Same. That and crocheting are/were my favorite hobbies. Sitting still, using my hands... People always said they wished they had that kind of patience. I never understood how being by yourself doing what you like took patience? Creating something intensely beautiful, unique and practical is simply a gift I suppose. It's turning into fall again and I was just thinking of something to drape over our shoulders.. I say we bring back shawls!!
Je nje ARTIST i vertet Ju nuk beni pune dore i themi ne qendisjes Por nje veper arti te mirefillt Jeni nje duar arte per bukurite qe nxirni prej duarve tuaja Dhe kjo eshte nje pune qe te mban te lidhur se do me patjeter ta mbarosh qe te shikosh rezultatin Bravo 😊😊❤
This is thrilling to see! I have an all ivory antique shawl that’s just solid silk embroidery-solid roses etc and long silk fringe- at least 150+ years old- it’s sooo beautiful- seeing these makes me just almost start crying from the beauty. I’m so glad he’s continuing this art form. Bless you ❤ Your work is exquisite sir. Much love from Vegas, USA 🇺🇸
I have decided that kids need to be taught lost and almost lost arts. If it keeps the art going, great. If it keeps a kid on the straight and narrow, fantastic!
My mother taught us to embroider. When my brother joined the US Army, he was the only guy in his barracks who could sew. When I went off to the US Navy, I was the only one with a tool box. I always say my mother raised us to be people. 💜💜💜
This is very much sewn just like the skirts, vests and shawls of Norwegian bunads, the traditional dresses worn for special occasions, based on garments from way back. Every county and some municipalities have their own bunads.
It is such a unique experience to enjoy seeing the process of gorgeous material, colors and elaborate horizontal designs! What a dedication to preserving the beauty of this form if art. Thanks for sharing this work with us, specially high regards to the embridery/ fine knotting artist!
Quel merveille. Vous avez de l’or dans les mains… Moi qui brode aussi, je reconnais un passionné ! Homme ou femme quel importance … Bravo et faîtes de donner l’envie autour de vous.
I just started to learn embroidery... It's so time consuming and so repetitive... But when you step back and look at what you put in... It shows. My 2yr old toddler looked at my first embroidery work the other day and said... Mommy! I love it! That made me felt so good that a toddler appreciated my work.
It was only a woman’s art, because of the men going out to work and the women having to stay at home to look after children, harth and home but still needing to increase the household income. This guy doing this , is just a reflecting of the change of society and societal norms
I think it’s probably just that some men suddenly realize how much money women will spend on clothes, and they now see it as a money maker. Just like the rest of the fashion industry, I’m sure men will soon take over the majority of this industry/skill if there is money to be made in it. It’s a shame women’s work isn’t generally valued the same as something men do even if it is the same or better quality. If it were, I’m sure women would still be making these shawls.
🌸 actually embroidery was traditionally done by men, later via girls and women because they had more patience and younger women had better eyesight lol It’s returned again full circle, kudos to him
Such embroidery was traditionally done by both men and women, all though history. Usually whole families are involved in process when doing it on commercial scale. The title is stupid.
@@sunitafisher4758Yes, I think that's true. In the Vogue Knitting book, the author tells us that knitting used to be exclusive to men. They had a guild, training and testing that the workers had to pass before they were allowed into this profession. I think probably these needle crafts have been passed from one generation to another. If anyone took an interest in it, they were trained to do the work, whether they were male or female.
I am proud of you, sir! As a spinner and yarncrafter, I’ve always said that crafting isn’t (or shouldn’t be) gendered; especially in this day and age. Crafting is for anyone with the time, patience, and desire to *create*.
Perfection, as a form of art that is like a Picasso !! I feel love for the little foolish stuff i make so.i could imagine how precious ur pieces are to u !!!! Love the embroidery but also that type of tassle , my God , what creations u create !!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
I just started a tapestry, looks like 10 years work. I love it already, and hope I can finish in a few months. This is inspiring to see. I like how he works in the window!
An artist, doesn't matter the gender, is someone who has patience, passion & discipline. Bravo Roberto Maccioni 👏👏
I love that he found his passion, and didn’t let stereotypes get in his way.
Я с детства вышиваю, вяжу, шью, но всякий раз с восторгом смотрю, как это делают другие. Браво, вы большой мастер.🌹💓👌
I do embroidery and I KNOW the passion, the calm and the time this work takes!! I love them 💘
Yes, I do also❤
