This man is one of the kindest talented men I know. He loves his fans and goes beyond for them. Him and his band gave me memories I will forever cherish
I first saw Paul Thorn at CMC Rocks the Hunter this year. He is fabulously great. Quirky lyrics and great sense of humour. Check out his music on iTunes. I just bought Pimps and Preachers and I haven't stopped playing it.
Had never heard of him until a few weeks ago. Was looking at Kristin Diable's website to see if she had any shows coming up and saw she was opening for Paul in Baton Rouge. Bought tickets immediately, then started listening to him. Haven't stopped. He fills the hole in my heart that John Prine's death left.
Here I am after all these years, still waiting to see a comment by the honkytonk Neanderthal himself. Paul’s singin this to be funny but I think the honkytonk Neanderthal, whoever he is, struck one of Paul’s nerves lol. Come on out buddy, wherever you are.
Seen him live a bunch of times and my good friend would help him set up or sound check when he played in San Luis Obispo. He’s the nicest, most genuine guy you could meet! A superb artist and his band is so tight. I highly recommend seeing The Paul Thorn Band when life gets back to normal. You won’t be disappointed!
I awoke this morning, feeling fit as a fiddle, and thought listening to, "It's a Great Day, to Whoop Somebody's Ass" would be a good start. After that I did a search and found this gem. Halleluyah. What a great way . . . to start somebody's day. Thank you, Paul.
Paul is a creative genius, can't get enough of his music! (He's coming to Main Street Crossing in Tomball, TX in Sept and I've already got my tickets!!!)
Made me think of the Geezinslaw Brothers, Ray Stevens, Homer and Jethro, Weird Al Yankovic, Spike Jones, and Nervous Norvous, all rolled into one. I laughed through the whole song!
I've been listening to Paul Thorn now for at least 12 years but I do have to say he's right new country music f****** sucks it's really bad country music has become the place for the crappy music that's not good enough to be pop it ain't good enough to be Rock so they make it country and it sucks I like older country music myself. It just disgust me when I hear them rapping in a country song. then you got guys like Paul Thorn here actually got Talent. Nashville sold us out. I'd like to go to the Grand Ole Opry once in my life and see Eddie Stubbs on the stage, then some douchebag like Jason Aldean would just ruin it for me. Make music great again.
Pretty funny song. This might be about as far (notoriety wise) as Paul goes, as it is gonna be a tough climb trying to sell music to the same group he is making fun of. Another fun fact...Neanderthals actually had bigger brains than us Homo sapiens. We just, through the cognitive revolution, developed the ability for complex communication, and thus the ability to operate in larger groups. The things one learns on TH-cam! LOL!
Too cool. Paul Thorn is too good for radio.

Paul will wrestle you to the mat (even though he's a boxer) if you call him "country" . . . he does not like that a lot!

@@lahondafolk4334 You'll have to ask him.
@@1761Charlie hopefully I can someday.

One of his is serendipitously a sequel to a song I wrote.
