      You don’t feel that the large is pretty small for your height? I’m probably 186cm and I’m finally on a bike with a 485mm reach and it feels so liberating

      Hey Scotty, You say you run 165psi in the rear shock. What do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? I have the '20 ransom 920, I weigh ~90kg and roll around 230-240psi to keep from using all travel on fairly tame trails. Thoughts?

    Nice build Scotty. Happy to see that a 189 tall guy also rides a size L, frame makes it more fun to ride steep trails and jumps. The new color looks flashy. Enjoy the bike :) . Wondering how it rides with a Fox 38 180mm Grip2 fork when you visit the WC in Champery it could be handy.

    Scotty, my kids and I are huge fans of your videos. We all ride Scott MTBs and I ride the Ransom Tuned. You inspire us seeing all the great videos you do and showing me what that Ransom is capable of. Maybe one day I can push it at your level🤔. Ya probably not😜. Good work brother 🍻

    How much air pressure do you use in fork and shock? How much sag? And how much do you weigh?

    • @ScottyLaughland
      @ScottyLaughland  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      79psi in the fork and 165psi in the shock. I weigh 78kgs and run around 30% sag!

  • @repenning1
    @repenning1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    great bike. Why did you not get the Hixon bar? I swapped the original wheels with Zipp motos and run magic marys front and back with pretty low pressure (I am not racing). The Ransom + Zipp combo feels super buttery on chunky rock gardens.

    Hey Scotty!! Nice bike brother!! Love it. I'm about to jump and buy a Ransom 910 2020 (the color on that bike is sick...but I rather like more the orange...jajja). Anyway. My question is, Size M for 180cm is a good choice? Would it feel a fine or it migh feel a bit cramped?? Thanks!! Take care.

    • @ScottyLaughland
      @ScottyLaughland  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man, that’ll be a nice bike! I love the Ransom and just put 29-er’s back on it... Size wise is a hard one, you’re right in the middle for either. I’d probably be inclined to say the medium?!

    • @aguadoia
      @aguadoia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scotty Laughland thanks!! I’ll do that. Also read that enduro bikes are better if you size them a bit down since they are more agile, is that correct?. Thanks for the advice. Can’t wait to try it out in the next couple weeks. Super stoked!!

    Hi there, nice review and bike. At 180 would you recommend the M size, or still L? Cheers

    • @ScottyLaughland
      @ScottyLaughland  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have the opportunity to sit on one and see for yourself? I should be on the XL really but prefer the smaller bike for being able to through around. It’s a little personal preference and a little of what works for you!

    • @notapplicable6274
      @notapplicable6274 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Medium or large? At 5’10” the medium fits well after some fitment upgrades. That’s with a 40mm stem. Stock is 50mm. Bars replaced from 10mm to 30mm rise. Medium or large? Taller than 5’11,large recommended. At 5”9’, medium recommended. Either way the bike is awesome. Hub engagement sucks though🙏🔑✌️

    • @rudySTi
      @rudySTi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ScottyLaughland Press fit is a garbage technology that makes your BB unservicable since you're not replacing the bearing housing when replacing the bearings. Why press fit? It's cheaper since you don't have to cut a thread in the frame. Respectable brands like Santa Cruz and Specialized don't embarrass themselves with press fit. I know you are sponsored, but there is really no room to defend the shortcuts Scott takes. Let's hope they start making threaded BB frames since their geo and feel is great and they look awesome.

      Woah chill man this bloke just made a super high quality video for your entertainment and all you can do is find the only bad thing about it and complain about it. I'm sure there's a reason for it and it's clearly not the end of the world seeing how high quality these bikes are...

    • @ScottyLaughland
      @ScottyLaughland  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the main reason they choose pressfit is for weight advantages. You don’t need a threaded insert in addition to the face. I’ve no problem with pressfit, it’s easy to maintain and I haven’t had any issues riding in a primarily wet climate!
