Hey thanks for the update and congrats on your hike. Yes the orange clothes are absolutely necessary in this neck of the woods in PA and yes thru hiking is hard!!😊
Very good to hear from you. I've been watching since you started doing prep hikes. I consider you a d___ good thru-hiker and an inspiration to anyone dreaming of a thru-hike!!!
How great to see your update video. What a busy time you have had. It’s refreshing to see such raw and personal situations that happen on trail. You have an amazing support system that has allowed your progress to reach your goal. So glad Jen has been able to join you on occasion. Thank you for the update. Keep on stepping and AT All the Way 🥾
Never giving up on you Bro. Epic update. It has been a GREAT journey . . . I have been following you since before you (and Jen and Wendy) started from Springer. Looking forward to you completing your THRU hike and celebrating in spirit with you. Doing great and . . . keep steppin'
Super amazing! Thanks for the update. Your niece was in my class last year and told me you were doing this. Now she's at the middle school so I don't hear updates unless they are from you. I did AT from Killington through to Grafton Notch, Maine last summer. Super awesome to have this amazing trail so close.
Full of admiration for you. You've been plugging away at this for a long time - I was watching from the first training hike and I take my hat off to you, your determination is a marvel. I hope you enjoy the final miles. I'm rooting for you from the UK.
Every year I pick a couple of through-hikers to follow, based on just a gut feel that their story might be interesting, their attitude positive, and their results inspiring. This year you were one of the hikers I followed, and I'm glad I did. Thank you for all your informative posts, your humble good nature, and congratulations on a thru-hike well done!
Buddy, the work you put in that got you to a far healthier place physically and emotionally has set you up for a healthy mid section of your life👏👏👏👏 You earned every step, with family to cheer you on. Blessings, sir!
Thank you so much for the update!! Wow!!! Sounds like a fantastic hike!! I would do it like you if I had the help!! You are so blessed to have a fabulous family to help you! I would love to hear about what you thought about the Mahoosic notch! That’s one of my fears😱😱 I am a short fluffy 63 year old and the notch looks like a huge chance for me to get hurt😵💫 I wish I could be there in Pine grove furnace to cheer for you at your finish!!! I definitely look forward to all of your posts as you get them out for us. Your pictures are so beautiful 😍 Wishing you all the best as you finish your EPIC ADVENTURE 🫶🥾🏕️🌲🏔️
The Mahoosic notch was very hard. I did it on a rainy day. Alone. I do not recommend doing it alone. Grafton Notch was definitely one of my hardest sections on the entire trail. If you hike from Georgia to Maine. By the time you get there your body should be so strong you should be able to get through it with a hiking partner no problem. Definitely do not want to stand up from the couch and go tackle that monster. 😂
How wonderful to hear from you and be able to see you good luck on your finish, I get so excited every time you put a video out I am so thrilled for you! Enjoy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving😊
Awesome job! Definitely a big, big accomplishment completing the AT and I agree everyone should do their hike, their way! The most important thing is being out there and having a good time. 💯🙏🏽👍🏽
Hey, The One!! So happy to watch this video and get your updates. So glad you sat down at the table with me in the cafeteria on Mt. Washington. Still can't believe I got to meet you. Wish you all the best in Pennsylvania!! Much Love from Chiller.
Great video, thanks! Watching this, I think we have more in common in regards to our hikes and attitudes. I also did the very non-conventional thru hike this year including working nights in my business. Looking forward to seeing you finish.
Thank you for the update. When you put it all together that helped me understand your hike. You are an inspiration to me. I am 56 years old with worn out knees and weigh 325 lbs. I so want to hike the AT. I've watched many vloggers from last spring to their finish. I just want to be out in nature in the woods and hike. People look at me like I'm crazy because I'm so big and my knees are worn out and maybe I am maybe I'm just dreaming. The other day I did go to pine Grove furnace and actually got two walk on the AT!!! My sister took me and I was so excited to see the white blazes to touch it and to actually walk on the trail even though it was like a walk in the park compared to what I've seen on the TH-cam channels. I'm so glad that you are finishing it and did not give up! Thanks for giving me hope.
When I told my inner circle I was going to thru hike the trail most of them thought I was crazzy and said some odd stuff. Through Gods grace and the POWER of the human body I have been able to hike this trail. The human body is the most powerful force in nature it can do things you can’t even think is possible. I do not know what knee issues you have and I am no doctor. But I hope I have shown the power of the human body and spirt. It may be possible for you to strengthen your knees and body so that you to could someday thru hike the trail. I hope you find your way and don’t give up on your dream. Check out “Knees over toes” on TH-cam I find his information to be amazing. Start small, stay focused, listen to your body and keep steppin. Your body will support you.
Thank you for the encouragement. God is Great and as a nurse, I have seen exactly what you mean by the power of the mind and body. I'm going now to the channel you recommended. It is now after Thanksgiving, so I believe you crossed that finish line! Congrats 🎉
Yup, HYOH. It's an experience that you will always remember, and will change your outlook and approach to the 'Matrix'. Pine Grove Furnace is a special place in its own right, with the AT Museum. Best of luck through Rocksylvania! Looking forward to future vids.
Thank you for the update!! I had lost track of you and wondered how you were. Excellent hike. I think you hike sounds wonderful! You got to do everything you wanted with family and work!!!
So freaking excited for you Scott! You have kicked ass on your thru hike - and you look so different than you did 2000+ miles ago. Looking forward to seeing you finish!!
Good for you for hiking your own hike! We would like to cheer you on at the finish, we might be near by hunting. Lol But seriously, we have been anxiously awaiting updates!
I’m so excited to hear your update! I’m bummed I just did my fall hike (50 miles started at smarts mountain through to the (crazy) Kinsman (I felt like spider woman 🤭)and was hoping I’d run into you, but didn’t happen.😢 God bless you on the rest of your through hike❣️🙏🏻🏁🥾🎒🌄🏕️ And wow 😮 you look amazing! Life changing right❣️👏🏻😍🙌🏻
Wow 🤩 that’s so awesome! I will be doing a spring hike starting where I left off. I will be starting at Franconia. I met a flip-flopper hiking southbound to Harper’s ferry. Two weeks prior he was in the white mountains 🏔️ and he got caught in 4 days/snow 17” night time low was 13° with the windchill 20 below. Not sure if you met him or not his trail name was zipper head.
I really respect your approach to completing your hike. I hate public opinion from those who have no business criticizing hikers. I am not impressed with those who claim their are AT Nobo "purists". Self titled people who try to stick out and appear superior. You rock Brother!!
Now I understand how you were doing this…and now it makes sense…. Whew! I haven’t seen you with a lot of people… were you doing a lot of solo? And I admire your attitude-positive thinking and as they say in the military…you have intestinal fortitude! Be careful in PA … a lot of rock!
I would say I hiked most of the trail solo. I had my Sister in the beginning and hiked with a few others for a little while. But I was all alone for most of it.
Long-distance hiking has a real terminology crisis, it's no one's fault. Most would consider this guy a section hiker that has completed the trail, not a thru-hiker. To thru-hike is to fully commit with one continuous effort without significant breaks. The more you go home the more others would consider it a section hike, but it's a spectrum and there's a lot of pride involved with the terminology.
Hey thanks for the update and congrats on your hike. Yes the orange clothes are absolutely necessary in this neck of the woods in PA and yes thru hiking is hard!!😊
Have NOT given up on you or your videos. Absolutely LOVE them!!!!!
You are AMAZING! Your determination and joy has been just so wonderful to watch! CONGRATULATIONS!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hike your own hike!! You have accomplished more than 90% of people who start the AT. So happy for you
Congratulations on this adventure. I loved your videos. You are an inspiration. God bless!
How wonderful to hear from you and be able to see you good luck on your finish, I get so excited every time you put a video out I am so thrilled for you! Enjoy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving😊
Thank you and you as well. Eat too much and enjoy it. 😂

Was such an AWESOME coincidence meeting you like that. You are a champion. Stay in touch.
