Thank you guys for watching ♥ Did you know about Tet already? We're so happy about your support in the previous video. Thank you all for your nice comments and for all the new subscribers and viewers: welcome!
Thats right it's called Tet as it had been celebrated long before the influence of the Chinese. In fact it was celebrated on either October or November based on our ancestor's own calendar until Vietnam was colonized by Chinese and only then was lunar calendar implemented or was lucky money popularised, etc
Thank you for the information. As an outsider, it’s really hard to understand the intricacies of the history and get it right in the video. Thank you for watching! ♥️
Our ancestors celebrated the Tet at the same time as today because it is based on weather phenomenon which is not change by the mindsets The lunar calendar may came after the invasion of the ancient Chinese whom belonged to northern China with tradition of nomadic breeding, not cultivating but the lunar calendar must be started in the area nowadays in northern Vietnam, southern China &Taiwan because only this area has weather conditions that match the meanings in the mindset of lunar new year while northern China, Japan and Korea is still cold for almost another month
In the mindset of ppl in some countries that applied/ affected the lunar calendar, New year is the time when the weather get warm, humid or rainy, and suitable for starting the cultivating

Thank you for documenting your journey in Vietnam and during the Lunar New Year festival. Watching this as an overseas student who can't get back for Tet gave me lots of emotion. Glad you enjoyed Vietnam and hope Vietnam can meet you guys again in the near future.
Tết is some day within Jan.21 to Feb.20. Lunar calendar bases on moving of both the moon and the sun,1 month in Lunar calendar is shorter than 1 month in the commons ,so after several years we have an extra month like the extra day of Feb 29
I’m loving your videos 💖 Marlola… You are so beautiful and such a soft and caring soul… Ali… Your free spirit and cheeky laugh is adorable. Sad to see you leave Vietnam… such an amazing country! Hope to you see you back there soon, and looking forward to watching your next videos from wherever you journey to 😁✨ Safe travels 💖
@@marola_ali lion and dragon dance is used to dance together in the past, and because the asian dragon is too long so there r too much members to dance a dragon so nowaday they just play lion dance in small events and play lion dragon dance in the big events
Oh ok, that is good context. We actually also saw the big, long dragon held and moved by multiple people, at the end of the event. But it was over so fast, we didn’t manage to film that part!
Thank you guys for watching ♥

Absolutely Outstanding
Supposed to give a dragon a red envelope for luck is a custom for a New Year.
What do you mean Vietnam? Please give more detail because we have 2 seperate territory - South VN and North VN
We were in Da Nang!
What is the name of the luxury hotel which you booked for one night?
PAMA hotel. Marola booked the penthouse I think for one night. It was super nice! The view was especially amazing
@marola_ali
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Thank you for watching and asking :)
It's not dragon dance, it's lion dance
Thank you for pointing this out! We applied a correction to the part of the video where the Lion Dance happens. Thank you for watching. 😊
