My brother in law had a friend that had a 66 Ford XL with the 427 dual carb. It was the ultimate sleeper cause he kept it nice and quiet until you saw his taillights.
Well Donald knows me and really the difference on your breather top is the ribs on the top plate have the cut out for the 63-64 427 eagle but no holes for one. Power brakes were not available on the r or w codes.
Incorrect on the air cleaner lid. The medium riser lids have the deeper recess than the low riser lids. That how you can ID them. My 1967 Fairlane R code XL has power disc brakes so it not out of the realm for this car to have had them to, I need to research this more though. Thanks for watching the video!!
I agree to disagree on the air cleaner top but also is it not a side oiler block I could see if it had screw in freeze plugs or oil galley but that is one nice car . I am in no way picking your car apart. Maybe I will run up on you one day. I go by Donnie Jones
Just got in from my Shop and kicking back a little bit here in Klamath Falls. Great video Dave! I need to start making videos myself…. LOL 😂 I know, we talked about this before….
in 1974 i looked at one of these and a BOSS429 for 25 hundred each ,, the BOSS had a knock in the motor ,, the Galixie i just was not very enthused about .. i bought a r code 69 stang instead from a junkyard for 250 $ .. had to put a left fender and bumper on it ..
G'day from Australia again, Thank you for answering my enquiry really appreciate it. What size tyres 14 or 15 inch rims ? Just love these Hardtop Fastback big Fords something you will not see in Australia extremely rare. Cheers Louis Kats 👍

Union Carbide used to make 'transistor radio' batteries that didn't leak acid if they ran dry. I broke one open years ago just to see and there were only carbon pucks inside. It's possible that they could have put those ones in the tachometer. But yeah all the rest would leak damaging acid when the voltage crashed.
'66 7 Litre was it's own model, and had it's own badges. '67 was an option, not a stand-alone model and 7 litre horn button was about it for the '67. This is a very rare car.
Even though they are more work than anticipated it's still gotta be better working on all those great old cars then working on an endless stream of wrecked new junk🤣
No the original engine was removed by a previous owner who didn't want to sell it back to the new owner. The new engine is as close as you can get and dated for the car

Wow brother can’t wait to hear that baby run
This is crazy rare and so many parts extremely hard to find. Just beautiful guys.
I saw 1967 Ford Galaxies being built at the Ford plant in Highland Park, St Paul on a school fieldtrip.
That's very cool! Thanks for watching!
Wow, what an incredible car !! Damn...
Thanks for watching!!
I restored a 67xl convertible 390 2 bbl..loved that car.. sold her in 2020 for 14k.
Can’t imagine what this beauty is worth now!
what a killer car..love 67's...
I love it!
I've always been a fan of these 1 year only bodies. This will be something very special when it's done.
What a solid old 67. Love the hubcaps. This will be a killer car I could find room for in my garage. 😁 Looking forward to watching the progress.
Donald Allen sold me a matching numbers 1963 ford 300 2 door q code 427 4 sod. He is a great guy.

What happened to the original valve covers.
They are with the original engine
What a great find, this will really stand out in a sea of Chevelles and Mustangs
That is one handsome devil!

Imagine buying all those cars when guys were just throwing them away and keeping them all these years...nice 401K
i went thru 20 or more cars that would be worth 50 to a 100 k or more today @@mydirtygarage
Is their a marti report on the car?
Yes there is. It's the only one optioned just like this and may be the very last full size Ford ever built with a 427 engine
G'day from Australia
What makes this 1 of 1
Cheers
Louis Kats 👍
It one of only 89 built in 1967 with the 427 R code engine and the only one with the options this car has. Thanks for watching!!!

Just love these Hardtop Fastback big Fords something you will not see in Australia extremely rare.

No 7 liter badges ?

100% correct
What gearing is in the 9 inch?
3.50 open rear like most of them
@@mydirtygarage Oh wow. Not sure how they did it back then. I have a top loader and 3.50 gearing in my Mustang. 3K plus RPM on the highway.
I know where a '66 "7 Liter" coupe is.
Even though they are more work than anticipated it's still gotta be better working on all those great old cars then working on an endless stream of wrecked new junk🤣
No new cars for me!🤣
Selling it?
Not at this time. Thanks for watching!
So this engine is not the engine the car was born with?
No the original engine was removed by a previous owner who didn't want to sell it back to the new owner. The new engine is as close as you can get and dated for the car
Stupid music in the beginning why?
I like it. Thanks for watching!
