Ishmael???) So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that remember that you are a person. You aren't just the things you do, and you deserve things like breaks, treats, and recognition.
got sucked in by projmoon being mentioned and then this essay makes me want to fall down an even bigger rabbit hole with ISAT, really good vid and i'm looking forward to if you make more stuff like this!!!
also it's really funny that this has been the third video essay i've watched so far in the past year which i've gotten jumpscared by echo being mentioned randomly
I'm glad I was able to trap another person with Project Moon before subjecting them to a short* and concise* talk about ISAT! And as for Echo, I only played it after seeing it mentioned in a video essay, and I really don't know how to feel about it. For me, it's in a constant state of being extremely interesting and 'Wow, I'd like to play any other game, please!" Thank you for the comment! I'm currently working on the next video, and it should be out by the end of Feb. It's something short and sweet though, so don't expect a monster like this one. *Not short, nor concise.
hey pan "gmaing" here, about canto 6. Loved it. To me, it really felt like it could have stood as the finally to Limbus Company. I am a little disappointed with how the whole Heathcliff/Cathy thing wrapped up, since I don't know how removing Cathy would get rid of Erlking. But, I did thoroughly enjoy it, none the less. I'm also okay with not doing a dungeon, if they're just going to continue doing basically linear routes. I am VERY excited to see the events before the next main Canto, however. I mean I still can't believe the ID we're getting for Sinclair.
Ah, it seems i have stumbled upon another long reflective retrospective piece of media that puts a considerable perspective on life, just gently flowing down youtube's recommendation wind right unto my lap, how quaint. Jokes aside, thanks for this video. The core value of this video might just be sitting back on my mind's repository just like the lots of them i've collected. I might not relate as strongly owing to the fact that i have no particular nostalgia to look back upon, no considerable hopes and dreams that might drive me into obsession, no friends to confide or share each other's burden or even aforementioned burden for that matter. But seeing your videos (and all videos and stories in the past), i still understand the feelings. Even if i've never encountered the crisis of "end justifies means" or "feeling worthless", the segments existing in this video had me realizing their existence, they feel and are real. So despite me just being a lone college student sitting in front of his laptop lazily switching between playing games, doing journal editing, and listening to this valuable masterpiece, i've gained a lot more than i realized, so thank you for this! And also thank you for trudging through countless hard work spanning through months riddled with unimaginably mind-flaying editing app crashes. I pray nobody including you and me be subjected to such torture ever. Also your mid-monologue in the bathroom sections with the 4th wall breaking bits and the other bits are unbelievably entertaining. And if there's a voice somewhere close with you incessantly telling you "that can't be" "nah, i ain't that smart" or "impossible, that's just your egotistic imagination", just remember that most likely another one person in this same world that i am existing in has the opinion that your work is lower than canine excrements. Hopefully it makes that voice shut up, at least works for me.
I'm glad that this piece was able to give some amount of value to you, as comments like yours continue to remind me that my time and effort are appreciated. I'm also very glad that the bathroom segments weren't considered 'overdone,' but, since I've made this video, I've begun to realize that there's some amount of respect I can give myself in these things, on the basis of being the person who's dedicating so much time into creating the product. (Finding the balance between respect for the work, respect for the audience, and respect for the creator is, in fact, a script I've written, but probably won't make into a video.) Thank you so much for your comment!
When playing this game, it was so difficult, relatable and I had to see it through. After it it kept me occupy for weeks after it. It gives someone so many important lessons and advice, to the point where if I played this earlier, it would've changed me a lot. This summary is just so accurate and gives so many memories of playing it.
Fun little thing to add to your "Game that make you sad" list if you haven't already, Persona 3. The new remake came out so its fresh and perfect for burning your dread.
42:13 I'm still here cause the game lasted a big impression on me and I need to reflect on what happened because.... it's a lot to digest and I feel like you did those scenes justice 56:49 also if you do listen to this, he'll keep repeating himself I think cause I actually went through most of the dialogue without skipping because it was new dialogue
I decided to wait to leave a comment after I had finished the video, and OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS AMAZING!!! I am absolutely shocked you have less than 1k subs because the quality of this is fantastic! The depths you went to in the video and your understanding of themes in the games you talked about are perfect. I had the fortune of playing through the entirety of In Stars And Time and START AGAIN: a prologue before watching this and this is really making me wanna do my second playthrough of ISAT again even sooner… I’m so happy I stumbled across your channel. Your summary of ISAT evoked the exact same feelings the game itself did and the work everyone put into the voice acting is wonderful. Absolutely beautiful work.
Thank you so much for the comment! Yeah, doing video essays is relatively new to me! This one was actually just my second one! And I recently posted my third... which, uh, has blown up??? Two days ago I was at like 390 subs, so that's crazy... but I do wish it was for this video... oh well! I haven't played START AGAIN, but I did buy it! I'm just not sure I can handle it after spending a full month and a half just thinking about ISAT and making this video. It's amazing to hear that I was able to evoke the feelings that ISAT gave me, as, at the end of the day, that's what I set out to do. I think you can tell that as I was working on it, I realized the power of voice acting the game. If I went back, I'd do way more. Anyways, once again, thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'm so glad to see the growth of popularity with In Stars And Time because it has so much rich material for commentary! This video pleased the brainworms I have of this game and introduced me to Limbus Company, awesome stuff!!
In Stars And Time is the type of game that will cause you to never feel the same again. And for some reason, it resonated with me in such a way to make a *way too long* video about it! Thank you for the comment, and I hope you enjoy Limbus Company!!! (Heathcliff's Canto 6 is actually insane. I still like Ishmael's story more, but Canto 6 feels like the finale to Limbus itself!)
22:29 Theres an event you can get to show the context behind this. Instructions is down below if you want it and dont care about spoilers :> From what i can remember you have to interact with your silver coin (idk what act to do on though, act 4 probably) to get an event, then interact with it again in front of loop/favour tree. Once that happens, talk to loop at the end of the game.
I'm glad my video was able to hit you (but hopefully not too hard!) Clearly, In Stars and Time hit me hard enough to mentally consume me until I wrote/edited this way too long video, so it's good to know I did well enough to convey my feelings on it. Thank you for the comment! (even if you can't manage the words, I'll take what I can get!)
Popped up in my recommended, instantly clicked for the ISAT summary/analysis cause it’s criminally unknown, but WOW this editing, the script… honestly, incredibly job dude, can’t wait to see what you do next.
This video REALLY made me want to play In Stars and Time! I had never heard about it before but if you were hoping to at least sell one person on the game you got me! This also reminded me I have to actually get to *playing* Canto V I had to take a break after Canto IV (it hit me in a personal spot)
Say what you will about Limbus Company, but the Cantos are peak writing. Every time I think they can't do any better, they prove me wrong! And for some reason most of the video turned out to be ISAT, so... whoops?
I've always understood that phrase, but on it's surface level, I've never thought more about it! And now, comparing Siffin's bad habit of justifying their existences with every good thing, or blaming themselves for every bad thing, now I've got to think about other media too!
You cant figure out? Here's a little hint. I came here after completing In Stars and Time and began searching it up, to see if the thing that caused me to cry and fall apart so many times affected anyone else. That's not why I've stayed. I stayed because of how clearly how clearly you shared the feelings I had and how clearly you replicated them. This was well crafted, you've made a good video.
I cant believe I am watching an hour twenty minute long video just to hear Pan admit what we all knew, LanCon is right, because LanCon is always right.
22:28 finally getting to watching this video (it’s a great video) and seeing this took me off guard in a “they don’t know” kind of way Probably knows know but man it’s fun how you can miss a certain event but this is findable and leaves a lot of questions. But yeah, great video! I’ve had this video on my watch later for months and I’ve finally gotten past my brain barrier preventing me from watching content that includes ISAT retelling for some reason It was just, yeah, it was great to watch. The Limbus Company part was also a really interesting part and I definitely need to look more into that game’s story. Thanks for taking the time to just MAKE this video!
Bravo! Omg this is an amazing video. You sell yourself much too short on giving ISAT the impact it deserves. Your reads and emotes are very impactful. Im floored, just an excellent piece all around thank you for your hard work 💗
omg. WOW. I fell in love with ISAT not too long ago. The characters, the story, the wonderful personality of the game had captivated me, but I never really thought about it on a deeper level than “hehehe.. game good”. This video opened my eyes and let me really think about the game, made me look deeper into its meaning and purpose. I didn’t know i could appreciate ISAT anymore than I already did, but man it feels like the game just got 1000x better even though nothing changed. You’ve made me see it from a perspective I would’ve probably never even consider before, thank you for helping me see that. Amazingly well done video, keep doing awesome stuff :3
My first playthrough was around 42 hours since i was looking into anything and everything to get any new lines maybe a new memory (without using guides) but when i finally did every single suspicious act and when odile yelled at me I was so emotionally down from the game already that I was like ok then lets start act 5
oh hey, what a nice overlap! the first thing I did after seeing the end of ISAT is draw Siff in Da Capo ego gear (endless performance, black and white, 2 day time loop and 50 day time loop, eyepatch lines up well with the monocle ego gift, Siff is the conductor directing the circumstances by making sure everything goes well)
you know what I thought about this more and ayin is EXTREMELY "ends justify the means" but in kind of an opposite direction to Siff (spoilers of course) Ayin trapped his friends in a time loop (knowingly in his case) and put them in the framing of actors on a stage. While in Lobcorp, the script was actually necessary and the requirement for the loop to break, in ISAT it was kinda arbitrarily adhered to by Siff for the sake of comfort and familiarity and reliving a perfect journey. Only breaking the script let Siff break out. Ayin does.... a whole lot in order to cultivate the seed of light (so many deaths and human rights violations oh my god) but mostly to other people for the sake of other people. Siff's suffering is inflicted upon himself so their friends never have to leave. Of course, Ayin has his attachment to Carmen and Siff has their massive insecurities to fuel their actions. They come from similar motivations (holding on to the memory of the old lab/the journey) but go about their goals very differently also like loop and ayin both "made" alternate versions of themselves and watched as they went through the time loops over and over maybe Siff and X would get along
hhhhh you and me both buddy. I so badly want the plushie now since I have beaten the game (also thanks for mentioning the dagger. I missed that whole interaction since I shut it down instantly and didn't think about it, and hearing that it actually leads to Sif spiraling further has definitely done something to my mental health.(I am going to respectfully hug the life out of Siffrin when I hand sew my own plushie))
The dagger. I'm glad that your Siffrin avoided that fate. I know that I was so anxious about it. About how Loop is so against it. About how Loop is forced to give you the option. About how you could back out when you're about to use it for the first time. About how long the descriptions go. I think I need a siffrin plush, and I think I need to hug it. (Thank you for the comment, and I'm sorry(?) for bringing up the dagger.)
@@Pan.Gaming oh no it's all good! It just made my heart drop since I completely forgot about that interaction and never knew it went beyond a simple conversation. Honestly I didn't know the game would actually give the player the option- I know someone else in the comments has mentioned it, but have you gotten the two hats achievement? It makes a lot of the Loop interactions burn so much more
the last 4 loops I’ve decided to watch this. each time I get near the part of the end I always loop back not being able to see the rest. 1:03:13 to 1:08:15 speaking of it I’m right at the end I hope it goes w-
i saw this video and when it got to the in stars and time part i actually got the game and played it instead of watching so thank you for showing me this game i now love!
Dear@@blakehd6131 , It has come to my attention that I may have been the cause of permanent damage to you. I am not sorry. Please enjoy your new found brain rot. I, however, am glad that I was able to get at least 1 person to buy and/or play ISAT. Thank You, Pan "Formally Writing A Letter" Post Script (or P.S.): I hope you enjoyed ISAT! I know that I felt it hard enough to accidently write a way too long script about it, and then also do just way too much work to make this video. Even if you don't/didn't watch that part of the video, I'm just happy that there's more people going through the Siffrin experience! There's no going back after that, Stardust! Oh, and, thank you for the comment!
@@Pan.Gaming there truly is no going back after playing that game blind, also siffrin makes me want to own a cloak now it looks comfy… maybe the damage is more then i thought
this is Such a good video, itll hold a place in my brain forever. the way you formatted the in stars and time portion really helped show the way the game actually feels to play, and i havent seen another video do it the way yours has, and i think thats really special.
A compliment of the highest regard! Yeah, making the ISAT section like that was very rough and time consuming, but I just felt like it had to be done. I'm just glad that my work actually, well, works. Thank you for the comment and the kind words.
Really enjoyed the video. I personally felt that the last Unraveled video was a very good wrap up and agreed with the message. Taking a few examples, the Zelda food video was all about them making it and the chaos/failure of it, the actual ratings weren't really important in the video itself. The kingdom hearts video also doesn't have a conclusion, just "wow things get weird when you do a lot of retcon-ing. The Game of the Year video is just saying "no matter what other say, your game of the year can be anything you want" without any real conclusion. The best part of the pokerap presentation was the story he told before the song, and the song was a good wrap up but only a small portion of the presentation despite being the purpose. So while I was sad to see it end and wished it went out with a bang, that was a really good wrap up to the series. From what you said it kinda seems like you have a similar feeling about it now. Also holy crap I totally forgot Pokemon edibility was teased in the E3 drinking game episode. Crazy callback As for Limbus Company, I have that developer's first two games but I wanted to go through them in order and Lobotomy Company gives me so much stress that I'm still trying to get though it so I doubt I will ever get to playing Limbus. Didn't know it was a live service game though but really cool that they are still pumping out cool stories. Don't really have any opinions on the game itself past that. Really enjoyed listening to your experience with In Stars And Time. I really enjoy time loop stories that show the character being fully beaten down and destroyed by infinite iterations of the same short span of time. I think a time loop is perfect way to show this theme since it is able to show the same initial condition affected by different means since the main problem I have with the idea "the ends justify the means" is that such a mindset is very restrictive and narrow in what it defines as the end which leads to reaching the result but invalidating the gains because of side effects of the means. In this case, the king's death means very little to Siffrin despite it being the end you are working toward for most of the game, and in the final loop it would have been totally meaningless because they hadn't overcome their own problems and they would have lost the actual result they ultimately wanted. Something about time being the thing that can break someone the most thoroughly is always interesting to me. Since it is something that we can't even begin to imagine in our normal life I can't even imagine managing to cope with it. Something about these stories always makes me wish they would end terribly. Like the whole experience was so crushing for the character that they truly are unable to recover. So I thought, and this is only taking into context the parts of the story you said in the video and would make the relatability of the story go down as well as probably being less compelling and just random guesses as I was listening to the story, Siffrin turning into the king at the end wrapping the time loop into a causal loop. Kinda showing that even fully giving up wouldn't free them from this hell. Siffrin never being able to over come his problems locking him in the nested loops until an iteration is finally able to face the problems with the assistance of the player. Though I think I might just like watching characters suffer for the thematic significance. This comment is probably incoherent but after watching I had thoughts and just wanted to try and vomit them out there. I'll watch the Commentary soon
Oooo! I love reading what people have to say, and I've got things to say back! - On BDG, my perspective has changed from the beginning of the video, as, obviously, I had to go back and watch Pokémon Edibility. It really is a good finish to the Unraveled series. I do distinctly remember not liking the Zelda food video, because the whole rating were skewed due to the rushed nature of it. I might have to go back and watch through all of them again, to see how many were tainted by my view point. And, yes, Pokémon Edibility was in the E3 video (which I loved enough to buy the shirt). I wonder if he was getting pestered to do Pokémon Edibility before the E3 video and put that in as a joke, or if that joke caused people to want him to cover Pokémon Edibility. Personally, I was hoping for a Pokémon Edibility because of the E3 video. (Also, on BDG's channel, from the 'building your online brand' video, one of the points Hugh Brandity makes is that if you were to tweet about how much you like ice cream sandwiches, expect people to constantly talk about ice cream sandwiches to you. Is this a reference to him making the Pokémon Edibility joke, resulting in people begging him for that video?) - On Project Moon, I would heavily suggest playing Limbus Company as soon as possible. It really won't spoil much (until the 4.5 SEA mini story) for either game, and you'll need to check in each day, since it's a mobile game. We're talking having an energy bar, weekly currency handouts, and just a ton of things you'll want to start stockpiling ASAP. For Lob Corp and Library, I would suggest playing them in order. But, 100% pull up the wiki for Lob Corp, specifically for the abnormalities. You'll have a significantly better time if you get a new guy and just read "Any Agent who is Level 4 or lower and tries to work with it will Panic instantly." Just don't read anything under spoilers, and just the abnormalities pages. As for Library, maybe, *maybe* try some quality of life add-ons. You don't need too, but it might help you maintain sanity. And remember to take breaks. You might get an hour into a fight, just for you to lose on a die roll. (And, also, Limbus Company's combat is just a heavily simplified version of Library.) - On In Stars And Time, I think it's very interesting how Siffrin's mindset changes through the game. Every time he does something he thought would end the loop, he spirals while laying in that field. But, every time, Sif talks with Loop, they're able to come up with a new goal. Even at the start of the loops, Siffrin literally thinks, "As long as I have something to aim for, I'm fine." (Paraphrasing, I'm not going to go find the quote.) So, Sif moves from killing the king, to getting to know the party, to (redacted 3rd thing), to looking into more about wishcraft/timecraft, and finally back to what started this. Killing the King. Sif really isn't any different from the start, other then that they are failing to hide their feelings. - SPOILERS FOR PARTS OF ISAT I DIDN'T COVER: You want a bad ending to a time loop story? Ha! The biggest part I didn't mention can be summarized in two words: The Country. An entire island north of Vaugarde 'disappeared' in the past years. Well... it didn't really disappear. No one can remember anything about The Country or anything that comes from it. Guess who's from The Country? Siffrin and The King. The King wants to freeze Vaugarde to make sure nothing ever happens to it. Quite a lot of Siffrin's concerns come from the fact that they don't know who they are. Most of what I cut out is discovering things about the King, about Siffrin, and about the Country. If you wondered why I say things like "read a book you couldn't before," it's because Siffrin gains a memory to read things written in their language. And time for the other major cut content. Who do you think Loop is? Why would Loop say that weird thing during the skipping dialogue cutscene? What was that cutscene at the start of the game? I go over some of these things in the Directors Commentary. So you'll have a better idea of what I'm getting at here if you listen to that instead of laying it all out here. Overall, thank you so much for the comment! You might call it incoherent, but I call it passionate. I'm just glad I was able to spark such thoughts, and I hope my words aren't insanely rambly.
Came for isat and limbus stayed for the editing style, great video i really enjoyed watching 22:26 there's an explaination in game of this i explain how to get it below Interact with your coin until you remember the incident, then interact with it again next to loop and if after finishing the game you go back to them....
First parts ishmael and why its Ahab's fault second part... *don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, don't want this moment to end, *don't want this moment to end*
this video was fantastic, and a wonderful new perspective on isat for me. though i feel theres some additional similarities to point out when it comes to twohats. (spoiler warning for that) - - - ahab insisting that she and ishmael are one in the same due to their shared obsession, thanks to what ahab has molded her into, as ahab guided ishmael's actions for so long... loop and sif quite literally being the same, with loop's guidance helping siffrin through the loops... both loop and ahab breaking when they realize that THEY did not get the ending THEY felt THEY deserved. thanks to ishmael/siffrin having dante/loop to guide them on the right path. i'm not good at phrasing things like this, but there's DEFINITELY something there (i havent watched the directors commentary yet so theres a good chance you talk about this there but idk, i really want to get this off my chest)
Something I find really sad in stars and time that isn't put into focus at all, is that in the one loop where the party go the house without Siffrin, because loop ask them to stay to the tree, they do get to the king. Can you imagine what it must mean for Siffrin? They didn't miss any keys or important switches. They would literally be better of without him leading. Of course it's mostly their fault for letting Siffrin do all the exploring without helping but it must really hurt for him to think they would do a better job without him.
This game has made me feel feelings that i cannot easily describe Kind of like a profound sadness that feels satisfying? Like its good to feel really sad in a way that heals? I don't know I.... Have a hard time moving on from this game; i'm not sure i ever can.
Finally got the chance to watch this (since I wanted to finish ISAT before I watched this, and I finally got around to beating it) and honestly I think it's one of, if not, the best game I've played. It's up there with the likes of oneshot. If any of yall loved ISAT, try giving Oneshot a try. It's shorter (~8hrs playtime) but it's a really really amazing game and Niko is the best. Anyways, great video :D I really liked how you did the time loop thingy (showing just how repetitive ISAT gets, and just why it matters so much) and I think you pulled it off really well. In the end it only took me like a month to finally get around to playing the game after watching the CJ video, and I'm glad i finally watched this one :3
Eyyy! Welcome back! I'm glad you enjoyed ISAT as much as I did, and you can clearly how much I enjoyed it with this video. Fun fact: The immediate next game I played after making this video is, in fact, OneShot! It's *very* good, and I really enjoyed it. I actual had a video idea before I started it, but I was very wrong with where the games goes, so the idea got scraped. I did record my play through, so, if I talk about it in the future, I'll have my genuine reactions to work with! Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed ISAT as well as my video, which might have just been a ton of review to you so... uh... sorry? But, you seem to get what I was going for with the repetitive nature of the video, so I'm glad that worked out. I just hope that one day you might learn to forgive me... for introducing you to the brain rot that is ISAT. It is terminal.
2nd commentary after i finished watching the video (xd don't ask why there was a break of 6 hours i got distracted by real life stuff) i myself relate to Siffrin a lot; not just because of the mindset, but also because.. the experience; now i myself never experienced time looping-but in my past.. i did experience repeat. after repeat. after repeat. of certain events; no matter how many times i tried to fit in. they still repeated. no matter how many times i changed. they still repeated. no matter how good or bad i was in general i still kept going through them over and over again-being unable to bond with others closely, going through bullying and discrimination, being heartbroken, things like that; over. and over. and over. and over. and over-so to me, Siffrin feels very relatable on a deeply personal level, as they feel like they represent very well how i used to be in the past, before i myself was eventually broken from the "loop" that was my past
I don't know if I like the fact that my brain is just addicted to ISAT, I watched two videos on it yesterday (100% completion video, then a summary video, both from the same person, and yes in that order). The entire story message just resonates with me way too much and I had a mental breakdown yesterday due to it. The vibe of, I don't want people to dislike me and thinking about every action I do not wanting to squander this good thing I got going. Knowing that I'll probably just be alone for the rest of my life, yay mental health and social anxiety. Even though ive watched now 3 hours worth of ISAT long form videos I still want to buy the game and play it knowing I 100% wont play it, because hey I got the message I saw the story, I read the dialouge, might be like FNV though where it's still worth playing but that's a later decision that I'll forget. I both find it funny how the ISAT is over 70% of the video and it fits, it allows you to reference to stuff, allows you to put in good humor referencing previous segments that some people might've zoned out on (so siffrin), and by the end it tied up well, with the stuff about limbus not being too far behind that you forget about it, there 100% was still whiplash but 8/10 video. tldr: overly personal vent that is +1 engagement because I like how you made the video
Clicked on this great video cause I saw Ishmael and I'm a big project moon fan, but Ima stop half way through here because I want to play In stars and time and don't want to spoiler literally everything soo
Ishmael best sinner. Who could disagree with that hair! And that mental illness! I hope you enjoy(ed) the "crossover" ...or more like accidently talking about ISAT for way, way too long!
@@Pan.Gaming nah I think the pacing of the video is appropriate because limbus has been mildly popular for about a year or so while ISAT is relatively new in the general public consciousness so time allocation is decently appropriate. [Also new media makes the autism get specifically funny so honestly real] [also I want to steal the genders of both Ishmael and Odile I need to be them right now so much bsjsiwhdjwjssh]
I think Blue Eye Samurai is also a really great piece of media (TV show) that depicts the true consequences of 'the ends justifying the means'. I recommend it .w.
My guy. Pan. Panthiel. Pandemonium. Bestie. I. Fuckin cried (not an achievement but y'know). Your voice? The emotion? The descent into fuckin madness along with Siffrin? Bestie, I'm sold. 11/10 video, fuck you (affectionate).
Hey uh that bit where you asked the dev what Loop means by “don’t make the same mistakes i did”
..Not going to spoil anything in case you or anybody else hasnt seen it yet but once you beat the game you can return to doromont and loop has some… “unique” dialogue
Thats only apparently if a certain event had already happened in the game.
Yes, happens when you examine the silver coin in act 4 multiple times. It’s a random event but you end up getting it. After getting it you continue and finish the game, then you to to the favor tree and you should get the second silver coin, examine that one then yours and you get the dialogue !
@@Pinkfifi3 You also need to show Loop the coin after you get The Incident afaik
“hey, me from a month later here
this makes me sad now”
start watching this just cause mah boy siffrin here and stars and time be needin some love, stayed because of the unexpected quality of editing and writing
Ay can you try limbus company is really good
Same here
Funny enough, even though Loop had JUST told me I was allergic to pineapples, I chose the pineapples first. I think my memory is as good as Siffrin's.
He just loves the spice lmao
I remembered but the intrusive thoughts won
"Fun Fact" about the sadnesses, theyre all french words and terms about grief, and Siffrin's in particular is the term for Home Sickness
i can make it sadder and tell u if you go with the most literal translation its "Country Sickness"
Same vibe as the Memory of Daggers
I felt the knife twist, for I was the one holding it.
fun fact about a lot of the mistakes siffrin makes, like bumping into the counter and missing keys (including the initial boulder trap lever)
they have very recently lost part of their vision. they are physically disabled and blaming themselves for these mistakes that they cannot help. its great i love it. its such a neat detail and it makes me insane.
Siffrin: I'll keep all my emotions right here, and then one day, I'll die.
Stfu Don't call me out like that

who knew watching a video about BDG, Limbus Company, and In Stars and Time at 4 am would make me cry like i havent in a while (but fr great video, i've wanted to get In Stars and Time for a while now and this just made me want to play it even more)
if it makes you feel any better, 4 am is the perfect time to cry
(and edit videos that make you cry, I would know)
((also sorry (or not sorry) about making you cry))
And just maybe, they won't leave, like everything else did.
i decided to watch this after the chonny jash video (got ishmael jumpscared) and i honestly have no words to describe how great this video is. for the limbus company part, i like the message you got from canto v. it really showed how ishmael was slowly starting to mirror the person she wanted to kill by also believing that the ends justify the means. and for the in stars and time part, really scary how relatable siffrin became as the game progressed (not to mention we have the same pronouns). aside from that, i really enjoy the voice acting because it helped sell the mood of the scenes so well, and i also really enjoyed how the loop portion of isat was emphasized here. though i havent played isat yet, you really sold it for me. safe to say i'll be checking that game out in my spare time.
overall great video, 10/10. additional 100 points for the bdg and limbus company mention
just realized this comment was longer than i expected erm oops
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! For something you "have no words to describe," you seem to do a pretty good job doing it!
Limbus Company is just a banger of a game, and Canto V was great, and watching Ishmael succumb to her anxiety and need to kill Ahab was *very* enjoyable.
I really do think that ISAT would not be as good or relatable as it is if it didn't force you to deteriorate through the loops, just like Siffrin.
Yeah, I think the voice acting was pretty great for the video, as you can kinda tell since the last of the summary is mainly just voice acted parts. (It's also a really good show of how well the writing is!)
The good news for you is that if you do play it, I left out a ton of stuff! I mean, the entire game is such a vibe, and I love it entirely.
Thank you for the comment, and for checking out more than the Jash video! And for the comment length, don't worry about it. There's a ton to talk about when it's a 86 minute video! (And I love to read what people think about my work!)
PS: When I was writing the script I really wasn't sure how he/they pronouns work?
1:19:44 the sudden whiplash I get when being reminded that the video is also about Ishmael was hilarious
I completed the entire game without knowing you could use that damned banana to loop
You learn something new every day, I suppose
I'm so sorry for your loss.
At least your Siffrin doesn't get sick at the sight of bananas?
Yeah that's likely a good thing
Same. I had to get to that stupid boulder every time I wanted to loop forward from Dormont.
I didn't learn until I was in like act 5 lol wish I realised that soon
Hello fellow Siffrin and Mind Wh--Ishmael enjoyer!
around about act 3 i was almost yelling at siffrin "PLEASE TALK ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR FRIENDS I PROMISE THEY WILL UNDERSTAND". imagine my shock (or lack thereof) when that turned out to be the solution to everything
In Stars And Time, or: "Siffrin's rejection-sensitive dysphoria is so bad they almost destroy the world over perceived rejection". He will simply put all his feelings in a little box somewhere and then eventually he'll die :)
(In a less humorous note, part of *what* saves Ishmael from just becoming another Ahab and repeating the cycle is that she *isn't alone.* She has people surrounding her who care about her, want her to do well, and will go HEY! WHAT THE FUCK! at her when she goes too far, and who are actively watching her struggle with her problems. The Sinners as a whole might be a mess, and they're not exactly perfect people, but their influence on each other makes them *better.*
And Siffrin...
Thanks for the interesting comment!
me in the middle of one of the best recreations of my favorite video games: hey remember when this was about unraveled and anime girl ishmael
yeah, sorry, video got too long, yeah. sorry, it won't happen again (please don't check my other videos).
I hope you enjoyed the video!
@@Pan.Gaming OH NOOOO ITS A COMPLIMENT I LIKE THIS VIDEO A LOT :( yall were getting the emotions across so well reading out those scenes !!! and i think its fun when videos take turns like this
y'know, you don't see ISaT fans that often... but when a video about it is made, we all flock to it like moths to a light
jokes aside i loved this video! and i like that you kept some of the more emotionally driven scenes fully intact (plus voice acted!!!) ive experienced every emotion that occured when playing ISaT again. thank you
Oh yeah, if you want to find more isat fans, there’s been an isat game on Roblox that people have been absolutely flocking to!
I do have to agree about the video essay thing, it’s quite nice
The fact you made the sentence "And there was no Hat," force tears out of me so easily.
In Stars and Time, or "The mortifying ordeal of being known"
my first playthrough of ISAT took 330 hours. i skipped almost no dialogue, barely skipped forwards or backwards, and had a friend who kept POINTING ME TOWARDS DEPRESSING EVENTS.
i played it completely unspoiled by anything but my own theorizing (ended up figuring loop’s deal before it happened). it was an awesome experience.
your analysis is fucking STUPIDLY well done. thank you for sharing.
How was it not skipping anything? Was there anything hidden in something everyone dont read into?
@@louzo5175honestly, i couldn’t tell you. i thought everyone played through the whole building pretty much every time so i wasn’t on the lookout for anything.
i will say it gets you the ghost event pretty much as soon as it’s available, as well as the tutorial, false confession + bad touch, touch therapy, and the hip vs counter dialogue. it makes it very plain to see when sif’s mental state deteriorates(his reaction to the naked people pictures is what comes to mind.)
mostly, it makes it more clear what you can do in one loop: i completed the game in 81 loops, sif reached level 91 without any intentional grinding, and the highest level you can get the party to in one loop without intentional grinding is 65.
@@louzo5175honestly, it was a little boring HAHA
sif’s rage at the tutorial sadness becomes VERY understandable. the screwed up house in act 5 fucks you up WAY more.
if i uncovered anything people don’t already know about i wouldn’t know- i didn’t realize most people don’t do what i did until more than halfway through the game.
things of note: it makes events like suspicion, false confession+bad touch, ghosts, tutorial aggression, touch therapy, and fuck your hip up much easier. sif’s reaction to the people doing fun things paintings gets worse as time goes on. they remark on trying to eat the frozen food sometimes. their response to the book with taciturn in it gets worse over time. their reaction to the porcelain doll changes over time but they always hug it.
the highest level you can get the party to in one run without purposeful grinding is 62. OH!!! and loop won’t even OFFER the dagger to you unless you use the tears too much.
if you have any specific questions i’ll try to answer them tough!!

Its kind of incredible
came from the chonny jash video in my recommended and seeing ishmael in it was like a flashbang to me!! had to see this and now i have a game that i really wanna play lmao
the way you break down the loops for in stars and time is absolutely wonderful and it has me HOOKED. i genuinely can't wait to play it and this is the first time i've heard of it. absolutely amazing video essay and i'm shocked at the lack of views and subscribers you have
Welcome to the video I'm actually proud of! (Even if I don't sound like it in the video... you know how self-doubt goes)
I believed I was taking a pretty big risk emulating the loops like that, since repeating the same bits over and over could make the video worse to watch. But, the loops is how the game gets relatable, so I knew I had to do it. I'm just glad it actually works! (Or I assume it does, since I can't watch this video without noticing like 100 things I'd want to change.)
As for the views/subs bit, I was at like 390 subs before that Jash video happened, so with the flood of Jash fans that watched or subbed, I am only A LITTLE afraid of the expectation those people might have.
Ahab voice here, to say thank you!
I'm also here to say that This Entire Video is Siffrin's Fault!
Wait, no, that's not right
@@LanCon-nl8tl It's totally Siffrin's fault, Ishmael is the one in a time loop! Ahab says there's something breaking, rotting-
but yw!!! :D
@@zexseph9017
If there's one thing we can all agree on, PM character have gender. I mean, have you seen Ozma Roland????
And, ah, yes, the ISAT server. I was considering posting this video there, but
1) I don't know where I'd post it (I mean I consider making videos an art, but does it go in the creator's corner???)
2) the social anxiety of doing that is great, i mean it took me three days to gather the courage to @ the dev on twitter
Anyways, I'll have to take a look to see if I can find it!
PS: Before I rewrote the ending, the original script for the plushie had me say something along the lines of,
"M-Maybe I'm in a time loop. And when I wake up next it'll be before I played the game, and I can get the plushie... and then... work on the card video... and then another month and a half on this video. . . Nevermind. I'm not doing that again."
Once again, thanks for the comments!
I gotta say
I finished isat and I am full of regret that I can't travel back in time and get that blinding Sif plush
(I was very worried that it wouldn't come across.)
I think the deal with the whole "the ends justify the means" phrase is that it's often used as an excuse.
One angle that I didn't cover that CascadianFalls suggested was covering ethics.
Ahab's whale was her excuse to mistreat the crewmates and leading them to their death. (Extremely unethical)
Ishmael's hunt for Ahab resulted in mistreating her coworkers. (Technically unethical)
Siffrin's mindset has them ignore themself for the party... (?)
...to the point where they'd end themself. (Unethical (probably))
So, looking at this phrase with ethics in mind, we can find a (somewhat blurry) line that we shouldn't cross.
Ahab??? Ishmael???)
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that remember that you are a person.
For me, it's in a constant state of being extremely interesting and 'Wow, I'd like to play any other game, please!"
Thank you for the comment! I'm currently working on the next video, and it should be out by the end of Feb. It's something short and sweet though, so don't expect a monster like this one.
*Not short, nor concise.
@@Pan.Gaming ive honestly only heard of echo from random mentions and it being called "furry higurashi" from my friends
gl on the video in february :]
coming back to ask your opinions on canto 6 🫡
hey pan "gmaing" here, about canto 6.
This is the most eclectic mix topics I've ever watched. And I love it.
42:13 I'm still here cause the game lasted a big impression on me and I need to reflect on what happened because.... it's a lot to digest and I feel like you did those scenes justice
56:49 also if you do listen to this, he'll keep repeating himself I think cause I actually went through most of the dialogue without skipping because it was new dialogue
I stuck around! I listened through it all because In Stars and Time is the best thing to exist and I love hearing how people experience it differently
I fucking love ISAT so much, this game absolutely wrecked me when I played it (so much so I immediately cosplayed Siffrin)
Instructions is down below if you want it and dont care about spoilers :>
From what i can remember you have to interact with your silver coin (idk what act to do on though, act 4 probably) to get an event, then interact with it again in front of loop/favour tree. Once that happens, talk to loop at the end of the game.
Thank you, so much, for making this. It uh has hit me in a place, in a way I can't put into the words
I'm glad my video was able to hit you (but hopefully not too hard!)
Clearly, In Stars and Time hit me hard enough to mentally consume me until I wrote/edited this way too long video, so it's good to know I did well enough to convey my feelings on it.
And for some reason most of the video turned out to be ISAT, so... whoops?
"Who would watch this whole thing?"
Me. I am watching this whole thing.
You have no idea how hyped i was when this popped into my recommendations
I really enjoyed this one, what a lovely meditation on motivation. Thanks for this!
41:44 this bit is just amazing
I've always understood that phrase, but on it's surface level, I've never thought more about it! And now, comparing Siffin's bad habit of justifying their existences with every good thing, or blaming themselves for every bad thing, now I've got to think about other media too!
I'm seeing this video after getting isat a couple weeks ago and somehow spending over 100 hours playing it... Awesome video!
22:28 finally getting to watching this video (it’s a great video) and seeing this took me off guard in a “they don’t know” kind of way
Probably knows know but man it’s fun how you can miss a certain event but this is findable and leaves a lot of questions.
But yeah, great video!
I’ve had this video on my watch later for months and I’ve finally gotten past my brain barrier preventing me from watching content that includes ISAT retelling for some reason
It was just, yeah, it was great to watch. The Limbus Company part was also a really interesting part and I definitely need to look more into that game’s story.
Thanks for taking the time to just MAKE this video!
I am now also now strapping in for the Director Commentary of this video because I am a sucker for that sort of stuff
Lovely video, perfectly captures the feeling of In Stars And Time!
oh hey, what a nice overlap! the first thing I did after seeing the end of ISAT is draw Siff in Da Capo ego gear (endless performance, black and white, 2 day time loop and 50 day time loop, eyepatch lines up well with the monocle ego gift, Siff is the conductor directing the circumstances by making sure everything goes well)
you know what I thought about this more and ayin is EXTREMELY "ends justify the means" but in kind of an opposite direction to Siff (spoilers of course)
Ayin trapped his friends in a time loop (knowingly in his case) and put them in the framing of actors on a stage. They come from similar motivations (holding on to the memory of the old lab/the journey) but go about their goals very differently
also like loop and ayin both "made" alternate versions of themselves and watched as they went through the time loops over and over maybe Siff and X would get along
I've got into both of these, now I wonder, what have I gotten myself into.
hhhhh you and me both buddy. I so badly want the plushie now since I have beaten the game
(also thanks for mentioning the dagger.
Honestly I didn't know the game would actually give the player the option-

this is Such a good video, itll hold a place in my brain forever. the way you formatted the in stars and time portion really helped show the way the game actually feels to play, and i havent seen another video do it the way yours has, and i think thats really special.
Crazy callback
As for Limbus Company, I have that developer's first two games but I wanted to go through them in order and Lobotomy Company gives me so much stress that I'm still trying to get though it so I doubt I will ever get to playing Limbus.
Is this a reference to him making the Pokémon Edibility joke, resulting in people begging him for that video?)
- On Project Moon, I would heavily suggest playing Limbus Company as soon as possible. (And, also, Limbus Company's combat is just a heavily simplified version of Library.)
- On In Stars And Time, I think it's very interesting how Siffrin's mindset changes through the game.
- SPOILERS FOR PARTS OF ISAT I DIDN'T COVER:
You want a bad ending to a time loop story?
Isaboo. Cuz he's your boo.
Came for isat and limbus stayed for the editing style, great video i really enjoyed watching
22:26 there's an explaination in game of this i explain how to get it below
Interact with your coin until you remember the incident, then interact with it again next to loop and if after finishing the game you go back to them....
Stars that was a good video... Incredible! I'm so so so glad I watched this!
THIS VIODEO DOESNT HAVE LIKE A MILLION VIEWS YET WTHHH
First parts ishmael and why its Ahab's fault
second part...
(spoiler warning for that)

ahab insisting that she and ishmael are one in the same due to their shared obsession, thanks to what ahab has molded her into, as ahab guided ishmael's actions for so long... loop and sif quite literally being the same, with loop's guidance helping siffrin through the loops... both loop and ahab breaking when they realize that THEY did not get the ending THEY felt THEY deserved. thanks to ishmael/siffrin having dante/loop to guide them on the right path. i'm not good at phrasing things like this, but there's DEFINITELY something there (i havent watched the directors commentary yet so theres a good chance you talk about this there but idk, i really want to get this off my chest)
piece of interaction to up engagement on worthy video
Hey, wanted to thank you for introducing me to project moon with this video.
I've been waiting for in stars and time to become more popular and get some love, it brings a tear to My eye seeing this video with in stars and time.
no fkn way isat and pm in the same video? absolutely peak
In stars and time easily made my list for game of the year when I played it,
This game has made me feel feelings that i cannot easily describe
Kind of like a profound sadness that feels satisfying? Like its good to feel really sad in a way that heals?
I don't know
I.... Have a hard time moving on from this game; i'm not sure i ever can.
So! There’s a new Siffrin plushie on sale right now! Not sure if the hat’s removable though
Polygon and isat in the same video? What is this a crossover event?
3:32 my reaction to hearing the name kromer was completely different lol, the deltarune hyperfixation is all-consuming
Dang ! I didn't expect these 2 fandoms to meet and also AWAKEN PM AGENTS !
I'm sorry an hour and a half video essay on my two most niche games I became hopelessly hyperfixated on this year?????? Sign me the fuck up.
1:22:37 Same. A feeling of missing out on something
39:57 please tell me I’m not the only one seeing letters in the stars?
28:16 "Siffrin finds themself alone in their bathroom stall"
yeah no almost like that's the point of stalls lmao (great video though)
Yeh I am devastated that I cannot get my very own Siffrin plush.
Clicked on this great video cause I saw Ishmael and I'm a big project moon fan, but Ima stop half way through here because I want to play In stars and time and don't want to spoiler literally everything soo
Do it! Play In Stars and Time! Play it, then come back after and let me know how it went!
I wish I could relive my first ISAT experience foreve- wait why do I smell sugar...?
Ah yes. The thing that inspired me to write a whole fanfic. (It isn't done)
Oh nice, someone played the Mental Illness game that has consumed my every waking thought the last 3 months!
please tell me youve figured out how to stop thinking about game, please, please tell me youve done it
@@Pan.Gaming Im afraid not, those dastardly French and their incredible timeloop games
Oh boy my two current hyperfixations have a crossover episode! Cant wait to sit down and fan the flames ye dogs and lubbers!
Also best sinner of the group is so real she's me frfr I love women with mental illnesses
I watched this entire video, and I appreciate your summary ❤
I think Blue Eye Samurai is also a really great piece of media (TV show) that depicts the true consequences of 'the ends justifying the means'. I recommend it .w.
Came for Ishmael, stayed because this fucking broke me.
Okay so!! If the Loop plushie sells 2.5k in total then we'll get a re-run of the Siffrin plushie!!
xd i wonder if you saw the achievements with special dialogue and the 2nd ending; this is gonna twist your heart even more lol
My guy. Pan. Panthiel. Pandemonium.
Bestie.
I. Fuckin cried (not an achievement but y'know). Your voice? The emotion? The descent into fuckin madness along with Siffrin? Bestie, I'm sold. 11/10 video, fuck you (affectionate).
