Thank you to Jim for his influence and inspiration over the years, and for designing hobby kits from the builder's point of view! Stay tuned for Part II. Apologies for the pops in the audio. We appreciate our Tier 5 Patron, Mark S. Gustavson, Esq.
Just wanted to say Thank You Doug, for producing this video(I watched part 2 first inadvertently). Very glad you did the interview with Jim, not only being one of the early figures in model cars/companies, but a genuinely nice, good spirited person in the hobby, both then & now.
I just got back into the Hobby. Your videos are pure gold! Keep on going! 👍🏻😄 Can you also do some 101 and a walkaround at your studio - it looks fascinating.
I have built a Renwal Stutz with that parts pack turbine engine. I have a salt flats racer with two of those engines on the go. I always enjoy the stories behind the kits. Keep the videos coming.
I met Jim years ago at the 2015 GSL-NNL and he shared that very story with us about how he set up an interview at Aurora including some of his experiences there as well at the Salt Flats during the Breedlove run. He was so gracious that he drove us to his house and then took us to the Bonneville Salt Flats for a visit. Truly memorable trip and a great guy to boot!
