This reminds me of tobymacs song where he says "I don't want to gain the whole world and loose my soul". He's a big artist that is played regularly on the radio but his lyrics really resonate with me because his lyrics aren't generic he blatantly praises God in his music and I can really relate. I do feel like some "Christian" artist try and make it big for all the wrong reasons and some songs don't seem like they are really praising God, but when they are I can just feel it in my heart. I feel you, Tye! I was approached by a label executive and he wanted me to do the unthinkable. I knew it would have gotten ne a contract, but I felt like Tye. I would have never known if it was my "talent" inside or outside the bedroom. Not only that, the only wage of sin is death, not prosperity. I love God too much to willfully taint the anointing He's given me.
My mom was an artist about 30 years ago, Christian music that I think was pretty good. ASCAP offered a deal with her, but were requiring her to mild out the message of Christ into merely good vibes and kindness. She refused, and I respect her for it. Thanks for your heart, Tye. We get to the counter it was policy to check I.D. I went into a dead stare looking at him (feeling silly) he smiled and said yes it’s me. He was the most humble,calm & chill person! Tye we’re here the ones fighting to stay pure the ones becoming pure! We need your gift! I go through depression days/seasons and your music is on my healing playlist! Please don’t stop!
I walked away from the industry 40 years ago. People still asked me why I quit. I tried to explain it,but, a lot of people did not believe what i said was going on that i just could not deal with.

I worked as a road manager in both gospel and secular music for 4 years in the early 2000's. The things I witnessed AND participated in would blow your mind. I never try to make myself available look innocent and throw people under the bus. But the gospel industry was THE DIRTIEST by far. I ended up leaving the church all together because of the things I witnessed. And we dealt with churches all over the country. Big and small. I was much younger then. I was in a very low point in my life. After leaving gospel music industry and church my life became abundantly better. Today I have a beautiful, loving, PERSONAL with God. Priceless. BTW I worked with Ty a lot and he was one of the few that I can honestly say that I never seen or heard anything that goes against what he says he believes in.

Can anyone who is willing pray for my neighbor he’s been getting seizures nonstop and the doctor said they don’t know if he’ll make it. He is addicted to alcohol and has been trying lately. Some one gave him alcohol and tributes his epilepsy. My mom went and ministered to him and I believe he’s been willing to give his love to Jesus. While he was on the ground, barely responsive, no strength, couldn’t speak, move, and barely opened his eyes I was singing a song he always used to sing and he barely raised his head and faintly sang the line “amazing grace” and dropped his head. Right!! I listen to 80s, 90s early 2000's Gospel. I listen to the mississippi mass choir, chicago mass choir... real Gospel music that glorify GOD, sings with scripture included in the lyrics, deliverance, encouragement, and healing.
I am constantly repeating songs from between 2-10 years ago! I have to go back to like 90s or 70s to get music that touches my heart- so this explains exactly why!

I can honestly say i hate the way gospel sounds and feels. It's lost is authenticity. We were to be set apart from the world and we keep blending into it. I miss hearing a song and feeling the anointing like the old days. I refuse to listen to mainstream gospel now.

The music industry has always been about money. It's a business, lets be real. Thank God not all musicians sell their souls to the devil. We have to be careful who we put our trust in. Let God guide you.
*Any* industry has always been about money. You want to build a school in Fiji? You need money. You want to feed the poor? You need money. You want to do environmental work? You need money. You want to pay your bills?? You need money. Not every artist in non-Christian industry are there for money. Where there are people who don't believe in Jesus, there *should* be Christians working in those places who are anointed by God to reach out to them so they may be healed by Jesus. The industry itself, be it Godly or Godless, has nothing to do with it. God will do His work be it in a church or in a music industry (gospel or not) or in an Internet forum or even a brothel, and He will send His well-chosen missionaries to such places. The truth is, God doesn't just establish a brand new industry - music or not - and put His label over it, and then wait for people to come work in it. He also invades other Godless industries and establish His Kingdom from within. That is Evangelism 101, for goodness's sake. "Go out and make disciples", not "Make a church and wait for disciples to come". So, I'm gonna pretend that Tye didn't make this rant i.e. this rant is non-existent. Because I can't take this seriously. He was emotional, I get that. I'm a working musician too. But he really should've prayed this over first. Because he just highlighted an ugly truth about imperfect humans in a world that unrealistically expects perfection from humans - *especially* Christians. And in doing so, he just opened a door for the world to freely take a jab at anyone who make any mistake, or even what appears to be a mistake. So much for being "wise as a serpent"; this is absolute foolishness. If Tye gets blasted for this - and I hope not - I won't be surprised in the slightest. There are people who work in industries, God-established or Godless or both, and they are trying to bring the peace of God into these places despite their imperfections, and Tye just allowed Satan to use his thoughtless outburst to royally screw them up. And while I respect Tye for standing his ground i.e. not making compromises, one really needs to ask this question: "What compromises are we talking about here?" I have to make compromises all the time in my line of work as a musician. Heck, I just volunteered for two weeks now in a University Outreach program our church just started. In the first week, we went to a university that strictly forbade us from advertising that we were from church, knowing full well we're from a local church. In previous years, we weren't even allowed to be on the compound! What, then? Are we going to make the compromises and not advertise ourselves as a church? Or are we just gonna blab our mouths open and advertise it anyway, and be banned from the university after finally being given a chance to subtly invite people to church on Sundays? For all ya people who read this, meditate on this please. If you wanna bring the peace of God into people's lives, you may have to make some compromises to your own style or way of doing things. Who knows, maybe God wants you to make those compromises (provided they're not sacrificing your worship and adoration of Him) because those compromises are *exactly* what God-worship means. And as a private music tutor working in a non-Christian music teaching business corporation teaching mostly non-Christian kids, don't tell me I don't know what I'm saying. Most of you don't know the first thing about the music industry, let alone what God's plans are for people in these places.

I am an African American women and I always felt that the Gospel music industry while honoring God was always in question. I never trust the industry personally myself most of them are sheeps in wolves clothing most of them behave just like the world. I mean got Kurt Franklin son telling on him and exposing his father to the world . ASCAP offered a deal with her, but were requiring her to mild out the message of Christ into merely good vibes and kindness. She refused, and I respect her for it. Thanks for your heart, Tye. I worked as a road manager in both gospel and secular music for 4 years in the early 2000's. The things I witnessed AND participated in would blow your mind. I never try to make myself available look innocent and throw people under the bus. But the gospel industry was THE DIRTIEST by far. I ended up leaving the church all together because of the things I witnessed. And we dealt with churches all over the country. Big and small.
I was much younger then. I was in a very low point in my life. After leaving gospel music industry and church my life became abundantly better. Today I have a beautiful, loving, PERSONAL with God. Priceless. BTW I worked with Ty a lot and he was one of the few that I can honestly say that I never seen or heard anything that goes against what he says he believes in.

Can anyone who is willing pray for my neighbor he’s been getting seizures nonstop and the doctor said they don’t know if he’ll make it. He is addicted to alcohol and has been trying lately. Some one gave him alcohol and tributes his epilepsy. My mom went and ministered to him and I believe he’s been willing to give his love to Jesus. While he was on the ground, barely responsive, no strength, couldn’t speak, move, and barely opened his eyes I was singing a song he always used to sing and he barely raised his head and faintly sang the line “amazing grace” and dropped his head. Right!! I listen to 80s, 90s early 2000's Gospel. I listen to the mississippi mass choir, chicago mass choir... real Gospel music that glorify GOD, sings with scripture included in the lyrics, deliverance, encouragement, and healing.
I am constantly repeating songs from between 2-10 years ago! I have to go back to like 90s or 70s to get music that touches my heart- so this explains exactly why!

I can honestly say i hate the way gospel sounds and feels. It's lost is authenticity. We were to be set apart from the world and we keep blending into it. I miss hearing a song and feeling the anointing like the old days. I refuse to listen to mainstream gospel now.

The music industry has always been about money. It's a business, lets be real. Thank God not all musicians sell their souls to the devil. We have to be careful who we put our trust in. Let God guide you.

*Any* industry has always been about money. You want to build a school in Fiji? You need money. You want to feed the poor? You need money. You want to do environmental work? You need money. You want to pay your bills?? You need money.
Not every artist in non-Christian industry are there for money. Where there are people who don't believe in Jesus, there *should* be Christians working in those places who are anointed by God to reach out to them so they may be healed by Jesus. The industry itself, be it Godly or Godless, has nothing to do with it. God will do His work be it in a church or in a music industry (gospel or not) or in an Internet forum or even a brothel, and He will send His well-chosen missionaries to such places. The truth is, God doesn't just establish a brand new industry - music or not - and put His label over it, and then wait for people to come work in it. He also invades other Godless industries and establish His Kingdom from within. That is Evangelism 101, for goodness's sake. "Go out and make disciples", not "Make a church and wait for disciples to come".
So, I'm gonna pretend that Tye didn't make this rant i.e. this rant is non-existent. Because I can't take this seriously. He was emotional, I get that. I'm a working musician too. But he really should've prayed this over first. Because he just highlighted an ugly truth about imperfect humans in a world that unrealistically expects perfection from humans - *especially* Christians. And in doing so, he just opened a door for the world to freely take a jab at anyone who make any mistake, or even what appears to be a mistake. So much for being "wise as a serpent"; this is absolute foolishness. If Tye gets blasted for this - and I hope not - I won't be surprised in the slightest. There are people who work in industries, God-established or Godless or both, and they are trying to bring the peace of God into these places despite their imperfections, and Tye just allowed Satan to use his thoughtless outburst to royally screw them up.
And while I respect Tye for standing his ground i.e. not making compromises, one really needs to ask this question: "What compromises are we talking about here?" I have to make compromises all the time in my line of work as a musician. Heck, I just volunteered for two weeks now in a University Outreach program our church just started. In the first week, we went to a university that strictly forbade us from advertising that we were from church, knowing full well we're from a local church. In previous years, we weren't even allowed to be on the compound! What, then? Are we going to make the compromises and not advertise ourselves as a church? Or are we just gonna blab our mouths open and advertise it anyway, and be banned from the university after finally being given a chance to subtly invite people to church on Sundays?
For all ya people who read this, meditate on this please. If you wanna bring the peace of God into people's lives, you may have to make some compromises to your own style or way of doing things. Who knows, maybe God wants you to make those compromises (provided they're not sacrificing your worship and adoration of Him) because those compromises are *exactly* what God-worship means. And as a private music tutor working in a non-Christian music teaching business corporation teaching mostly non-Christian kids, don't tell me I don't know what I'm saying. Most of you don't know the first thing about the music industry, let alone what God's plans are for people in these places.
Evn the bible warned us that our own brothers or sisters will be our enemies so yep your on point.

I am an African American women and I always felt that the Gospel music industry while honoring God was always in question. I never trust the industry personally myself most of them are sheeps in wolves clothing most of them behave just like the world. I mean got Kurt Franklin son telling on him and exposing his father to the world . Thanks th for exposing those Gospel music people once again and telling us the real deal and Thanks ty for not selling out and staying true to God.
