    hey, is it possible to disable vraydirt on RBG color render passage but get it on vrayextratex and then blend it in photoshop?

    I'm not getting the same effect on the ambient occlusion with dent-map. The size it takes on my screen doesn't match yours, and I'm not able to tweak the size/tiling params to get something that works. Does UVW-map-modifier affect the mapping of the dent? Also notice I use cm as display units, while u have mm.

      Noise-map worked well for me though! Thanks for this great tutorial Jake! Awesome effect to add to the exteriors.

      @@jonasrodningen Did you try changing Size in the Dent Parameters?

    • @jonasrodningen
      @jonasrodningen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jakedenham yeah, tried multiple sizes between 1-5000 I think, but didn't really get the right radius on the dirt.. I'm sure I'll figure it out if I dive even deeper.

      Check what map channel your UVs are on and what map channel your dent node is using also if it's using explicit map channel, real world, or object/world xyz. A lot of times when my node changes aren't taking effect on my model i end up finding my nodes are using a different map channel than the one my UVs are actually on.
      It could also be your unit set up. Some nodes you can set the values to be dependant on cm, mm etc which can differ from your in scene units, this may only be a nissue when using Real world scale though. You could just have the detail be so small that you cant see and it looks like it's not working. This happens to me a lot and something im still working on improving

    why does my vray dirt material turn my model black completely yet yours retains the texture in the viewport. thank you in advance

    • @CristianWSoza
      @CristianWSoza ปีที่แล้ว

      i think i understand why i.e turning on shaded material in viewport. could that be the mainly reason?
