Kind of feels like mine this year. I had to spend the literal entire day at work. By the time I got home everyone was asleep. They asked me when I was free almost as if to celebrate another day but nothing happened. I got a cake at work and my family was able to catch me before I had to run to work and give me gifts. But I didn’t get the usual sit down dinner together with family. Just a quick happy birthday and gifts as I run out the door.

I think what got to me was the fact that the trauma evolved into wishing that we (as the listener) were never born. From how I see it, the trauma that built up from our childhood up to the point with UTC is that yeah there are 364 days that we could celebrate, but it’s like why would you not want to have the one day that celebrates the day you came into the world.
