Damn if you heard about how my pops treated me and what we went through your head would spin, but yet he was a pure provider, hard working man but he told me he was sorry and he gave me a hug but I didn't know how to really accept it...even on his Death bed he called for me specifically after I prayed he come out of a coma, it was a sign I felt like it was a sign to fully make amends, I still went to the hospital he couldn't talk but he can hear and I looked him in the eyes told him to not worry I forgive and still love him he started to tear up as well as me....We stayed few hours he was still hearing us but in and out next day he went back into a coma and We had to pull his plug, that shit made me cry like a baby. I really didn't have a good relationship with my dad although I wished it was better. It was tough I can't go into deep details but I can never do what this Girl done. Smh Let the dead rest you never know what they went through in their lives.

I understand what you mean. My father died when I was 15 and I never got to really know him cause i was a little shithead. He died of a blood clot, in a hospital bed, and no one told me anything until my mom pulled me out of school. I could not say good bye. Hear him tell me it will be ok, nothing. Still to this day, I think “would he be proud of me? Am I at least his equal as a man or am I doing better?” But I know one thing, for the sake of art, or I’m just grieving, I would never speak Ill of that man. He gave me a great foundation and I still love him.

She called her Billionaire Father a “xenophobic, white supremacist, trump loving cis white male who is racist”. She didn’t mention anything beyond political labels so our takeaway is that their difference was very politically driven. Could be more to it but she didn’t show that so take her at her word.
Also, relationships change overtime, your parents often go from mom & dad to friends once you get older. Eventually you often even become their caretakers but it isnt just the roles. Your parents can change so however rigid the political stances may be, know that parent/child dynamics are rarely linear so just know there is hope out there for your relationship.

Wow, this is truly painful for me.
Throughout my childhood, I feel like I loved my parents, but disliked them subconsciously or consciously. But, I think that was because I had notions about how an ideal family should be and failed to see them for the individuals they were. I’ve gone through my areas of resentment by they all have stemmed from a deep familial longing, which was always reciprocated, but I being a dumb, shallow kid, failed to notice it. They day I realised my narrow perspectives, my God, I was filled with so much guilt, pain, and regret.
Everyone has their way of showing love. Just like you expect people to cater to yours, you gotta cater to theirs. Their beliefs come from their experiences, your beliefs come from yours. It’s not right to dismiss either. Especially not if it’s your loved ones. Fighting over beliefs is useless, understanding where and how that belief came to be is what will sustain a family. Fathers and daughters especially have very different forms of communication and ways to emote. So, very often daughters fail to see the unconditional love our dads have for us. I’m tearing up as I type this cause it took me so much time to understand my father.
I always try to tell him how he means to me. We at times barely talk cause how busy both are, but my God, I swear, when I see him, I just- feel so warm, protected, loved and cared for. He’s always behind the scenes, fighting for our family and he means the entire universe to me. I wish to make him proud. I don’t know if anyone cares for me as much as he does. He has been through so many hardships, so much struggle. Struggle that I will probably never understand but will always try to, because of the beautiful life he has given us. His growth actually inspires me. He has done so much for us. He’s so strong, so resilient and so kind. My vocabulary is too limited to describe how much of a gem he is. I’m very very grateful and I hope he is protected. I’m proud of my dad. I love him, and pray for him. I hope one day, I can make him proud and protect him the way he does.
    I’m full on bawling now.

Don't ever, ...EEEEEEEVER EVER EVER fall in line with these institutionalized dipshits in the comments that think respecting a parent is some kind of absolute law. He didn't slave away, picket in the streets to have the right to adopt or conceive you, fly across the world, fight in courts, etc. to get you. So you being given life isn't something to be grateful for unless two SANE, decent, $table, kind, in love ppl actively SOUGHT to make a family. And them bothering to feed, clothe, clean, & shelter you deserves no praise either. The LAW requires it, and if they can't do the job they should have given you up for adoption or used contraception in the first place. I think your response to things defines your character a lot. There's a quote that goes something like:
"two boys were raised by an alcoholic father. One grew up to be an alcoholic and when asked what happened he said 'I watched my father.' The other grew up and never drank in his life. When asked what happened he said 'I watched my father.'"
Things like these are really character defining. You can understand why people respond how they do, yes, but you can also recognize that they are horrible people as a result of their response. She's a horrible person. Her TikToks are very telling as well.

Me and my brothers are conservative while our parents are liberal. The worst things that we did politically to each other was flood the others' phones with stupid memes mocking the other side. But we had a great Thanksgiving and we can't wait to see each other on Christmas and stay till New Year's. Needless to say, I will miss my parents dearly when that dreaded day comes that we have to bury them.

I’m 25 now, my dad passed several years ago and now I have a baby. He had his flaws but him and I had a great relationship. You guys touched on a lot of good points. First off, the mourning of what could have been and what was to come hits hard. I wish I had time to sit and talk with him for advice. I was too young/self involved to really head his words or see how he acted as an adhesive for familial issues. You know I never new my grandpa on his side either because he passed away while my dad was young. I used to wonder what it’d be like to know him and now I understand how my father would and now i constantly think of what my son will miss out on. I’m not complaining or nothing because I was very fortunate to have an extremely active father in my life. We need to fulfill our roles as men and not focus on conquests like much of the mens rights figures of today would have you believe, but we need to ensure our relationships with the ones we love have a sturdy foundation with room for an empire to grow. Might sound like a gay analogy but that’s where I’ve been at lately.

You clearly have bought into the narrative of the negative stereotyping of Men's Rights. They are not pick up artists that use women before those very same women use men. MRAs are about not getting f*** in Family Court or get Me2, etc.; and have your life thrown in the toilet because a woman chooses to do so. Telling women that certain actions that many women do is not misogynistic. They are awful because they face no consequences. They are overly rewarded for doing what their body is naturally supposed to do.
Fathers are important and MRAs have been at the front lines fighting the female supremacists.

My mom passed completely unexpected this year and lemme say that rage has been my biggest challenge. I was 23, about a month out from 24. Im still working on it but God knows I’m angry that I didn’t get the chance to grow up more into my adulthood and have that relationship. God knows I’m angry that my kids will never have the chance to meet her. God knows I’m angry that I don’t have my mom. God knows I was finally learning to separate from my parents and be okay with it and now I can’t just come back. My whole life is changing because of her death and it feels like the worst possible point of my life because nobody wants to be alone out in this world especially without a mother to call and talk to. For the first time in my life know I’m empowered yet I don’t feel strong enough. It’s really hard to manage that anger and I am working so hard not to drown myself in distractions but it’s the deepest challenge I’ve ever faced in all fronts: spiritually, mentally, emotionally…you name it

Its easy to love someone who didn't kick you out cus u got pregnant before marriage or came out as gay.
