I stopped buying full stop and I do mean full stop. I lived on vegetables and potatoes,, rice , milk, cereals, bread, butter, ham, and few bathroom products for months, I stripped right back, I ignored all buying , I wanted my life back, my freedom. That was my over all aim, to breath again, no anxiety , no stress and knowing I owed no money to anyone, anything, or any business . I wanted to be free . I threw hundreds and hundreds at my bills , a lot of nights was simple jacket potatoes and a simple topping not for everyone I know but several months of strict sacrifice , for freedom , absolutely 💪💪💪💪💪, Now when I get paid, I can check my money that's gone into my bank and I love the fact, it does,nt go straight back out to anyone . Thats my calm , that's my freedom, taking back me 👍
That's simply not true. I understand it's harder for some people than others, but there's usually ALWAYS something to cut. And most people who say this aren't working a second job or even overtime. It sucks to work twice as much, make twice the money only to live like you're poorer than before. But it can be done. It just sucks really bad.
Focus, discipline, intentionality and intense desire to get off the debt trap, otherwise you won't get anywhere. Side hustles must be part of your lifestyle until you get out of the pit. No two ways about it, unfortunately unless you win the lottery which will also go down the drain unless you have a plan and stick to it. Unfortunately, that is the price you have to pay. What Ramsey, et al, are trying to do is to get you so hyped up that you will follow the mantra with all your might.
He no longer wanted to be a husband or father. Simply divorcing his wife would’ve still left him with the responsibility of fatherhood which he didn’t want. He wanted an entirely new life free from anything attached to his old life.
Find a new job that has a better schedule and then pick up other jobs in the evening or weekends and if your in a non compete contract pick a regular job like fast food, grocery stores…etc.
It’s beyond cutting spending and budgeting and getting three jobs at this point. You need to start moving whole families into single bedrooms in an apartment. You need to have a family of three in each bedroom so you’re all paying towards the same rent.
However, this plan doesn’t work with kids, the unpredictable costs that come up, are out of this world. Lunches, Tshirt day, projects, unexpected movie outings, new shoes, haircuts, birthday gifts. Aaaaahhhhh! I try but then I fail, over and over!!
@@grandmagoodnessgracious If the parents can keep you in the loop with planned activities for the school that helps. My daughter set it up so that I get the school notifications and emails that she does. 😁 Many Blessings to you.
I understand the need for a budget, but to get two extra jobs to help pay off debt is not good for everyone. When is this person going to sleep? Why is this person going to eat healthy when is this person going to exercise? These things are just as important as paying off debt.
I’m kinda there now. At 64, left in about $60k in debt after a divorce, I’m medication resistant, clinically depressed and anxious and barely treading water to function and manage it all. I have about $700k in equity in rental property, which, due to my declining health, and contributing to my health declining, I’m ready to look into investing most of that money into some kind of mutual fund, retire, take my social security, 2k/mo alimony and hope for the best. I just can’t afford this pace anymore. I don’t see how else to create time to making my health a priority at this age.
Sure it would help. Probably save you $100 a month. But cutting out unnecessary spending will save you 500$. And then that's reducing your yearly debt payments by $120.
@@user-ex2yt1pl6ucalling inflation out for what it is is an excuse? Pfft. All they do is repeat exactly what Dave says. I know it’s his daughter but do they have their own opinions or ideas to share? And extra jobs? Not making an excuse I just want to actually hear from someone so I can feel this is possible to be DEBT FREE
What is your advice to couples who cannot get extra jobs. I have kids. I will not pay for day care let alone a caregiver for my Special Needs kiddo. There have to be other solutions other than these. We are looking to sell our house and get out of debt this way. Our house is small, we want to be in a different area that will be closer to my husbands work and I feel it will helps us clear all the debt we have and then some.
