Awesome! I'm 16 so i'm only just beginning on my Battlejacket. I only got the vest so far, but i'm looking very much into having it filled with patches!
SAME!! Although I don't know which jacket I'm gonna use. Denim or (fake, because I'd be a pretty crap vegetarian if i used cow) leather. I'm thinking a bit like little Dan, use the denim one and put it over leather in the cold!
My vest has the signatures of every member of Unleash the Archers and a patch from a Manowar cover band called Hanowar because they did a stupidly fun show.
what advice would you guys have for putting patches over pockets while still making the pocket usable? Right now, all I can think is to E6000 that shit on
I started my first battle jacket about 8 months ago, it's still not finished as I like to fill up every space on the jacket with as many patches as I can fit. My upper back and upper front are all covered around the vest, but still got to fill in the middle and bottom, got a few at the bottom but mostly been adding to the top and working down. I'm also not the biggest guy but I bought an XL jacket so it hangs almost like a trench coat and I can get as many on as possible! It's black too btw. It's mostly metal, a good mix of genres too, black, grind, death, heavy, noise etc. But I also have a few horror patches too as I adore horror movies just as much as metal. When I've finished this one I plan on experimenting with different colors, maybe a dark purple jacket? Or a dark red one? White? Maybe one day just get a regular blue one? We'll see, it'll be fun.
Good band choices. But why does everyone choose to have such a monstrous back patch? Is that a rule or something? I went with a mid sized embroidered iron maiden fear of the dark patch (8.5" × 10.5") because I wanted room for other patches, and most importantly, I hate printed patches. They got to be real stitched patches for me.
I've been wanting to do one of these since I was a kid but have just gotten around to it now at the age of 34. Jesus. Anyway, all I've gotten so far is a Maiden Fear of the Dark back patch and a Death, Ghost, and Metallica smaller patches.
