Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hanover (1957) is the eldest daughter of the American actress Grace Kelly and Prince of Monaco, Rainier III, and the elder sister of Prince Albert II and Princess Stephanie.
Caroline is married to Ernst August, Prince of Hanover (1954), the heir to the former throne of the Kingdom of Hanover, as well as the heir male of George III of the United Kingdom.
Before this marriage, she was twice married.
The first marriage to Philippe Junot (1940) was declared invalid and lasted just over two years.
Her second husband was Stefano Casiraghi (1960 - 1990). They were married in 1983.
Carolina and Stefan have three children:
Andrea (1984),
Charlotte (1986),
Pierre (1987).
Stefano was killed in an offshore powerboat racing accident off the coast of Monaco on 1990.
In the third time, Caroline married in 1999.
Her fourth child, Princess Alexandra, she gave birth in the same year.
The children have already made Carolina six times grandmother.

During her youth in the seventies she was the most beautiful and talked about woman in the world. The press and the playboys were running after her screaming. She was a dark version of Grace Kelly - how wonderful can you be? She was in all the magazines, years before Diana. The most beautiful girl of her time. The only one who was female and the same age was princess Anne. Well, nobody screamed because she would walked by. Caroline was magnetic until all the tragedies struck. Her mother died, then her husband and she was left with 3 very young children. But look at her in her prime. She was unbelievable. When she was on the cover page of a magazine it would sell millions worldwide. She was, besides her amazing mother, the royal who was a megastar.

I wouldn't call her a role model, she ran off with her first husband who was 2 times her age, and ran off with the prince of Hanover who was a married man and later on became her 3rd husband and if I'm not mistaken the two are now separated .

Zo sad she tragically lost her perfect handsome prince by whom she had three gkrgeous children...this last child from the GERMAN...looks just like him. Stephanie was her own person...living in tents and trailers...the first ROYAL TRAILER TRASH...But I love these girls and pray for their happiness...They smoke too much, which concetns me. Princess Grace, one of a kind, so gracious and eternally beautiful. Caroline resembles her paternal grandmother in coloring and features, only more beautiful when she was young, however she has not aged gracefully; years of sun, smoking and loss have taken their toll on her skin, face and hair. Especially when she went gray. Same with Stephanie, they look haggard at time, such a shame. Caroline's eldest daughter Charlotte is gorgeous as Caroline was. They were the most beautiful princesses of all.
I was 18 and on vacation in Monaco and all I wanted was to see Princess Caroline. This was in the summer of 82 and I was nuts about her. Unfortunately less than a month after I left Princess Grace passed away in that tragic car accident. I’m pretty sure the magic that inhabited Monaco was gone after that tragic accident.

When I was growing up in the late seventies, early eighties she was all over the tabloids. She was the first princess that was actually very very beautiful. And she was pretty wild. She ran off with playboys and tennisplayers and went to studio 54. It is only during the last 10 years that she has become the lady of the manor. I do love it that she grows old naturally. No fillers, not botox - just growing old with wrinkles and all. Good for her!

She certainly found the love of her life, had 3 children before his tragic death in that speed boat, then she meets no 3, she seemed happy and had one daughter, but now divorced and single. She manages very well. She is now a grandmother herself and I think she loves every second of it.

One of my friends from college in Paris went to high school with Andrea Casiraghi, Caroline's son. He told me that Andrea would commute with train and subways like regular Parisians. I think he was raised to be humble.
Not really, in their younger days the Grimaldi siblings were notorious in Europe for their escapades, especially the womanizing brother and the sister that jumped from man to man and even tried to become a pop singer.

Stephanie was a hot mess then! I was too young to recall Caroline's wilder days. I recall when she got married the 1st time. I was 11. I believe all her eldest kids are married now.

@@alexacolby5083 she remained very bitter afterwards because she couldn't get a church divorce. It came through after Stefano (husband #2) died. Being in love is one thing. Getting married to a much older already divorced man is something else. Young does not have to be impulsive and headstrong beyond reason. Her mother tried to persuade her otherwise until the day of her wedding.

Seriously? I mean, she is a princess, but it doesn't necessarily translate into dignity. She got pregnant before two of her marriages, the second and third. She stole her supposedly best friend's husband from her (third). She's been given the best of everything her entire life. Yes, her mother died tragically, but she's not alone in that. She's not had a very moral life, I have to say, and I'm not a prude.
Her mother Grace did have class but it did not pass on to her daughter unfortunately. Like style, class comes from your innerself not your pedigree.

Caroline was the most well known princess in the world and certainly the most glamorous and beautiful one. She was all over the press. She dated the wrong men, she went to studio 54, her mother was Grace Kelly. She was magical. And she was absolutely beautiful. She still is now that she is in her sixties. But it is a complete mystery to me that she stays married to that alcoholic loser.For the title? It must be that, because she hasn't seen him in about 10 years. I thought she had more self esteem the that. But in my youth (and hers), she was pure magic. She led the live I wanted to live.

(Ironically, Ernst was the man that Princess Grace wanted Caroline to marry from the start!) I think Caroline does not want any more scandal, so is complacent with her life as it is. They don't show it here, (the last photo is at least 15-years-old), but Princess Caroline looks terrible in 2019. She smokes and she drinks, worships the sun and lives the life of an unhappy titled woman. (Not uncommon.) Yet, who wouldn't age terribly under those conditions? She looked her best and HAPPIEST while married to Stefano Casiraghi who died in 1990 in their sixth year of marriage. As an aside, I don't think there is a Grimaldi in a happy marriage or relationship. Princess Grace was NOT happy in her marriage to Prince Rainier and she had affairs and drank to alleviate her unhappiness. Prince Rainier was known to have had his affairs, too. So that is what their children grew up with. Kids know. Is it any surprise that the children are no happier than the parents? And willing to settle? NO. NO SURPRISE.

I Always believed most of these relationships never would have happened when Grace would have been alive. Well, apart from Philippe Junot. Not even she could have stopped Caroline gone wild then. And of course Caroline looks her age, and older then that, maybe. But she is in her sixties, now. And I give it to the Grimaldi women - they do grow old naturally. They don t do botox or fillers, they live their lives the way they want to and look their age. They don t turn into wax figures, thank god. there's nothing I hate more then those women who can only move their eyes after they turn 40. Then I rather see the face of Caroline who has had it rough during some periods of her life, and it shows on her face. She has earned that face and be proud of the fact of how she got through the hard times. I think her mother would have been proud of her.

It is sad the pressure some women, famous or not, feel to remain eternally beautiful, even though that is an impossibility. But there is a great deal of pressure by society, advertising, peers, the famous to STAY beautiful. Today's culture says that if you do not retain youth, you are expendable.

That's why I do respect women like princes Caroline who doesn't seem to feel that pressure and does it the way women and men should do it - naturally. We all grow old and do not look like we were in our twenties. I'm not happy with that either. But disfiguring your face with all sorts of paralyzers makes it much much worse then just growing old.
