I like that you addressed addiction and the fact that people don't need to own hundreds of fragrances. It's something we all need to keep in mind while still enjoying this hobby. I'm at 35 bottles and I'm trying to finish a few bottles before I buy more. Still like watching the videos though and continuing to sample stuff.
honestly him saying that made me realize even more that I littlerally have an addiction and am using it as an outlet for my depression. I need to stop im going broke.
Just won yourself a new subscriber man, the clarification in the beginning of this hobby getting out of hand or being influenced into buying in abundance and the reassurance of reaching out for help if needed was quite surprising to me. You don’t see much of that now days anymore, addressing the real problems and leveling with what may be causing these purchases or “addictions”. Anyways, just just got into the hobby and I look forward to it, also to more videos as well, Keep up the good work man.

Montblanc Legend EDP 9. YSL La Nuit De LHomme Bleu Electrique 10. JPG Le Male Le Parfum 11. Prada LHomme 12. Armani Stronger With You 13. Azzaro Wanted by Night
Dude Nate... you are a real one for starting off the video like that alot of fragrance influencers would never talk about that just shows "Super Fantastic" character.
Hey, Nate! Before I became a collector I was already aware of online discounters so I would occasionally repurchase a bottle of Burberry Touch for cheap whenever I ran out. It was pretty much all I wore (my signature scent). But my first 4 fragrances that got me into collecting were actually Banana Republic Classic EDT, Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDT, Versace Dylan Blue, and CK One Shock. Those kind of opened my eyes to scents other than just "clean/powdery." And then consequentially I've purchased many, many more after that... Lol, maybe too many. I would love to own like just 20, but it's difficult now. Great videos, keep up the good work!
I’m starting with YSL Myslf as my “versatile” (didn’t care for Y, but maybe I need to try it again), and Eclat d’Arpege as my “blue”. I’m still looking for a “date night/cold weather” frag; I like Azzaro Wanted but I wonder if it smells too similar to Myslf. Also looking at Gucci Guilty - so far I like those. Any other ideas? Great video, thanks!
Thanks Nate. Great video and warning about addiction to collecting fragrances right at the beginning. I get about 7 bottles maximum a year, my purchasing is very measured. While my collecting may not make sense to some, I enjoy it and love looking and smelling divine for myself. All my other responsibilities are still being cared for despite my collecting of fragrances and I am blessed to have a partner who accepts me as I am and even wears my fragrances too. Cheers Nate

These are all great recommendations but probably too many blues to start with. I'd throw a tabbaco, beginner oud, vetiver and a fig fragrance to balance out the collection. Also Givenchy reserve prive is the better choice of the line and I prefer it more than DHI. Loving the content bro! 😎
I clearly remember my first 3 fragrances that got me into collecting. It was Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme EDT, Hugo Boss Bottled EDT and Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Le Parfum. I bought the YSL as a blind buy to celebrate graduation and starting my new job, and it was an amazing pick. Then i slowly started to gather up the rest. I cannot say i always make the right decisions when buying, but i try to aim for cheap fragrances and discounts. When i buy something pricier i always try to connect it to some important moments of my life, so it will bring up that little shard of memory when i wear it. Regardless, i try not to buy too many, but i noticed that perfumes helped me to build a little bit more confidence and deal with anxiety. When I'm buying one i always look for it on your channel to see if you did a review of it already 😉
I really like how you presented.. you started off with a caution, then an advise.. I honestly think that Prada's Luna Rossa line is like envisioning to be present in all areas of the fragrance wheel, like I normally understand that flankers will be close to the scent of original, but Black, Sport, Ocean, Carbon.. they do not smell close to each other.. so having all these add to them Prada L'Homme is already a good collection. And yeah whenever someone starts to collect fragrances, they should just not look at popularity of the brand, the juice is what is important, there are hidden gems that are cheap. If a collector only go after the popular brands then I think they are not a real "fragrance" collector.

And I think I will always have at least one full bottle from those 3 lines - ADG, Y (probably Parfum next) and SWY (Leather will be next). Here are a few that I would reccomend for a beginer: 1. Afnan 9PM - great vanilla fragrance, clone of Ultra Male, great for date nights and colder weather. Lattafa Asad is also a nice choice but it is more of a warm and spicy scent, cause it is clone of Dior Sauvage Elixir. Both are on the cheaper side. 2. Mancera Cedrat Boise - fantastic versatile frangrance great for everything. Montblanc Explorer is an alternative, but lacks in performance compared to MCB. 3. Costume National Homme - fresh, spicy and citrusy. Great for daily/office use. Terre D'Hermes or Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme are great and proven alternatives. I dont like too much flint note in TDH that gives it an earthy feel, so I would rather go with Issey. 4. Azzaro Most Wanted (Parfum) and Azzaro Wanted by Night - great date night frangrance.
