Also we have to remember that while budget friendly, the stealth 500 has Bluetooth and wireless. ( which 600 gen 2 did not have) 40 hours of battery ( which 2 years ago was the flagship in the stealth 700 gen 2 max. It’s WILD how much is actually packed into this headset.
Just picked up the gen 3 Stealth 600 model last night, & honestly, for the money its incredible. Even listening to music sounds like they should cost alot more. Especially listening to heavy metal with the sound "footsteps" mode enabled. My only regret is all they had was black version, while I prefer the white as it's got an overall cleaner look imo. So your kind of wrong on the compatibility I have the Stealth 600 Gen 3's and just did a video on them a few days ago. I specifically got the version that says Designed for Xbox on the box because on the Amazon site it's listed as being compatible with both the Xbox Series X/S Xbox One as well as PS5/PS4 and the myriad of other devices. I specifically got this headset because it's marketed as a multiplatform headset and as someone who plays regularly on both Xbox and PlayStation I've wanted a wireless headset that is compatible with both for a long time. Per my testing at least this designed for Xbox varient of the headset does indeed work with both my Xbox Series X and PS5 and all the features appear to work on both minus the super human hearing on PS5 when trying to use this feature it specifically says in the Swarm II app to plug the dongle into an Xbox to use. Now on Amazon the PlayStation branded varient of the headset doesn't actually list Xbox in its compatibility list so I don't if that version will work on Xbox or not but considering they're both the same price it kinda makes getting the PlayStation branded varient pointless as it has less Compatability but cost the same.
I do believe there is a bit of confusion on how Turtle Beach is advertising these. The boxes do say cross compatibility, but if you filter on the website, they don't show compatibility. So thanks for clarifying for those with questions.
The stealth 600 Xbox are absolutely awesome I got em for Nintendo switch they do cut out ok Fortnite from time to time not sure if it’s servers or what but either notice the swarm 2 app closes around every 20 mins but still happy with purchsse
Im still using Stealth 700 gen 1,wonder if there is any real advantage if I got a Stealth 600 gen 3? Although with my 700 I use the optical out from TV to receiver to keep game sound and chat volume separate. (Using on ps5,and ps5 has no optical port)
pulled the trigger 2 days ago. my gen2 max 600s mic was acting up when I would mute it so I returned it back to gamestop with my warranty they gave me rig 800 xbox version and the flexible mic was doing the same thing (static when I mute or unmute and intermediate word pick up) so I returned those and got 107$ in store credit. so scooped 600 gen 3 only had to pay for the Warranty it was $20

They are both great for music, solid noise canceling feel from the 600's. 500's more for gaming, but doesn't really have that cancellation.
What is the game audio like ?
Also how do you switch between X box switch and PS5 do you need to buy a seperate adapter for each console ?
Between Xbox and PlayStation you need separate headsets
