Legacy is an organisation formed to care for the partners and children of those who lost their lives or health to war. In my case it provided my mother with a self care unit at a well run retirement village in her final years. My father was an Australian Army infantry company commander in New Guinea. He suffered from the effects of tropical diseases and everything else that went with that awful campaign, and died at a fairly young. Legacy is one of those organisations that does great work, and gets things done without much fuss or attention.
Legacy helps the Widows, Widowers & their children, where a partner has died during a conflict or has died from a health problem caused by that conflict. My Dad developed chronic life long health problems caused by fighting overseas during the war. My Dad died over 20 years ago & Legacy has been helping us. I go to a group every couple of months which is for grown up children of deceased veterans that have disabilities. They also have an under 18's group. My Mum & myself have been helped out a number of times. They always could do with more donations. In Australia 🇦🇺 our family is helped out Legacy Melbourne.
Thats what we did on a Saturday night , with the whole family, in Australia. We sit back infront of the telly/tv mum and dad on the lounge/ couch , kids lying on tummies on floor with our snacks(sharing of course), and watch Hey Hey its Saturday. The best of times back then with the family and very funny with lots of laughs. I miss those days.
100% those were the days, we all loved the same fun rubbish too numerous to list. Just good laughs and fun to be silly with each other and we all knew the ‘pun lines’. Well Done Darryl and Hey Hey crew. Fabulous life we had.
That kinda gives me the impression that multiple people had been Plucka Duck over the course of the show’s run. I don’t know if that’s actually the case, though…
My favourite Plucka moment was when he gave the contestant a heap of Plucka merchandise, then asked for money. When Darryl told him he can't charge the contestant, he took the stuff back.

The original Pluck-a-duck spinning thing, they used whole fresh chickens, like from KFC. It got a bit messy and smelly so they switched to the plush ones.

Hey Hey was popular because you had your mates around and half watch while you 'pre-loaded' ready to go out to nightclubs after it was over. The more you loaded, the funnier it got.
Remember Saturday mornings the original time slot before the adult content often put them on a slippery slope with tv censorship and moved to evenings . Remember when we would record the whole show on VHS

Plucka Duck, Dickie Knee, Chook Lotto, Red Faces (who can forget the Bobsled team) ? Growing up Australian = very lucky, and no knee-sawn's anywhere 😂
You’ve gotta find the best of Plucka Duck.
Take a Chance Ryan! 😁🦜 I think it is Willy the sax player! 🎷 Wow great prizes! 🧐🤔 More, more ... A Music segment? 🙋👍
Nah, i don't think its Wilbur, cos he's very tall, and Darryl is a short arse, compare plucka and Daz side by side, about the same height, I reckon it was Russell Gilbert?..???
@@aussiebornandbred Ok yeah, Russell was a regular and a bit looney! 😂
Gotta love that flypaper hanging from Ryan's ceiling. I think that went out of fashion here well before Plucka Duck.
In the beginning they used to hurl frozen chickens. One time someone left the freezer off and they were all rotten but show went on!
