Rich people would send their kids to Tawaifs to learn about manners and culture, even in the show Qudsia tells Tqjdar to go to Heeramandi. They were upholder of Indian culture. Kathak, Urdu poetry and what not, all were brought into the modern times by these women. You think the Brits would have spared any of this culture and tradition if they had the chance? For them the world was better off being as bland as their own culture.

But the investment in the story of showing what happened during the British raj India, takes guts, effort and yes commitment. This is so going on my favorite list!
