    Best head shot tutorial yet. Anyone can set up lights, not anyone can direct and encourage a non-professional subject. Thank you.

    Besides the high-quality shots, I like the relationships between photographer and the client. The communication skills are very important and you Sir, showed how to do it. Thank you for this tutorial.

    I do tethering in this studio photo shoot using a 4k graphics card on my PC into a Samsung 4k monitor using Capture One. This greatly helps on the person who decides either they like it or not the photo of themselves and its been a great help and I've been using this method ever since. Using capture One you can do ahead of time, white balance and color correction with Passport Color Checker using a subject as a temporary model before doing the actual photo shoot of the clients themselves & thats is when your ten minutes starts. But then again it is never 10 minutes.

    Best corporate "to do" video that I have seen yet. You did probably 20 poses and in 10 minutes and gave the client a variety of image that use. I do have a question to ask . . . the kicker or hair light you had; I was watching it and it look like there might been a honeycomb grid on you. Was that the case or just the angle in which the video was shot?

    • @impactstudiolighting3903
      @impactstudiolighting3903  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mychael: Thanks so much for your comments, and encouragement. The hair light was an open 7" reflector with no grid. You're right, the angle of the video camera makes it look more "gridded".

      Thank you for the info; this is one setup that I will incorporate in my setup as it is quick and very professional. Please keep the learning coming as I have learned more from just this video than I have with any other video for corporate portfolio.

      @ven1536 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@impactstudiolighting3903 I noticed the kick light hair light was a lot more on his face when body was straight facing the camera, shoulld you have moved subject a bit closer to you so the hair light stays on the hair or kick light on the cheek under the glasses it's ok?

    Interesting to watch someone else do something I done many times. Nice to see a different take. Appreciate the share. But one puzzling question... Why do you shoot FIVE frames that are all nearly identical. Why don't you verbally engage with him more to get less posed expressions?

      I always ask permission to fix hair, on women and tell the men.... I usually have a blonde assistant, but budget cuts today you just get me. They laugh and say something like...dang it... they don't mind me fixing the tie, pulling the coat, sleeves, etc. I have fixed hair, coats, ties and shirts on 90% of my clients. A couple of Presidents, Gov's, Senators and Actors. Lots of realtors and lawyers. Never had a complaint.

    • @jamilgotcher5456
      @jamilgotcher5456 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brandon, I guess you've never shot professional models, we have to step in an straighten their clothing all the time when the stylist is also your makeup artist and making up another model. I just make sure I don't touch them anywhere that's inappropriate. Models are used to having their clothing adjusted for photoshoots. Also, I touch my corporate clients, maybe it's because I'm a woman and I don't give them a creeper vibe is why no one has ever gotten weirded out by it, I also explain why I'm clipping their clothing etc.

    • @drip3084
      @drip3084 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jamil Gotcher I agree. But I am a male and have done thousands of headshots over the past 36 years. I always ask my clients if I can touch them, before I do it, male or female. (Still not sure they don’t think I am a creeper, but’s that’s just me). Not inappropriately, but fix a hair on the shoulder or adjust the sleeves. If they move it messes up everything else. I will be doing 400+ between now and September. They must not be offended, yet.
