When i was a kid in 4th grade, the 1st shoe i ever recognized as a “cool shoe” was on the feet of my friend who was wearing the AJ6 Black/Infrared. This shoe will forever be my introduction into Jordan sneakers
I was 9 years old and a buddy had them and I was SO jealous, it burned an image into my mind I still remember vividly to this day. I’m going to have to pickup a pair, too bad I didn’t try in 2019. I’ll have to pay a small premium now
Appreciate the historical insight. I definitely remember playing travel league ball and being wowed by other players rocking the OG Jordan’s while I was rocking some bobos. Took me a few years to save up for a special pair. Now it sucks that it’s so hard to cop a pair, especially anything with some “hype”. Kudos for your Hibbetts hook up, just wish the common folk can get some enjoyment too.

The 2014 pair was "Infrared-23" not "Infrared". There's a difference. We all know Nike/Jordan Brand tinkers with the colorways of their retros, this being no exception. Infrared-23 is a variation of Infrared, it's not the exact same. That's why they look different
Afrikan Caesar that’s a good callout they went in on that infrared 23 color that year. They were not marketed as a different shoe tho it was a retro of the OG to anyone that was looking for em

I was 13 in 91 and I was able to cop them that day they dropped for 125.00. I rocked them at school the next day and I was breaking necks left and right! now I’m 40 and my new 2019’s are due to arrive today in the mail! Can’t wait!

Looks really good, and way better than the previous infrared version. AJVI is my personal favorite AJ. I was in 6th grade when it came out, like half of the class had a pair but I was one of those who couldn't afford it. Thank the sneaker gods for this retro trend in the sneaker world. Apart from the nostalgia it brings, I'm a big Batman fan and AJVI's connection to Batman history makes this shoe all the more special for me. For those who didn't know, Michael Keaton wore VIs customized into bat-boots in Batman Returns. Perhaps a new all-black colorway should be done in 2022 for the film's 30th anniversary, maybe call it Dark Knight :)

I remember as a kid I use to get every Jordan 1-7 for Xmas or just as a gift from my godmother, some models in different color ways. A lot of them actually. After that I wasn’t really that into them anymore. As I got older I got into them again but now I had to buy them on my own. This shoe is just one of those shoes I always wanted again now it’s available again and I’m def coping. And I’m def getting my son a pair too👍🏼
Copped these off the Nike early release weeks ago but I was disappointed in the nubuck material. I like the story and history behind them, but I’ve never had an emotional attachment to the 6s so it’s just another JB sneaker in my opinion. 11s and 3s got a special place in my sneaker heart tho.
Just received my pair from SNKRS. Honestly, the color differences between the 2019 and the 2014 is just, simply, too close. Don’t get me wrong, definitely darker and less of that pink hue but, closer in hand than most pictures/videos make it seem. Happy with them in this form/shape and slight color differential.
