    Quick Tip for the brush: you can set the opacity using your number keys. Say you want to have 50% opacity: hit the 5 key and boom! if you want 45 hit 4 and then 5 in rapid succession. Want to get back to 100%? Hit the 0 key.

      Pete, your tutorials are super helpful. After all the experience and years at a university, I've leaned there are hundreds of ways to do the same thing on Adobe programs but usually yours are the most efficient. THANKS FOR SHARING!

      Thanks once again Pete. One question, when I try to create the ellipse by pressing shift, it doesn't create a new layer, it punches a hole in my dryer layer instead. What am I doing wrong?

      @@thomasgarner2921 Man I ve been literally struggling for 4 hours and after Peter draws that Selection mask, the result is wonderful, but for me it keeps in the picture only the part of the mountain landscape that Hasn t been masked with the Pencil tool! Why!?

    I was literally just assigned in my advanced photography class to make a fantasy composite using 10 images, and then this appears in my sub box. I love you, and I love destiny. Keep grinding Peter! We are thankful.

    Quick question; why do you duplicate the background layer to make a a new layer and delete the background one when you can just unlock it?

      He probably wants a backup layer quick at hand, that's why I do it
      edit: Just realised he deleted the locked layer
      I have no idea why he made a copy

    Idea for abstract photo - that air respirator behind you - it could be done so that rain is pouring out of it and you can see a rain forest underneath or something misty,like that. That would look dope.

      I can be mentoring Photoshop but I need a training in some other skills

    I would like to see more of these and other abstract composites. As a matter of fact, I think it would be really cool if you took some suggestions from the subscribers. What I mean is that if you had subscribers comment an everyday object and took the one you liked the most to use as one of the layers.

    Love your content! It's been amazing seeing your subs rise from just a few thousand to now over 350k! Incredible! With the quality of your content, it completely makes sense though.
    Quick tip: Double-click the background layer, rename (or don't) hit ok and you're golden. The quickest way I know to unlock that background layer. :)

    Peter, you don't have to duplicate a layer then delete the locked background! (at 3:57) Just double click on the locked layer, it will highlight the layer name for typing, and just hit enter on the keyboard. This will unlock the locked layer :)
    Much easier :D
