    I believe that the 1658 law about "beating a Swede with a stick" only applies to Swedes crossing the ice, so it doesn't apply to Swedes crossing over by boat or bridge (but I'll have to check up on that).

      Yeah! You can't win em all 🙄! We just have to accept that we can't just hit any Swede with a Stick..! We'll adjust - eventually 🙄 !

      @@niclasl2809 It actually does. The law is still in affect in Denmark. If you, as a Swede, cross "Øresund" (on the ice). We get to beet you with af stick. Now. Of course we wouldn't! Lesser Swedes in Copenhagen, means lesser income to Carlsberg. We're not THAT stupid 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Great video, I knew that law no. 5 was in effect in Sweden, didn't know it was also the case here in Denmark. But it makes sense.
    The third law about beating Swedes with sticks, I've always been told that it specifies that the Swede has to have crossed the frozen-over Øresund for this law to be in effect. Hmm. Maybe it's just implied. Only one way to find out I guess >:)

    • @larsrons7937
      @larsrons7937 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe that law applies to Swedes crossing over the ice anywhere in Denmark, but they have to cross over the ice. Swedes on land or using boat or bridge don't count. But I wouldn't go ice skating if I was a Swede in Denmark.

      Mig bekendt gælder den 1658 lov kun svenskere, som går over isen. Altså hverken de, som bruger bro eller båd, eller er på land. Men svenskere på besøg i Danmark bør nok holde sig fra at løbe på skøjter.

    You may as well try to escape prison, but you are normally caught again. So on the other hand: why bother?
    And also I do think you might not get more years onto your sentence, for trying to escape, but I do think you will get less freedoms, after trying to escape. Like you get moved to a place with more security, and less benefits/freedoms, because you are considered "more dangerous". I can't claim to know this for sure(!!), but I definitely think that's it's a safe bet that that would happen!

  • @Gert-DK
    @Gert-DK ปีที่แล้ว

    The escape from prison law has been changed, you will now get additional time. But in the new law they forgot electronic jail. A man won at supreme court. He discarded he's electronic foot chain, but was not convicted for that.

  • @klausolekristiansen2960
    @klausolekristiansen2960 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is no additional sentence for escaping prison, but it will affect your chance of getting parole. And assisting an escape from prison is a crime.

    Another strange law in Denmark is that you cannot name your child anything that is outside the "approved list" of names.

    • @niclasl2809
      @niclasl2809 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a completely reasonable law even though some of the requests that got approved does make wonder how low the standard is

    • @mikeyb2932
      @mikeyb2932 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can however request names being added to the list.
      From another video on TH-cam it seems there are more than 25K female names and more than 21K male names on the list and in addition also more than 1K names that can be used for both female and male.

    I learned a lot here even being danish. But firing a rocket into space or just some of the way is illegal in most countries. You need to make an application to be allowed to do that. The reason is that the authorities needs to clear the airspace before you fire your rocket. It is not nice if you hit a commercial airplane with 300 passengers with your homebuild rocket ;)

    Maybe it's not so weird, but the fact that any treasure you find, is automatically the state's property, is a little weird at first, because you found it. But it's also necessary to prevent a flurry of unnecessary digging and I do believe you can apply for some percentage of the find today. That wasn't always the case..

    So you got 2 false laws in this video. I don't like misinformation, so maybe just search for the law before making a video about them.
    For the 1st "law", I can't find any documentions mentioning this law, it might just be my search results being inadequet. However, if someone has a reference (other than random websites), then please tell me. Maybe it is a possible stabbing tool? but why specify the public transport?
    For the 2nd law, I think this is the only one you got correct even if it isnt an enforced law.
    For the 3rd "law", this is false, such a law has never existed. It is an often spread internet rumour, experts has said that they have never heard of it and they can't find any mention of it in the archieves. It is correct, that if it did exist, then newer law would take precedence. So why mention this in weird law, when it isnt even relevant anymore? It should maybe have been a history fact.
    For the 4th law; I believe in most countries you are not allowed to launch a rocket into space. I don't know why it would be weird? You would have to launch it into Danish Airspace to get to space. You don't know the flight paths of different planes, so you could hit and cause an accident. Please clarify how this is seem as a "weird" law.
    For the 5th one. You are not allowed to escape from prison, you do infact get added more time to your sentence. I think you though of germany, where I heard internet rumour of it being like that. But in Denmark you do get a longer sentence.
    For the bonus law, where did you hear of this? I again can't find any information of this. I can only find a law saying to get a fishing permit, you have to had Danish citizenship for 2 years. No mention of beaches.
    In the future, please fact check your content.
