if im reading this right you are saying that the new rebooted gossip girl could never top the OG gossip girl? and yes i do somewhat agree with you. but i just think this new gossip girl fits in where most of us are in age now. gossip girl isn’t a blog now it’s an instagram account which by far is already making the show amazing. and the outfits and the technology in the show is so fresh and new. i didn’t grow up watching the OG gossip girl. i actually watched it for the first time right when covid first hit so i guess i don’t have the feel of the OG when it was new back then but im loving the new GG just as much and maybe a little bit better than the OG. and the OG was in like what the CW? so the show was PG-13 whereas this new one is more like provocative and is more of an adult show which is the age most of us are now that watched the OG

SPOILERS*** dan had a threesome w vanessa and his gf (hilary duff) so he’s questioning his feelings for her and vanessa doesn’t know that (hense the weird face) rufus (the dad) doesn’t know lily (the mom) was “sick” with cancer and was receiving treatment from her ex husband who is estranged from the family (abandoned his kids long story) vanessa and her mom just have mother daughter beef, eric was mad at jenny (taylor) for acting like the queen of school and ruining some shit bc his boyfriend was gonna be her date so he sabotaged her cotillion by having her date pair up with someone else. blair thinks her mom is pregnant but really shes trying to move to paris and her maid is pregnant. tripp and serena are having an affair and nate was the one who exposed them which was a big deal bc he’s in politics and married.
also serena has been trying to get in contact w her dad so she’s beefing w her mom later bc she finds a letter from her dad addressed to her so this scene in general is a lot of drama that we know about and exposes some shit soon to come
