Quick Tip for the brush: you can set the opacity using your number keys. Say you want to have 50% opacity: hit the 5 key and boom! if you want 45 hit 4 and then 5 in rapid succession. Want to get back to 100%? Hit the 0 key. Cheers and thanks for the great content.
Pete, your tutorials are super helpful. After all the experience and years at a university, I've leaned there are hundreds of ways to do the same thing on Adobe programs but usually yours are the most efficient. THANKS FOR SHARING!
I watch at least 30+ Lightroom / Photoshop tutorials per week nowdays, and your videos definitely became one of my favorite ones here on TH-cam. No unnecessary bullsh*t, very informative - with the perfect amount of humor and rhythm. Hats off to you and keep 'em coming! :)
Thanks once again Pete. One question, when I try to create the ellipse by pressing shift, it doesn't create a new layer, it punches a hole in my dryer layer instead. What am I doing wrong?
@@thomasgarner2921 Man I ve been literally struggling for 4 hours and after Peter draws that Selection mask, the result is wonderful, but for me it keeps in the picture only the part of the mountain landscape that Hasn t been masked with the Pencil tool! Why!?
I don't know how you do it Peter, but your content has something very unique and special about it that no one else has:) I literally can't wait for your next upload! All the best...
I was literally just assigned in my advanced photography class to make a fantasy composite using 10 images, and then this appears in my sub box. I love you, and I love destiny. Keep grinding Peter! We are thankful.
This is one of the only channels that I hit the thumbs up immediately, before I even hit play. There's ZERO chance I'm not going to love the video so lets just get the thumbs up in there.
Idea for abstract photo - that air respirator behind you - it could be done so that rain is pouring out of it and you can see a rain forest underneath or something misty, like that. That would look dope.
There is so many cool routes in this creative industry, no idea how to choose one to zone in on.. I love graphics design, photo manipulation, photography, art in general..
I have struggled with depression for a long time now and it has taken me to some pretty dark places. But one of the things that keeps me going are your videos, they make my life a lot less terrible. Keep making amazing videos.
I can be mentoring Photoshop but I need a training in some other skills (10+ years in UI/UX, and the "photoshop" related info on youtube is a cartoon stuff made to get email opt-ins or for subscriptions)
I love this, nice to see what is possible with a little bit of practice and creativity with the images and the tools available through photoshop. Thank you
I would like to see more of these and other abstract composites. As a matter of fact, I think it would be really cool if you took some suggestions from the subscribers. What I mean is that if you had subscribers comment an everyday object and took the one you liked the most to use as one of the layers.
Please make more videos. I love them and I learn so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and please don’t stop. You rock !! Awesomeness overload
Whats up Peter Mckinnon, Tree Camps here and Today, We are saying Congrats on a Great Show! Please don't ever stop being fresh and original! "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish." I expect good things. Please do more videography videos:) I learn a lot from your videos!
Yeah! That reminds me of my first photoshop experiments. Photoshopped an escalator that reached to the clouds on a field. That was a great time... 😊 Hey you should let people send you there composites! Ooooouh or maybe you start a contest where we can get some goodies from you! 😃 Everybody smash that like button if you think this is a good idea!
Awesome tutorial... actually made me take a picture of my washing machine and use a photo from the time I travelled the inca trail. Very very inspiring
Love your content! It's been amazing seeing your subs rise from just a few thousand to now over 350k! Incredible! With the quality of your content, it completely makes sense though. Quick tip: Double-click the background layer, rename (or don't) hit ok and you're golden. The quickest way I know to unlock that background layer. :) Keep up the great work!
I would really like more videos like this. I think this is pretty cool and I could do this with the ocean maybe. I think the contrast of the ocean and a white dryer would be pretty nice.
Pete I haven't even finished watching the video & already had to "Like" it just because of the intro.😂 Starting to ask myself if I come here to watch u & your quirks more than your advice, lol. Nah I think it's really both. Learning loads from u.😊 Love your channel!!😘
Peter, you don't have to duplicate a layer then delete the locked background! (at 3:57) Just double click on the locked layer, it will highlight the layer name for typing, and just hit enter on the keyboard. This will unlock the locked layer :) Much easier :D
Who wants more Abstract goodness?!?
Peter McKinnon i want more abstract photos ideas, but with people, not landscapes, thx :)
Peter McKinnon here, here, me!
YES PLEASE
Peter McKinnon Yes! meee

Thanks once again Pete. One question, when I try to create the ellipse by pressing shift, it doesn't create a new layer, it punches a hole in my dryer layer instead. What am I doing wrong?

Quick question; why do you duplicate the background layer to make a a new layer and delete the background one when you can just unlock it?
He probably wants a backup layer quick at hand, that's why I do it
edit: Just realised he deleted the locked layer
I have no idea why he made a copy
it was faster
yazeed not really. He just had to click on the lock and done.
Some backgrounds won't unlock.
Yeaaah! let's do it Peter! 🤘
try the inside of a closet or even the bottom of a glass
YES!!!, please make a series.
Idea for abstract photo - that air respirator behind you - it could be done so that rain is pouring out of it and you can see a rain forest underneath or something misty, like that. That would look dope.
