The side effects mentioned from using dry shampoo: hair follicle clogging, build up on your scalp, these things would still happen with the alternatives suggested.
Exactly, why not just wash your hair 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ nothing better than clean, and I mean REAL clean freshly washed hair. I just can’t go more than 2 days without washing my hair. Even my dermatologist recommended me to wash my hair EVERY DAY, especially for oily scalp, of course with a good gentle shampoo.
I don't think so, because natural dry shampoo doesn't have alcohols or any other chemicals that are sticky. You can brush the powder through your hair with a brush, so its not sitting on your scalp.
As someone who’s always humbly accepted comments from women and men that I have beautiful long thick hair. I’m going to say that I agree with you. I’ve never used dry shampoo because I got traumatized by two of my friends whom would get all dolled up with their hair dye, curls and “perfect looking” hair when we would go out ( I was the simple one who didn’t do anything to my hair) every time we’d go out I would get this awful smell it was perfume and all these hair products. one day I asked them “what do you use on your hair and they said dry shampoo” I put two and two together. They didn’t wash their scalp, they were so used to and couldn’t smell themselves but it was just very bad i could puke, I was imagining all of the hair product and all of the dust and smell the hair collects through the day mixed with not washing it for days and clogging the pores with the dry shampoo.. It all seemed like a disaster to me. I decided I would keep my natural color not dye it for as long as I can and wash it every day or every other day but I cannot do two days without washing it. It hasn’t caused me anything bad my scalp is healthy and I get a trim once a year. My routine : I wash it, I apply 5 drops of natural pure argan oil when it’s damp let it sit and I let it air dry then I brush it gently or I blow dry it during the winter when I’m running late. My hair is wavy so my curls come in natural. I never use a flat iron and I don’t own a curler. If I do want it flat then I comb it sitting under the sun. Lol I think the key is to let your hair be natural let it breathe and wash it. Don’t apply too much heat or products. I also get a gallon and go to the beach, I fill it with ocean water and then i put in a spray bottle and spray my hair with it during summer for extra vitamins :) I I hope my advice helps anyone :)
I’m not crazy! The same thing happened to me. I would dry shampoo for 3 or 4 days in a row. I started seeing a lot of hair loss last summer. My scalp would get scabs and acne spots. I did a test and stopped using it and my scalp has improved. I would always use Batiste too. Going to try some of your recommendations. Thanks for doing this video!
I would use dry shampoo all the time but then I found it would always leave a residue and make my hair feel like there was something in there. Almost like hairspray. But then I found out that you can use baby powder instead because it clings to oil. I put a little bit of cocoa powder in my baby powder bottle to make it brown since I’m a brunette too and it works perfectly! I try to only use it 2-3 times a week and I wash my hair only every 3-4 days depending.
Just research some dermatologist papers; some people can have some issues with it: First, if you clog the pores in your scalp you can make yourself prone to hair loss or seborrhea dermatitis and second Dry shampoo is, at heart, an oil-absorbing powder, and build-up can irritate your scalp and weaken hair follicles which, in turn, can possibly cause hair to fall out. (and of course, bleaching hair can make you prone to have hair loss because the structure of the hair has been compromise)
I’ve used corn starch and chocolate powder in my hair when I’ve run out of dry shampoo and I’ve noticed it works just as well as the real thing, I just like the application a lot more out of a spray bottle. My hair feels way better without either to be honest and I can even see how my natural curls really come out to play when I’m not using it on a daily basis, so I do think you might be on to something Also, comb through your hair while you have conditioning still in it (yes, in the shower) and start from the ends and work your way up. This is much more gently on hair and a time saver as well
Dry shampoo is like alcohol hand sanitizer. It is only a substitute for washing when you don't have soap and water available. Use dry shampoo when backpacking, camping, extended travels, or 24 hour hospital shifts.
I know Im asking randomly but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I love any help you can give me
Glad to see someone doing a video on dry shampoo. I see so many people using it on TH-cam and I’ve always thought to myself about how that can’t be good for your scalp health.
Yessss! I was also in love immediately when I found dry shampoo years ago. And you are right, it isn't good for your hair, because the alcohols dry out your hair, and makes it a bit sticky on your scalp. That's why I also suggest brushing it through. I make a dry shampoo that is a light brown that blends with all colors and textures. (I have a friend who has red curly hair who uses is.) One thing, baking soda is not necessary :( Its so harsh...and there isn't really any purpose for it in the ingredients. When you run out of that one, look for one without baking soda. The PH is just toooo low. Loved this video!
Love these alternatives, gonna try them. Honest question, do you think dying your hair is a good idea for your health? Do you take any precautions since there are a lot of chemicals in hair dye?
After consulting with a professional hairdresser, I found that washing my hair twice a week as I do it wasn't actually bad (as many people, especially on the internet) make it seem. So now I don't need dry shampoo anymore, I just wash my hair when needed, I'm just careful about which shampoo and conditioner I use.
I think its great to not over wash your hair but I also think you should wash it every week. I have seen people online rave about going weeks without washing then having scalp irritation.
I think it was a few years ago when those "how to wash your hair every two weeks" and similar videos were popular. So I was kind of unsure what to believe. But I think it's like with a lot of other things - if you don't overdo it, it's completely fine to wash your hair when you feel you need it.
I also just noticed a TON of shedding and thinning around my hairline (temples/sides of my head). I’ve stopped using dry shampoo but still try to only wash my hair every other day (I get so greasy) and have started using a comb instead of a Wet Brush. Hoping to see improvement soon! 💁🏻♀️
My hormones make my hair an ungodly greasy mess within two days after washing. I’ve tried washing less etc but as a regular exerciser I also get a sweaty and itchy scalp a lot. I use the Shea Moisture dry shampoo powder when desperate because I’ve read many spray ones have dangerous ingredients. They didn’t even work well for me. Nothing could really undo it except washing lol. Good luck, my fellow greasy ladies! 😝
This is definitely something not everyone is aware of until it happens to them! Me included. I was just like you with my dependency on dry shampoo until I noticed my hair thinning exactly where I apply the product. It’s been 9 months since I stopped using dry shampoo and my scalp is loving it! Using little to no hair products combined with oiling weekly, my hair grew back within a few months and I’m so thankful.
HealthNut Nutrition I use a tablespoon of castor oil mixed with half a tablespoon of coconut oil or sweet almond oil and a couple drops of rosemary essential oil and massage it in well and leave it on for an hour minimum before washing it out. Doing this regularly at least twice a week seriously made my hair grow so long so fast!
I wash my hair either every other day or every 2 days and that has solved my dandruff and hair fall problems to a great extent...I guess keeping scalp and hair clean is the key.
I’m so glad to know the reason! I will get rid out of dry shampoo right now!!! I’m losing my hair for a month and my husband find my hair everywhere 😭 and the hoover full of my hair, now I know the reason!! Thanks a lot!
Omg this is everything I’ve beeb dealing with. I’ve been using that same dry shampoo (batiste) for probably 8+ years. I’ve tried several other ones, but always fall back on old trusty. The last couple years though, I’ve been noticing SIGNIFICANT hair loss especially at my temple areas and hairline in front. So much so that I’ve been concerned it may be a symptom of a more serious health problem or something. But, the last month or two I’ve also been dealing with major dry scalp/peeling issues and that has led me to believe it may be from the dry shampoo due to the nature of its ingredients and it’s tendency to overly dry and absorb natural sebum. I have hair past my butt and it’s been terrifying watching my hairline thing (I’m only 24). Thank you for speaking up about your experience, I will definitely be trying some of the products you mentioned!!
Girl, I've been using the same brand for like 10 years and have same problem you're describing. I've been off it now since January, since I had the stupidly belated realisation. Seeing some improvements but gutted because my roots are greasy the day after washing. I look so dirty hahaha but I don't wanna lose my hair :(
I knew I wasn’t nuts!!!! This video makes me feel great. So many people are obsessed with DS and I’ve been laughed at bc I don’t like the concept of it. Thank you Nicole for putting this video out. Dry shampoo is overrated and hyped up but really not good for your scalp or health as it seeps into your pores.
I use dry shampoo pretty often and I've been beginning to suspect that it is causing breakage. After some research, I realized that all spray dry shampoos have denatured alcohol, which is drying, and could definitely be causing that issue. Thanks for this video. It helped me make up my mind to try a more natural option.
Oh my goodness I’ve been having issues with my hair getting thinner and almost brittle around my temple area too for the past year! I hadn’t thought about it being related to dry shampoo but that definitely makes since considering that’s where I use it the most. I was using a natural dry shampoo for awhile and kind of got sucked back into switched back because it wasn’t working as great as I was hoping. Looking back that’s about the same time I was noticing my hair thinning. I’ll have to try the ones you suggested and see if it helps! I used to get a lot of buildup from dry shampoo as well. It was even creating dandruff at times but I found a scalp brush that feels really great when shampooing that’s helped with buildup. It’s called Marvy shampoo brush and scalp invigorator. Definitely recommend it for a nice scalp massage while shampooing!
I stopped using dry shampoo as much as I once did because of the buildup it left. I never thought to link it to hair thinning. I definitely struggle with hair thinning on left side of my head. It's kinda funny! It started thinning back when I turned 35 and had a whole lot of stress in my life. Let's just say I didn't cope well. Haha! Got have a sense of humor. Thank for the links! I'll have to go check them out. 🤗
I’ve noticed that my hair has become oilier since using dry shampoo and I was searching videos about it and found yours! Gonna have to dry the natural one for sure.
This is so weird! I have been trying to figure out why my hair is getting thin, especially around my forehead for the last few weeks and now you post this video! I use dry shampoo maybe once a week now, but I used to use it a lot more. So it very well could be the cause. I’m curious to come back and read more comments to see if other people have the same issue. Thanks for bringing it up! I never would have thought of this.
I've been using dry shampoo more lately in the morning before I leave for work since I wash my hair at night. I've been noticing that my hair is falling out like crazy! It also ends up being greasy by the end of the day anyway. Excited to stop and see if that's the culprit. Will be looking into the products you recommended!
A fe drops of rosemary oil in your homemade dry shampoo / texturing hair powder can promote hair growth. In the 18th century Europeans who powdered their hair knew that you have to comb (with wide tooth comb) or massage your scalp well once a day (before going to bed?) to keep powder from clogging pores of the scalp, which will prevent hair loss.
I’m not a super redhead, but typically I just go for light and make sure to shake my hair really real to avoid a gray or white cast. I tend to get some natural blonde highlights in the summer so that helps, lol. Can’t wait for the cookbook!
I’m shocked. Before I started using dry shampoo regularly, around 4 years ago, my hair was finally healthy and shiny after being so damaged and over processed. Lately however my hair has been falling out in the shower in small chunks. Not enough to be alarming, but it adds up after a while. Getting rid of the buildup has also been challenging, so I’ll definitely try to implement some of the tips you mentioned like the ACV rinse! In the meantime, no more dry shampoo for a while 😬
As shifted to Australia , few months I find my hairs are growing but it stops and start falling its normal for Australian. But I agree with u dry shampoo not only causes hair fall but also causes scalp fungus...
General comment: Try to shower everyday, and eliminate the dry shampoo. if you don't want to use the shampoo use water. That might even help with having oily hair or losing / thinning of hair. If it doesn't help, then it's some chemical imbalance.
Ahh yes! I wondered this and hated the texture anyways! This is why I started making my own! I even add essential oils that are meant for helping hair keep its thickness! It's organic, just a few ingredients, I make it for darker hair, and my hair has never been happier/healthier! I'll be uploading that video (with recipe) in the next couple weeks!
I also used dry shampoo for years now and my hair has a lot of breakage. I tried so many things but nothing seems to help. This morning I had an idea, that dry shampoo may be the cause of my hair breakage and google it. I don't know how I never heard of this issue before or never saw somebody speak on this topic. I am speechless, but full of hope that in one year time my hair will be looking healthy again.
hey! Great video! I was wondering what is in the ingredients that make the dry shampoo balding, and how do we know that these ones you suggest don't have the same effect? The fact that they are organic/ natural doesnt neccessarily mean that they are good for the scalp?
Speaking of growing Cashew is super cute. I’m just a little concerned on how thin she is. A little too thin for a puppy. Just making sure she’s healthy. Thanks for this video, very helpful actually.
I have oily hair and need to wash my hair everyday or I'll break out on my scalp. I've had this problem since I was a teen. So I started using dry shampoo every other day instead of washing it everyday last year. My hair is so healthy, shining and long now. People who haven't seen me since Covid always ask me what I did to my hair.
Also, sorry, did you notice an increase in split ends when you started using dry shampoo too? I feel like my hair breakage has been so bad. I always attributed it to swimming in the ocean so much.
Me, too! I actually stopped bleaching my hair two years ago and have completely natural hair. Still I have quite some breakage and was also wondering if dry shampoo is the reason..
This makes a lot of sense! Plus, the harmful chemicals in dry shampoo can’t be good for you hair or scalp! They’re usually highly fragranced, and artificial fragrance is known to be a skin irritant!
Hi Nikole, I wash my hair every day because I get soooooo sweaty at the gym. I wish I could wash every other day. That being said, I used to have blonde high lights in my hair and I also straighten my hair. I do not like my curls. When my hair got to a certain point, it would NOT grow. My hairdresser told me I had to choose between straight or the bleach, my hair couldn't handle both. I chose to go with my natural color and my hair is now very long and super healthy. I use minimal heat and air dry my hair as much as I can. Since I do wash every day I had to be kinder to my hair. I use quality shampoo and conditioner and minimal chemicals including dry shampoo etc. My daughter uses the dry shampoo so I will be sharing this information with her as well. Thanks for the video. Off topic, do you have a video with a recipe for buffalo cauliflower?
I have virgin hair and my hair is thick I decided to try the dry shampoo method to not wash my hair every 3 days mostly because my hair would get very oily within the 2nd day. Furthermore I started to use it once a week for a month and started noticing my hair was thinning and I was losing it as well I don’t use other products or heat tools on my hair I just let it be I will stop using dry shampoo now.
Have you tried to make your own dry shampoo? It is super simple, just mix equal parts of arrowroot starch and cocoa powder. If blond skip the cocoa powder and only use the arrowroot. Love your videos and tips! XO
I make my own dry shampoo.., super cheap and easy. Arrowroot, Coacoa powder, baking poder and essential oil. Works better than leading brands and isn’t dangerous to inhale like many powders are
I have never used Dry Shampoo....ever. But, someone just told me about it so I bought it. I am 54 and I have been told by many people that my hair is so healthy and beautiful. My hairdresser says it's super. I don't wash my hair every day. I don't constantly brush or comb it only on wash days. I use my fingers to style and comb on off days. A secret I totally believe in is biotin. I take it everyday or if I'm having whole eggs, I will skip that day. I eat organic ones. I use 2 egg whites with one egg. Or, if my hair is stressed I do both, eggs and capsules (NOW co). This is no joke, many diets deficient in biotin results in hair loss or lack of growth. I know this is totally true because I actually make an egg everyday for my Jack Russell who's 8 years old and he has the coat of a puppy and he doesn't shed like most Jacks do. He is very youthful. Also, blow drying every single day is not good. I will proceed with caution on the dry shampoo which I bought for vacation.
Dry shampoo has ruined my hair. It's thinning like crazy in the roots especially at the front. I only wash my hair twice a week but my hair gets very oily plus I work out a lot so I was using it evey day and for YEARS! I noticed a few months ago that I had really bad breakage, split ends, hair loss and thinning at the front of my hear. I was panicking thinking I was going bald but started doing my research and turns out dry shampoo used in excess can cause hair loss. I've stopped and I'm hoping that my hair recovers!
I dont enjoy using dry shampoo because sometimes it will make my hair itch and cause a lot of build up. My hair would still feel gross yenno? I dont feel clean going to bed knowing theres product in my hair.
Dry shampoo from my experience has stopped my hair from growing, has anyone else found this? I don’t see how using anything as an alternative would not still have this affect!?
I just make my own.. equal part baking powder & equal part unsweetened cocoa powder, whisk together in a bowl and use a clean big makeup brush to brush in areas needed, let sit a few minutes then brush your hair👍🏻very cheap and totally works!
Briogeo Scalp Revival charcoal and biotin dry shampoo is the best (available at well.ca and Sephora. I also have dark roots and blonde highlights. It rubs in so nicely and smells amazing. It’s cleansing and calming for your scalp. Live Clean has a great Apple cider vinegar clarifying shampoo. Also...try a Wet Brush to brush wet hair! I was struggling with hair breakage and find these three products have worked wonders ✌️
Not sure if I’ve asked you this before 🤷♀️ but what shade and brand is your lipstick 💄? It’s lovely 😊...Also I stopped using dry shampoos because it just feels awful. I feel like it matted my hair
Idk how people can go days without washing your hair, doesn’t it smell after a while? I can’t go more than one day without shampoo and conditioning my hair! Dry shampoo makes my scalp itch and I find it doesn’t make my hair feel any cleaner, it’s just masks the grease and oil. Girls, just wash your hair.
Rachael Draper Especially if you cook (love onions and garlic)or work outside. Even traffic smells gets stuck in there. I can go every other day or I’ll rinse with conditioner or something, anything.
The best dry shampoo is to use dryer sheets on your roots and wrapping your hair in a 100% cotton t shirt while at home and cooking, even while working out.
I don’t use dry shampoo that much but when I do it’s usually me going out somewhere and don’t exactly feel like/don’t have time to actually wash my hair. Yes I do use a natural dry shampoo but I only use it once in between washes
Dry shampoo is so popular but I never liked it. I just don't get it. "Don't wash you hair every day to not remove natural oils. use dry shampoo to remove oils" .. isn't this contradicting? Maybe I'm just missing something.🤔
I think everyone has a little hair loss. I wash my hair every other day, haven’t dyed it in over a decade and I also never blow dry it or use a straighter or curler on it. I do use dry shampoo maybe once a week, and I’ve had hair loss before I ever started using it. I also switched to all natural shampoos and conditioners about 3 months ago. I loose a little hair but it’s still pretty thick.
I tried one brand of dry shampoo and it made my scalp itch so bad. I couldn't wait to wash it out. I was thinking of doing an apple cider rinse on my head and was wondering do you dilute it with water and just pour it on?
Good info as always:) The Kaia Naturals Dry Shampoo link you have provided it's for a different product but do you know if the dry shampoo is still available to purchase on Amazon cause I can't find it?
Im so glad someone made a video about this! My hair thinned significantly last year, I don’t think dry shampoo was the sole culprit, but it was definitely a factor.
I have been using simple Glutinous Rice Flour (yes, simply from an Indian food store) for years every other day i.e. when u don't shampoo. So it's all natural. Yet, I'm starting to think it may be contributing to the thinning I'm noticing st my temples. I'm going to stop using it completely.
THANK YOU for this video. I used to have a lot of hair and then suddenly I notice hat i had half of what i did an dmy texture changes it was like thinner i dont know, i thought it was because of a hormonal thing or coloring it (even though I've done it for years and i dont use bleach) etc I tried soo many things and stopped doing a lot of things to get my hair back having no luck, never thought about it being dry shampoo but I guess maybe it was I stopped using 5 months ago and my hair is sooo much better
Thanks for the recommendations! Both products sound like doable DIY and would make a great video for you to do!! I agree it can’t be helping our scalp and hair growth!
Can you tell me more about the apple cider vinegar rinse you mentioned a couple times? Is it just straight ACV? Thanks! Love your channel and your shop!! :) xoxo
I’m currently using the ACV rinse by Pureology. It doesn’t have a smell which is nice in the shower. I’ve made my own with ACV and it works great too, less expensive for sure.
@studyn00k and @HealthNut Nutrition, good questions I wanted to ask too, what types of shampoo and conditioners do you use or have you mentioned before in another video? Also, you mentioned apple cider vinegar, do you think then maybe it is a good thing to use in detoxification? Do you know if it alters dyed hair's color? I can ask my hair dresser that one too. And lastly, you had mentioned a natural hairspray, do you have a go to or one you always use? May we ask? Or may we ask ones that didnt work well for you, if you have tried others?
It makes sense! The 1st ingredient in all dry shampoo is Butane! Hello!? BUTANE!! And it’s not a theory. There is plenty of research to prove what you are saying.
I feel the same, I started getting hair loss around my hairline and started thinking back what it is that I changed and it's dry sjampoo. I moved to a tropical island (sweating a LOT) so started using it a LOT! I think you have a point I am stopping it now
i stopped using dry shampoo coz it would always itch my skin ;( on my 3rd day when i have oily i wash my hairline around face with only warm water, same with parting. than blow dry it. i go 5 days without shampooin my hair. i have bleached fine and wavy hair.
I wash my hair almost everyday and I have oily hair. My hair is fine and people compliment it all the time. I’ve been washing it every other day ever since I could remember myself as a kid lol. I’m 38 now. My hair is full, shiny thick and long :)
This young lady is confused about where the crown of her head.... I hope you all take this as a suggestion and not as a good for all. Ask a professional before you stop or start changing your hair routine. Genetics as well as outside forces and good/bad habits affect hair growth and loss. She may be giving dry shampoo too much credit. Take this with a grain of salt.
I don't get it... the way you're using dry shampoo now sounds like would have worked with the previous products you're saying had damaging and pore clogging ingredients...
Omg. Your dog was so distracting I found I was watching him lick or itch himself instead of watching you. Maybe just put some clips in of him at the end.🤷♀️

Your video is very useful for many people, it helps their lives healthier. like video :)
6:30 minutes to get to the useful info.
Thanks, so boring waiting to get to the interesting stuff! No need for the waffling!
Ditto...just get to the info...
She said Dry shampoo 1,543 times ... Smfh
thanks, i hate basic bitches like this
americans talk too much
thank you because i hate long intros

I don't think so, because natural dry shampoo doesn't have alcohols or any other chemicals that are sticky. You can brush the powder through your hair with a brush, so its not sitting on your scalp.
I wash my hair at least every other day too. I can't stand it if I don't, and I have VERY healthy hair and... no breakage...just beautiful hair.
Exactly.
As someone who’s always humbly accepted comments from women and men that I have beautiful long thick hair. I’m going to say that I agree with you.
Running around in Australia’s extreme sun with bleached hair is probably what caused a lot of the breakage, uv rays can be the death of processe hair
I’m not crazy! The same thing happened to me. I would dry shampoo for 3 or 4 days in a row. I started seeing a lot of hair loss last summer. My scalp would get scabs and acne spots. bleaching her hair and thinking hair loos comes from dry shampoo ^^ nice ^^
Was just about to say the same thing 😂😂😂
WRONG D-
TeylaDex I’ve been getting highlights since I was 16 and I’ve never experienced hair loss until about a year into using dry shampoo.
Just research some dermatologist papers; some people can have some issues with it:
First, if you clog the pores in your scalp you can make yourself prone to hair loss or seborrhea dermatitis
and second Dry shampoo is, at heart, an oil-absorbing powder, and build-up can irritate your scalp and weaken hair follicles which, in turn, can possibly cause hair to fall out.
(and of course, bleaching hair can make you prone to have hair loss because the structure of the hair has been compromise)
Dry shampoo is shit for your hair.
So you’re condemning dry shampoo, yet you’re still promoting... dry shampoo?
I’ve used corn starch and chocolate powder in my hair when I’ve run out of dry shampoo and I’ve noticed it works just as well as the real thing, I just like the application a lot more out of a spray bottle. My hair feels way better without either to be honest and I can even see how my natural curls really come out to play when I’m not using it on a daily basis, so I do think you might be on to something
Also, comb through your hair while you have conditioning still in it (yes, in the shower) and start from the ends and work your way up. This is much more gently on hair and a time saver as well
does the starch and chocolate mix last for 24 hours? i also feel like it would attract bugs but idk

Glad to see someone doing a video on dry shampoo. I see so many people using it on TH-cam and I’ve always thought to myself about how that can’t be good for your scalp health.

Love these alternatives, gonna try them. Honest question, do you think dying your hair is a good idea for your health? Do you take any precautions since there are a lot of chemicals in hair dye?
Use henna!
How do you explain people with bald spots who never dyed their hair?🙄
After consulting with a professional hairdresser, I found that washing my hair twice a week as I do it wasn't actually bad (as many people, especially on the internet) make it seem.
“the dry shampoo smells like hot cocoa”
*checks ingredients label*
it quite literally is hot cocoa haha
I agree it’s just not talked about. What oil do you use? Do you do oil massages?
It makes my head itch like crazy! I had to stop using it. But I’d love another healthier option.
I have noticed such a big different from the amount of hair shedding on my flour and tub ever since I stopped
Cristen Krautheim did you use it like several days in a row or did you wash your hair after one day of using it, & still got that negative effect?
A fe drops of rosemary oil in your homemade dry shampoo / texturing hair powder can promote hair growth. In the 18th century Europeans who powdered their hair knew that you have to comb (with wide tooth comb) or massage your scalp well once a day (before going to bed?) to keep powder from clogging pores of the scalp, which will prevent hair loss.
The Primally Pure Natural Charcoal deodorant is amazing. It actually works against odor if you are looking for a natural deodorant!
I’m not a super redhead, but typically I just go for light and make sure to shake my hair really real to avoid a gray or white cast. I tend to get some natural blonde highlights in the summer so that helps, lol. Can’t wait for the cookbook!
Great video! So often do you use natural dry shampoo these days?
Stopped using DS for this exact reason, noticed it too.
stress should be the main factor, more so than the external factors
Hmm that's interesting. I've experienced the exact same thing since I moved to Australia but I don't use dry shampoo🤔
Maria Paula Garcia Arrazola perhaps the water over there?
Off topic, do you have a video with a recipe for buffalo cauliflower?
thank you for sharing! and not yet but I am recipe testing :)
@@HealthNutNutrition I didn't think so. I've watched all you videos but I couldn't remember. I'd love to see this in a future recipe video yum;)
How is your hair now? Did it recover?
I dont enjoy using dry shampoo because sometimes it will make my hair itch and cause a lot of build up. My hair would still feel gross yenno? I dont feel clean going to bed knowing theres product in my hair.
dry shampoo is not meant for greasy, dirty hair. it's meant for "urgh, my hair has a bit of a shine and i don't have time for a wash now" hair
Should I consider buying the Eva nyc dry shampoo? It’s vegan 🌱
"Don't wash you hair every day to not remove natural oils. use dry shampoo to remove oils"
.. isn't this contradicting? Maybe I'm just missing something.🤔
Cashew is SO big!! Whaaatt!!
I know!! Wait till you see her in person again 🤦🏻♀️
@@HealthNutNutrition She's not going to fit on my lap anymore!! 😢
I only use it when I straighten my hair (which is a rare occurrence) and want my style to last. I’ve had the same bottle for a few years now.
Thanks for the recommendations! Both products sound like doable DIY and would make a great video for you to do!! I agree it can’t be helping our scalp and hair growth!
Dry shampoo has made my hair break off along my part and crown.
I used to use corn starch, and even though I have almost black hair it worked great
Can you tell me more about the apple cider vinegar rinse you mentioned a couple times? Is it just straight ACV? Thanks! Love your channel and your shop!! :) xoxo
You have to dilute it with the same amount of water. So if you take 500mL of ACV then you have to mix it with 500mL of water.
Im going to link the other hair products I use in the info box :)
Video starts 1:09.
It makes sense! The 1st ingredient in all dry shampoo is Butane! Hello!? BUTANE!! And it’s not a theory. There is plenty of research to prove what you are saying.
what do you mean with apple cider rinse? after we have to rinse with water or no? thanks!
Hi 😊 thank you so much! I'm having the same problem. Bisou from Paris 😊
I never heard of dry shampoo
Hee hee hee. Hon I am 70 and we girls used it at camp as kids. It was uck but we could not wash our hair often.
I never use dry shampoo before so it is bad if I'm starting use dry shampoo
do I need to rinse my scalp with applecider/vinegar even if I would use dry shampoo like once a week??
I feel the same, I started getting hair loss around my hairline and started thinking back what it is that I changed and it's dry sjampoo. I moved to a tropical island (sweating a LOT) so started using it a LOT! I think you have a point I am stopping it now
Did you notice a difference so far?
i stopped using dry shampoo coz it would always itch my skin ;( on my 3rd day when i have oily i wash my hairline around face with only warm water, same with parting. than blow dry it. i go 5 days without shampooin my hair. i have bleached fine and wavy hair.
Is bad to wash your hair everyday if it’s oily
I wash my hair almost everyday and I have oily hair. My hair is fine and people compliment it all the time. I’ve been washing it every other day ever since I could remember myself as a kid lol. I’m 38 now. My hair is full, shiny thick and long :)
what about using flour on the scalp? and then brushing it out? will this weaken the scalp/hair too?
I haven’t tried that but you can use arrow root flour
I think baby powder will work
Coke would work amazing!
Well I only use it maybe 2 to 3 times a year. (Not single use like 2 or 3 days in row) will I be okay?🥺🥺😂 or should I just stop in all.
What brands of natural hair serum and hairspray do you use?
I will link them in the info box!
Do you think the DMDM hydantoin has been a cause too?
I don't get it... the way you're using dry shampoo now sounds like would have worked with the previous products you're saying had damaging and pore clogging ingredients...
I find Cashew interrupts your Videos too much now.
Beet root powder is great for red heads
Omg, I totally agree, I have thought that for years when using aerosol dry shampoo.
Some dry shampoo had propane in it 😬
Omg. Your dog was so distracting I found I was watching him lick or itch himself instead of watching you. Maybe just put some clips in of him at the end.🤷♀️
Your video is very useful for many people, it helps their lives healthier. like video :)
A lot of Ayurvedic herbs are good at cleansing the hair as well as conditioning.
Your hair is uneven my ocd is killing me 😤
thanks for the tips.
