Ed, it is never too late. I didn’t collect the US EPs, but now I have been looking at them again.... I have the 1982 reissues, but the collector in me is not satisfied.
The 'music on vinyl' release is a nice one to own great sound plus well made cover-Remember seeing the concert on TV in London a good few years later it was a very good concert it did't sound that great on a small family TV back then ! with today's technology it looks and sounds fantastic now
A nice collection of Aloha albums and related records. I have just the UK pressing bought back in the 80's. Plus CD releases. Two more LP's I was thinking of just because of the covers were U.S.Male UK Camden LP and K-Tel LP The Ultimate Performance using images from Aloha, wasn't keen on either of these LP's and sold them.
Never knew their was so many versions of the live ALBUM. It seems like JAPAN always out did the U.S. and UK releases when it came to the art work on albums and singles.
Hello, The cover of the US version is a second release. The first version of the cover the song titles were printed a sticker and were pasted on the back cover on the shrink wrap. Also this was not broad cast world wide by satellite.Check with Elvis Australia.
Nice collection of EP. I have a few of the things you have there - the big white DVD Aloha set, and the one on your shelf of the '68 special, and a few other things. The original covers of most of Elvis' 70s LPs were atrocious - usually a same ol, same ol pic of Elvis in a jumpsuit, patched onto whatever bland cover someone came up with this time around, etc. I'd love to have your original Aloha LP set though, with the Quadrophonic. That one's a definite find, irrelevant pictures and all.
Nice set. When Elvis witnessed her marriage, Reiko Yukawa asked him for a kiss. Her husband was there and Elvis asked him if he was okay with it. He said he wanted him to do it so Elvis kissed her on the lips. She described his kiss as "nice and soft, like a peeled mandarin orange." 😄
Funny that after kissing so many women, he asked permission. It’s a good story, apparently the Colonel didn’t want Elvis to sign the certificate, but he ignored him.
@@tcbsince73 Colonel was probably peeved because he couldn't charge a fee for it. Reiko's still alive, actually. She was just one year younger than Elvis.
@@tcbsince73 elvis never kissed anyone that didn't offer themselves to be kissed. He Never did in all the footage I have seen. He was a courteous, well-mannered man.
Was there ever a documentary film about this event ? It was such an accomplishment and cultural phenomenon that it seems like it should have been documented at the time to show the different people around the world watching in in their homes or in group settings.
tight-ass manager Carny-man prolly would have nixed that idea. Don't want to place too much emphasis on THE WORLD the freak prevented Elvis from touring! Parker always had excuses as to why Elvis couldn't go to anyplace but the US. NONE were logical or legit.
Another great video... I'd heard of the EP but had never seen it until now...brilliant. I have four vinyl versions, one a quad plus the 4LP reissue,,and a late 70s reissue that my brother gave to me with an insert. On three versions of the album the spoken intro before My Way is omitted, but on an 80s black label PL reissue the intro is intact.I also remember my Dad having an original UK edition that also featured the intro...does anyone know why this is?
First of all, the extra bonus tracks after the concert were not boring, the after nite concert feel were some of the best music he had made in some time. And as far as the artwork, sure could a been better, but by far, not uninspired. Good Times anyone ?
WITH THE ALOHA QUAD ALBUM, ORIGINALLY RELEASED WITH A DARK/ BURNT ORANGE LABEL, THE REGULAR ORANGE LABLE WAS A 2ND REISSUE.....however, i always add to a elvis you tube section that the r.c.a. quad 8 tracks contained totally different mix's of the songs, most of the song in which the brass section was overpowering it was eliminated or the barely beable to be heard and some songs the back up singers were eliminated, never heard it on a quad reel to reel but i am sure the decoder worked just as well, i had a r..c.a. quad systemnand playing the records you could not really notice any difference but the quad 8 tracks were a treasure unto them selves, just hope one day they will release the quad mix's.
I've always thought, after such an important event as this was , what a crap cover RCA put out after the event...typical of the crap covers they used in the seventies! cheers my friend!
They were hopeless. There are hundreds of thousands of fantastic photos of Elvis but they always picked an uninspired and irrelevant picture. A lot of recent releases by other companies show what should have been done,

Never heard of Sandro before. I think the difference is the countries which took the broadcast. Elvis' show was picked up by national tv companies around the globe, but I can only find reference to Sandro's being picked up in Argentina? The first world-wide broadcast was the 1967 "Our World" show but that featured many artists around the world.

MOV do a good job. Performances from the show are very popular on TH-cam with music ‘reactors’ who have never heard Elvis before.

The Camdens were all I could afford on my pocket money.

RCA artwork was usually awful, they didn’t seem to care. It rarely had anything to do with the content of the album.
Thanks enjoyed your video.

Thanks for that. Yes I have seen the Australian video, we did not get the show in UK until after Elvis died.

I didn’t say boring. I think he looked tired, after delivering a fantastic concert. He always gave everything on stage. But that is just my opinion.
The reason that the Jukebox E.P. Didn’t have the large hole is because jukeboxes were designed to play those at 33 speed.
Thanks Jack, I didn’t know that. Jukeboxes didn’t seem to be as popular here in the U.K.
