Atwell's integrity shouldn't be called into question here. The finger of blame needs to be pointed at Anthony Taylor who has been a dreadful referee this season. He is the man in the middle, he can turn around to VAR and say i'm going to the screen for all 3 of the penalty claims. VAR is there to help the referee but Taylor is in charge. I don't think the first one involving Reyna is a penalty. The handball is a 'seen them given, seen them not given'. But the challenge on Hudson-Odoi is a stonewall penalty

He said " If Newcastle are playing and they are fighting relegation I do not officiate the match I don't want that heat" That's the issue I think with Atwell being a Luton fan being the VAR for two clubs trying to stay up. If he has integrity he would have recused himself from this match.

As Souness says, 3 definite penalties in the same 6-pointer game!!! Of course Forest have a right to complain.

The problem is three wrong decisions in forests eyes. Also against Man U and Liverpool they were wronged. They were wronged by ref and VAR decisions. Forest aren’t the only club this season who have suffered. Yesterday they ruled a goal offside against Man U because he was a millimetre offside but it was supposed be a clear and obvious. Well if you’re measuring in millimetres then it’s not. VAR isn’t doing anything but compounding poor decisions. There needs to be a system where the PGMOL are held responsible for those decisions. It’s clear that VAR run by English refs isn’t fit for purpose , get the Germans to do it they do a far better of a job in Europe than our shower of shite refs.

As a forest fan, I just cannot believe the main focus has completely shifted to the tweet and the question of integrity rather than the actual competency issue of the officials and the wrong decisions being given on the day and human error continuously ruining and making a mockery of VAR. The football club has had enough and have nowhere to go and nothing to lose now after being on the end of terrible decisions all seasons (and no we aren’t just the only club as somebody else has stated). To say there isn’t corruption in the game is nonsense, there’s also bias to some of the supposedly big clubs - eg Man United as a notable one - who seem to get the majority of them decisions in their favour IMO. For the record also, Forest and Clattenburg had requested to get Attwell removed from the fixture, Howard Webb and the PGMOL are just trying to cover up their mistake. Finally - the tweet is wrong (especially from an official account) on every level and we as club will now have to face whatever ramification they choose to make an example of us on. But what happens to both Taylor and Attwell now? What’s their punishment? How will that be proportionate to whatever punishment we get - answer: Nothing. And that’s why this is bad for the whole football community…

I’m not getting this shtick that it’s is not right to question an officials integrity. Nottingham Forest have been here before with Anderlecht paying off a referee. They are not claiming something as bad here but the mere fact of the referees allegiance is to a closely competing club opens up the possibility of unconscious bias even if it was not conscious bias. How can everyone be SO sure that there is no corruption at any level in our game. With so much money slushing around how can anyone be certain.
