    So much can happen in a couple of years. I discovered this girl before my social media hiatus and she was something I had never seen. Playing these weirdest of songs in the streets. Now she is a he and performing in Tiny Desk. Everything else is still the same if not better. Unbelievable and the bestest!

      Christo Boshoff please check the info of this video. I never had any idea and I'm just happy to see her more comfortable with himself now.
      BTW, in Finnish we can't play with these words like this, since we only have a single pronoun for the ladies and the gentlemen. It makes things a lot easier.
      Anyways, none of this matters - I was overwhelmed by her talent a couple of years ago and so happy to see, he's killing it even more now.

      Naia was a guy who then was transitioning to a woman and after a few years decided to stop the transition.

    I'm a 70 year-old rocker who used play guitar semi-professionally in the 1960s (and I still do play). This is the sort of music that I would never like in a million years - until I actually heard this! This guy is unbelievably original and talented. Time I changed my guitar style somewhat, I think!!

    There is so much talent out there. This great welcoming of individual expression is much appreciated. We live in a time where such talents are often resented. How mind boggling! I am thankful for all your efforts here at Tiny Desk. The negative comments and disparagements below are more a reflection on the Commenters than the Artists. So sad that these critical narcissists cannot see their role in the sad negativity and darkness they cultivate.

      What are you on about?
      I can count these "disparagements" by "critical narcissists" on my fingers. Most other comments are positive. It's even reflected in the dislikes, where ~1% of people disliked this video. The response is overwhelmingly positive and you're still trying to fight against a critical minority.
      You claim to welcome individual expression but you shit on criticism without a second thought.

    Really good winner, very enjoyable to listen. It fells sweet and warm even the complexity of the riffs and metrics. His voice remember me Jeff Buckley's style and mojo. Drummer and bassits are a very tight base. I really loved the drummers technique.

    Incredible musician. And it's really great to see he is not a "one song wonder". Soft Spoken is amazing, but so are the other 2 songs (I even think I loved "Soul Gaze" more!)

    I'm glad you guys picked a great artist even though Hobo Johnson was the far more popular guy (I'm a supporter of the Johnson by the way) but you guys made the correct choice in choosing him.

    I love it and watch this program very well.
    I listen to the music regardless of old and new genres ,but I'm surprised that there are a lot of more splendid musicians.
    I didn't know him ,but came to like him instantly .
    How to play the guitar is unique.Very cool and new style !!!
