12.1 sounds like the perfect size! I went from the M1 iPad Pro 11” to the M4 13”. This 12.1 would be right in the middle of the 2. I’m thinking about switching to Android if Apple doesn’t announce at least the THOUGHT of a fold within the next year or so 😅 I really like the new Pixel Fold but I’m not hearing any reassuring news on that new chip they are using. I can’t stand Galaxy because they try to force you to use their system apps along with making you use Outlook😬
I'm considering a OnePlus Pad2 to compliment the OnePlus Open I just bought, and your info here was very helpful! I will say though, that even the keyboard on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus isn't backlit, so I wouldn't hold that against OnePlus. Otherwise it seems pretty comparable, with more RAM, a newer processor, and a lower price!
Got the S9 Ultra, and had to get another mid range tablet for the family. First, I got the S9 FE+, but then decided to return it and get the Oneplus Pad 2. That was a good decision, we absolutely love it!
I got it during the launch event. And I feel your review is too positive😢 1. No desktop mode. Why would you add type c video out and not add a desktop mode. You can't get any work done here. 2. Stylo2 only works great with the OnePlus notes app. If you use another app, you cannot use all the functions. 3. I didn't get the keyboard because every has complained about it. 4. I feel I'm missing something, and maybe it's because I've tried ChromeOS before and it is TOO VERSATILE. So I would expect the same from an Android tablet. I was able to get more work done using the ipad air m1 with an extra monitor and I also like the idea of Dex from Samsung. I think it will be helpful to criticize OnePlus sometimes so they can push updates quicker and fix many of the issues with the pad. Especially from the most important content creators like yourself ❤
I hear ya. Personally, I think that it offers many things not available on any mainstream Android tablet in that price range. Anywhere from performance, to user experience. This tablet was never advertised as a pro tablet, yet it offers flagship level features. Criticism would be high if it were priced as a tablet that should have everything you listed, but didn't. On the other hand, I certainly would love to see those things, but I anticipate they would bring the price up.
Good device but my personal experience with OnePlus says it intentionally starts to kill its devices with spammy updates after 2-3 years. So not sure it's future proof. BTW how is app optimization of various third party apps, is it as good as samsung tabs?
first this cannot be ipad or tab s replacement 1) no cellular connectivity, 2) one software was is shady ( not clearly stated so don't be surprised you get 2 updates only maybe even less) 3) for its price range - right now the tab s series is a much better choice as its price had drop a lot & with the tab s10 coming soon maybe more price cut 4) specs wise tab s 9 win its hands down 5) that iPad copy of the ratio aspect for screen size will leave you with huge black bar when watch movie if you follow the original aspect of the film. last LCD SCREEN? NAH !
Not sure what your needs are, but while ill say the iPad 10, note thag If you're in the Apple ecosystem, the iPad 10, if you're in the Samsung ecosystem, the Tab s7.
256gig TOTAL!!!??? Zero expandable storage??? Are these people high??? This thing probably has enough empty space for 5 SD card slots or a few m.2 SSD drives.
I'd rather go with the galaxy tab, been using the s9 fe for months and it's performing great for my use (and I don't game with my tablet yet you still can do it I think if you're up for it)
I'm a Samsung guy, but I honestly think this OnePlus Pad 2 + bundle (pen+keyboard) at $500 is currently one of the best deal as a tablet on the market. With a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a good iPS display that goes up to 900 nits of brightness 🔆, and at this price, this tablet is hard to fault. On the other hand, my choice remains the 11" Tab S9. Personally at the same price or approximately, I will take the 11" Tab S9 , because I prefer the OLED screen, the size of the tablet, the Spen and especially One-Ui and good, long software support. On the other hand, some prefer bigger screens, iPS (no PWM), and OxygenOS, it's up to you. But, an 8-9" model with the same hardware configurations (900 nits display, OnePlus Pen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) would have been really perfect (perfect for emulation and e-book), and I think even at $400-$500, it would have sold like hotcakes 🥧 Ps: An SD card slot, fingerprint scanner, UFS 4.0, and 4-5 years of Android update would not have been too much. 🙏🏽
Ditto on EVERY SINGLE point here. I'm hoping to see Oneplus add at least some of those features on the next Iteration - they're doing some really nice things so far.
Not sure on pricing in other territories but in the UK the 1+ Pad 2 and S9 11" are not even in the same ballpark. Direct from manufacturer the S9 256/12 is £750, the Pad 2 is around £400 (with pen, so directly comparable). Nearly double the price!
Companies need to stop trying to remove the Micro SD Card slot.
Facts!
Or y'all just need to stop caring so much that mico SD is slow as hell and outdated

Nice review! Does the pen insert into the screen or the keyboard for storage like the Samsung phones? Thank you. (Chicago)
No. Only goes on top
No it does not. It's magnetically held at the top

What key differences are you seeing in day to day use apart from obviously the screen???
Why did you return the S9 FE+ ?
@@Zenfiddich i prefer the aspect ratio, the pen's haptic feedback, canvas, and obviously the performance is much better than the S9 FE.

Does the display use DC dimming or PWM dimming?
I'm sensitive to PWM flicker 😳
I ll get the next edition for sure.👌
OnePlus pad 2 vs Samsung tab s9 (11 inch) which should be better for gaming?
On paper the OnePlus Pad 2 is better for gaming, but in real life, the 11" Tab S9 is better
I would chose tab s9 because ip68,memory card and dynamic amoled..
Oneplus pad 2 has better cpu and gpu

I agree with you, it's really hard to find a review which says everything and not only positive stuff.

It's because all oneplus pad 2 videos found here on yt are 99% sponsored. No personally bought tabs from them yet (for content)
how do you use the Al feature😊
It's not as AI feature heavy as some other devices out there, but just gotta make sure they're turned on in the settings

Not good as Galaxy Tab
Good points! Software updates and apps optimization are not at all on par with Samsung tabs. 1+ is still behind on those.
how do you get colorful keyboard?
