Varsity red my favorite color in general so I'm bias toward the varsity red 6s. It's something about that dark rich red and black combination that can't be beat.
I get the most compliments in my 2014 Black Infrared 6s and I have over 200 pairs of shoes. The shape and color is a big hit to even people who aren't into sneakers.

I’m OG over everything but I love the pop on the 2014 too. I wore my pair twice and I’m still gonna double up on the 2019. Definitely good to have both in the stash.
IMHO, I like the fact that the 2014's pop more, and the only two things I give the 2019 pair the edge over the 2014's is the nike air and the suede. The 2014's doesn't look all that pink-ish to me because the fact that the shoe is predominantly black dims the brightness of the infrared, but the white/infrared 2014's do look pink.
Having watched all these different videos of comparisons, on feet’s, reviews, etc. I can say that this years pair of infrareds has me the most excited. I cannot see anything visually wrong with this years pair. I am most excited for the toe shape and ankle/Achilles shape. This shoe WILL be rocked to the core when I get them. 👌👍
I had the OG black/red 6’s. From my recollection, the infrared was more close to the 2014 model, but slightly darker. As far as the white/infrareds, the OG’s were indeed bright just like the pinkish red that everyone seems to dislike. Both OG’s had a brighter, almost highlighter type of red. The OG white 6 had a brighter infrared than the OG black pair. The red on MJ’s shoes didn’t come across bright in pics though, but they were indeed bright red in person.
I really never understood why people would get mad over a color, I liked the pink ones and I like these. Color doesn’t bother me & neither does the ashyness on the 2014s but the nubuck on the 2019 makes em so much nicer because of how dark it is.

Extremely happy with my 2019's. Probably won't wear my 2014's again. The Nike Air on the back is the deal maker for a Chi-Town kid like me. Shoe buying for me is gonna be very hard after this.

I agree 100% that it is tempting, but I'm gonna chill and not fall for the hype because my 2014's are still in good shape, and just like Mike Rich I wore mine about 4 or 5 times, the first time being February 2017. On a side note, I still haven't wore my Space Jams yet, but plan to break 'em out sometime this year during spring/summer time.

So far, from what we know that's releasing this year, I won't cop my first pair of J's in 2019 until May, I'm considering those black/royal 12's, and I'm doubling up on the Bred 11's. That's It so far as far as coppin' J's for me this year.

The Varsity Red was the best pair because the red matched all the red in our closets lol. Those 2014s caused headaches when making outfits.
