Hey guys! Another busy week, and it is time to reassemble the 1937 Chevy Engine! This time the oil pan and cylinder head go on, and we will be running it soon if nothing goes too sideways... I stopped in to visit my neighbour and check out his awesome collection of Y-block-powered 1950s Fords, and Agent 3500 was visiting and we get to check out another Coldsmobile, haha!
Thanks to everyone who ordered a Fury shirt! They are being printed as I write this, and will ship the day they are finished.
Oh! I do not have a Telegram account or any bullshit contest going! Do not respond to any of these "contest winner" replies; they are a scam.

    *FRANKERS!*
It's remarkable to me how Francine has really settled down into more of a dare I say Stella demeanor
over time, isn't it? The wild child certainly endeared herself to the CWM viewers with age. Good girl!
Speaking of CWM, some quick numbers folks may not be aware of:
    - the channel was started well over a dozen years ago by a fella who "didn't think anyone would watch"
    Well...
    - *over 22 million views* at this point!
    - CWM is now fast approaching 60k subscribers, 2/3 of which have happened in just the last few years!
Scott, I always told you there was more to what you were doing here than met the eye. I am so happy for
you that things have worked out and I greedily hope you don't burn out of producing episodes anytime soon!

Fantastic seeing the Chevy going back together. And Laura's neighbours Canadian fords are awsome. You guys truly have some of the nicest looking motors from the 50's and 60's. A joy seeing the enthusiasm for old cars although it does seem to be amongst a certain demographic.
My kids don't view my old tin the way I do, a shame as I don't know who is going to take up the cause when our generation is gone. My dad and his Army buddy Earl Hunt drove a 1941 Plymouth to California and back to Detroit in 1946. When they got back to Detroit the old Plymouth developed a rod knock. Dad and Earl dropped the oil pan on a side street, cut off a piece of leather belt. They took off the loose rod cap, jammed the leather belt chunk in and re installed the rod cap and oil pan. They pushed the car close to the nearest used car lot, fired it up and traded for another car.

The '37 is coming along nicely and can't believe I am getting slightly nostalgic over that Olds. They all seemed to be white, burgundy, or navy blue. And were everywhere! I hope Stephen is doing well at the new job. It is pretty much impossible to find good mechanics anymore in my area (Vancouver Island), and few young people have ANY interest in repairing cars anyway. Bummer.

Loved your neighbor's Nifty-Fiftys Ford collection. The beautiful 57 Fairlane 500 and especially the 56 Crown Victoria. Though it's a shame it's a "race car" as I hate to see classics raced especially one THAT clean but that's just my personal prejudice. I had a 55 Crown Victoria I bought in 71 in the Army in Colorado, actually from my Platoon Sargent. He showed up in the parking lot in it one day and I bugged him so badly eventually he sold it to me. It was I always assumed a local Colorado car, mostly rust free, acceptable repaint it was the classic red & white of the era. Seat covers were just red and white vinyl no redo of the originals though I always assumed the originals were under the custom fitted covers. Had the Y block with three on the tree and a beautiful sounding pair of cherry bomb glass packs. She was so much fun. Kept her 9 years as I got out of the Army a year after I bought it. Growing family forced a re-eval of my priorities. Sold it on Hemmings to a buyer in Florida who sent a transport for it. He was planning a frame off resto. Don't know it's fate. Of all my classics I miss that one the most. Thanks Scott for a look back to the 50s Fords, made my day!

Those springs you saw in the book on the pushrods were a dealer option for some engines and most never got them. Out of a hundred at the least of those engines that I poured the rod bearings for never had them but did run across one that did have it. We just left that part out as they looked like a problem coming. I had every one of those cars your friend owns of the "Y" block series. I used a 56 for my drag car and many times it hit the wall but completed the race, only lost three races in say a good twenty plus races. I ran Y blocks for a good while then switched to the 390 with dual fours and a blower. From then on, that car got beat to death racing at any event I could get it in. Back in the sixties, a thirteen second car was really fast but dual fours and a blower got it into a high eight second car... the next race was its last as the frame, actually the second frame, broke and it hugged the wall for the last time. First girl to attack me and head for the back seat was my 57 two door hardtop. My saddest moment is now knowing I had a one off ford wagon built for a canadian and had canadian speedometer, was a "duplicate" of the chevy nomad. All the chrome on the tailgate, inside was the same with pile carpet that matched the color of the car. The carpet was ripped up from storing stuff in it that should of never been inside of it. I had to take all that chrome on the insides out to get the carpet out of it and then a man came by, spotted the car, offered me a good sum of money and in those days money talked. I never seen it again but it was in a car magazine. It had been fully restored and then is when it hit me why so much money for a station wagon to me type car. Great show as always

That is a gorgeous collection of Fords. The two door Ranch Wagons are really rare. I haven't seen a Ford Meteor Rideau for many years. I first saw one in Victoria, BC when my family and I visited about 1963.

Hey guys, thanks for the show. The Ford collection was pretty cool and I'm a Dodge guy. I also spotted the 40 Dodge when you were checking out the winter beater. I can pick them out from at least 50 yards.Nice that you mentioned Nicks Garage, he has set me straight on a few questions that I had and they worked perfect even tho local guys couldnt get it done, a real solid guy. Cheers!

Canadian Fords were what we had in Australia in the 1950s. US 57 and 58 models weren’t sold here, we had the Canadian models without the French names, they were all Customlines. Colloquially known as the “star” models for the grille. The 59 ‘tank” Fairlanes were sold here and quite popular, used by government and police forces. One had a starring role in the movie “Wake in Fright” and the Manson family drive a 59 Fairlane in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Cheers.

I saw a Cutlass Ciera on the road the other day and thought to myself that I'd not seen one in about 20 years........They use to be everywhere and they became the have to have car in the early 2000 decade for the poverty folks.....known as "Cuttys". They were driven by musicians and college students, hippies and low income folks that needed transportation that would be reliable...you could drive them until they all of a sudden died, everything would die at about the same time. I'd always have thought to myself that I need to have a "Cutty" in my collection.

Hi Scott! Thanks for the show. Cold War Motors went international today. Let me explain.
I attended an afternoon car show at Old Town, Kissimmee, Florida today, Feb 4 2023.
I happened upon a man and I asked him if he was from Edmonton. Well,, it was Paul from your show and GCFCE. Fun times. Dave V Barrie Ont.
