Certainly looks to be the most solid of all that I have seen so far with a price to match. Most people probably only need a fixed height not necessary to be adjustable at less cost.
Peoples needs have changed so much that its nice to see more products with adjustability or set heights for all those different set ups you amazing customers come up with.
I really like it. I wish you demonstrated the side rail attachments and all the accessories. I also wish you showed the max and min heights these can be adjusted to
Thanks for your question! Most awnings use a bolt/clamp around the bar attachment or a plate that can be attached to a T-Channel style bar. With the weight of most awning's you'd want something beefier than a end cap holding it on during those highway speeds and rides. Most brands have adapters to the various cross bars for their awnings though. Maybe one day, there will be an awning that extends out of a set of cross bars...Hmmm maybe I need to get to work on that...
Hello. Maybe not, but if you have one of the covers that Yakima makes a kit for then you can; Retrax XR Series, Embark LS and Pace-Edwards UltraGroove (except for 2004+ F-150) tonneau covers. Thanks!
Is there a base that will allow it to mount to a flat surface like a diamond back cover? Also, to remove it can you just loosen the bolts on the base plates (where the locks are) and loosen the crossbar or does it have to be completely disassembled?
If the Diamond Back cover which you owe has tracks in their sides similar to Retrax tonneau cover there is an option to mount this system. With that set up, you would be able to take it off with minimal disassembly, meaning you may need to loosen some of the top bolts in order for it to come off smoothly
Would this be able to be installed on a 2020 Ram Rebel that has a Tri fold Undercover Armor Flex Tonneau cover. If not, is there an additional item I can purchase to make it fit. If still no if there any other racks options I can purchase. Thank you !!
It has clamped over all the plastic insert bed liners I have tried it on. There might be the odd one that requires some sort of slight modification but that would be a incredibly rare situation.
Any idea why Yakima provides no way to lock the rack base to the truck when using the Nissan/Toyota rail adapters? I just installed my rack and was blown away that all it would take for a thief to take the entire rack system is a Yakima hex tool and about 60 seconds. The base locks are useless unless using the standard clamps which I can't use. On top of this huge oversight. the HD cross bars also can't be locked to the rack base. Again, a Yakima hex tool and 60 seconds and the cross bars and anything attached to them are gone. I find this utterly unacceptable that a rack system that runs about $600 can't be secured to the vehicle. I'm totally disappointed. Any ideas from anyone out there?
The bars do not need to be removed, however, you'll need to loosen them up to allow for a height adjustment in the towers. The Thule Xsporter Pro offers height adjustabilty without loosening the bars because the their uprights are parallel with one another. www.rackoutfitters.com/thule-500xtb-xsporter-pro-black-multi-height-aluminum-truck-rack/
I initially set mine up with 68" and just ordered 78" so I can carry two kayaks and a Top Water rod box. Rack is expensive but it's without a doubt the best I've ever purchased.
I bought everything back, but now I can’t buy tonneau kit one, it’s been more than three months! HD bar is also not used at home! Is there something wrong with your accessories?
@@clayrobinson3432 We just installed an OverHaul HD on an F150, it uses 60-inch bars but for two fishing kayaks you'll want 68 inch. We'll post up that video on our channel very soon. Great video guys-this Yakima product seems to be top notch quality!

Great video. Thanks guys. Just wondering if my rhino rack pioneer platform can be installed on the Yakima bed rack. Any guidance would be appreciated
great video! are there different end caps for the cross bar for adding an awning for instance?

Thanks for commenting!
Just bought mine from you guys.....love it!
Thanks for your support! It's an excellent rack, we're sure you'll get many years of dependable use!
Would I be able to drill thru the clamped base and bolt down directly to the bed rail? or say a trailer frame?
Nice but now a person can't use there tonneau cover 😞

What’s the longest ladder you can put on this set up. Same truck same ladder rack?

Is this compatible with a 2012 Toyota Tacoma double cab?
Will this fit over a truck bed liner?

Can you adjust the rack height without removing the load bars?

How the security works on the crossbars? only are screws? or can I add a lock too?
Only the tamper-resistant screws.
@@rackattack Thanks. 👍🏼
What size cross bar is best for a 2021 colorado Zr2?
I initially set mine up with 68" and just ordered 78" so I can carry two kayaks and a Top Water rod box. Rack is expensive but it's without a doubt the best I've ever purchased.
Can this rack work with
RetraxPRO MX Retractable Truck Bed Tonneau Cover installed?
No, it cannot. It requires the tracks from the XR model. You may want to contact Retrax directly about a conversion to XR kit.
What is the lowest height?
Hello. Adjustable height from 19-30" to create custom set-ups for maximum utility and versatility. Thanks!

I have the same truck. Are you able to move the rear rack back some more? or is it all the way back?
Yes, it can be moved back, however, it will cover the post hole/grab handle.

Where can I buy it ?

What is the width of the cross bars? 68”?
It will vary per vehicle but this truck is using a 55-inch load bar
