I enjoyed this video very much. Both the day in the life parts and your thoughts at the end. I enjoy TH-cam far more than any other social media. Mostly because so far it is completely open and it feels like you can still find real, genuine people on here, sharing normal lives and thoughts (rather than people who are there to 'influence' and make money and show only a certain, filtered thing). I've been so upset about Instagram no longer letting me see everything by everyone, but only 'popular' accounts. This funneling of social media culture into only the monetised and popular feels really alarming. TH-cam continues (hopefully) to be open and searchable for a whole myriad of humans sharing their experiences. I have to say that cutting down social media has become a lot easier over the past few years anyway since so much of it is just advertising. Glad you went with your gut for the illustration job 😊 and thanks for sharing!

I'm an illustrator and I've been off social media since February this year and I was always worried that not having a social media presence would harm my chances of finding work. Seeing how not being on social media gives you more time to be with yourself and build your habits was very reassuring. Even if not having an Instagram to show off might not be ideal for clients, it's ideal for my life and wellbeing.
That's great! I'm in a phase right now where it's a little hard to balance social media and life again but... reading this gives me encouragement to focus on what's important. And to your point about Instagram helping to find clients... I doubt it is helpful in that regard for the most of us.
