None of your methods worked for me. What's worse is that my automatic renewal kicked in last month and paid for 12 months. I just realized the error code today when I attempted to download a PS Plus game. So now I'm out $60 and PS Plus.
NOVEMBER 2023- I managed to get thru this by adding funds into my wallet. I tried removing my card info and adding it back but that didnt work. Then i added funds into my wallet and went to go buy ps+ and it worked. Hopefully this helps people for this error code
Man, what is going on with this? This has been happening to me for a month. My bank says everything's fine and the money is there. Trying to buy RE Village via the store and I either get this number or some other message. Tried to add funds as well and it gave me the same message it gave you. This is extremely odd.
I think it's plainly obvious by now that Sony's authentication mechanisms are just piss poor. There's no other explanation - we have the money and all the correct info. Get it together Sony and PlayStation. Back alley strip clubs are more sophisticated.
Go to a email creator and create an account from there. Add payment method make it a non automatic fund system and purchase your item. It will ask wich credit card you wanna use and pick yours. Thank me later
If you get this message there is only 2 things you can do. 1: try again in a few days/weeks and hope that the problem resolves itself wich it may or may not do. Or 2: buy an xbox

For those that still does not work I’ve been doing this and once you buy a ps plus it can be a 1 month subscription and instead of buying it all the time buy a ps card and turn on renew on the ps subscription and all you have to do it put 10 dollars or more before the ps plus runs out and it will renew the subscription every month I hope this helps people because it helped me
See the problem with redeem codes is they make them 10 20 and 50 and 100 I think but when your low on money and you only have $10 and a month's worth of PlayStation Plus is $10.79 that will piss you all the way off lol I think it is so stupid that they even have PlayStation Plus mandatory PS3 didn't have it and you can still play online I was hoping they would fix that with PlayStation 5

For all Danish people having this problem: I think that the reason why it didn't work in my case was because we have to go through Nets' typical NemID-verification process for online purchases, and the Playstation Store just can't display the window that needs to pop up in order to complete the process, so it just instead tells us that the purchase couldn't be done. The solution I found was to use my computer to buy the game I wanted, via the Playstation Store website, and then I used the website's function that let's me remotely activate a download on my PS4.

Ended up updating the info on another card and was able to get it through, luckily. The frustrating semantics of putting up with console purchases will never get old.
@@OniBoy02 It still won't accept my payment straight up, so I bought an online gift card with said payment for $75 at GameStop's online store. Mailed me the code in an instant and it worked immediately and I had no issues. Looks like this will be the norm for buying games till this is resolved.

It’s because Sony is banning your ip and address so you won’t abuse the 14 day free trial subscription this there way of stopping it from happening that’s why they haven’t said anything about it

It seems to be alot of different "fixes" for this problem but no one seems to be able to explane whats really happening. But what worked for me was to make the purchase through the online store on my phone. I tried everything on my playstation but everything gave me the same error. But once the playstation now subscription went through on my phone, suddenly buying through the shop on the ps4 went through as well. Weird as hell. 🤷♂️
Yes it was the same for me, so i just chosed 1 month just to test and it went through. But paying monthly is double the price so i stopped the automatic renewel and will go for the yearcharge afterwards. 😅

@@sonicdyer it’s not random the error code is not in Sony’s system files even a representative from old me about this you’ve probably did the trial 2 or more times with the same PayPal and now they finally banned your ip for that specific account

It seems to be alot of different "fixes" for this problem but no one seems to be able to explane whats really happening.
But what worked for me was to make the purchase through the online store on my phone. I tried everything on my playstation but everything gave me the same error. But once the playstation now subscription went through on my phone, suddenly buying through the shop on the ps4 went through as well. Weird as hell. 🤷♂️
So on phone it works?

Yes it was the same for me, so i just chosed 1 month just to test and it went through. But paying monthly is double the price so i stopped the automatic renewel and will go for the yearcharge afterwards. 😅
