Absolutely every song on their album rocks! Song of Woman, Shireg Shireg, and especially Wolf Totem have me ready to jump on a horse and follow those Mongolians into battle!
Also, they're INCREDIBLE live. I haven't been this geeked out over a band before in my almost 50 years of living.

the first time I saw one of their videos was about a year ago...have to say I was blown away by the fusion of traditional Mongolian instruments and heavy metal and traditional Mongolian "throat singing" alongside the fantastic imagery! ...and yes, they are true to the story of Ghengis Khan! well done Jamal! thank you for featuring them...they are a force to be reckoned with! ☮️

THE HU!!! These guys are spectacular. The love of their heritage blended with throat singing and metal makes music nobody knew they had to have until they listened to them.
React to Wolf Totem by THE HU. That was the first song I ever heard from them. That song will make you wanna plunder a suburb near you for no reason.

Yes!!!! I fcking love The Hu. The first song I heard from them was Yuve Yuve Yu, and it’s really cool. You should totally listen to that song. I love that they use traditional instruments and do the Mongolian throat singing to produce music that’s not just cool but feels different and fresh. Something about taking ancient music and mixing them modern music creates something better then the two apart. At least to my ear it sounds better then it’s separate parts.

The lyrics didn't pay justice to the story, simply because there's so much to say about The truly Great Chinggis Khaan.
I've been studying history like nobody else in Italy, when I was a 15-16 yo student, because I went way further than the actual programme of History and I studied all on my own about all the greatest civilizations and Nations in history {Americas, Africa, China and Japan in particular} so I've learned about Chinggis Khaan and The Blue Empire of Mongols that early starting immediately to feel a profound and utter fascination and admiration for this brilliant man who lived a life so unique that made his name resonate so powerfully alike Legend.
What he has done remains in history of mankind like one of the greatest achievements a man of power can aspire to.
Just to help you figure out what the hell I'm talking about just have a look at the comparison table on this link: brilliantmaps.com/roman-vs-mongol-empires/
Just like Alexander The Great, or even Napoleon {the less "legendary" of the three, in my opinion... he was the one with less spiritual depth than the other two and in my very personal Top 3 he's very lower in that special podium}. All these were military geniuses who literally dominated the world they knew about, and like nobody else they have crossed history and what they brought together suddenly vanished as soon as they departed from this earth and the world they united all by the power of their own personal strength and aura went rapidly lost splintered into the hands of sons, or Generals like in Alexander's case, which clearly were just simple men with not that strive for true greatness.
I have a particular preference for the King of Mongols for three main reasons:
    • the first, the most immediate one, caused by that special vibe so hard to describe is the similarity with another people I loved, the Native Americans... just check out what I'm talking about and you will understand and agree.
    • the second, the most mental one, because he and his reign are an unicum in history... he crossed history like a meteor, a maverick whose achievements have never been reached by any other man, when still a man alone, a man of real charisma could ever unite and keep united in his own life.
We are talking of men not driven to achieve and exercise power going blinded by that same power {Adolf Hitler is the perfect example of that, he aspired to greatness but he was a zero as human being and we all know very well why we can say that very loud and clear!} but just driven by power, that inner strive to make a vision, a dream, come true. Something only very special human beings do.
Mongolia never had anything comparable to what Chinggis Khaan did for his own Nation ever again, in its own whole history and that's what makes him so very special, so unique.
Here comes the third of the reasons why he is like a Top of the Top, for me, even more than Alexander The Great. Chinggis Khaan gave no sign of madness during his own life, as far as I know, and that counts a lot. His vision was lucid and driven not by something, in some peculiar aspects, very personal {Alexander was, he was blinded by his own vision at some point, which made him weak and caused his death and the destruction of his own dream, betrayed by those which more than any others followed his charismatic lead}, but driven by the will to make Mongolia achieve a position of leadership of his own people, his own Nation.... Mongols were reasonably feared by other Nations and their people.
THE HU is my very personal 1st choice as Best New Entry in music Olympus, a true surprise and very special discovery. The fact that they are trying to remind us about the most charismatic and unique of all the greatest leaders in mankind history. They deliver solid music, innovation {their instruments are absolutely awesome and badass as fuck!} and most importantly... pride. You're absolutely right Jamel... we don't mess with The Hu!!!
PS: I absolutely love this reaction and I hope to watch more coming!

Yoo fam that's some dedicated research and effort. I'm a Mongolian and proud to be one. It's always good to see people from different culture and blood give a total credit to what Mongolian Empire has done. You see history is a really complicated affair so I wouldn't want to dwell into it. Anyway I'm babbling enjoy the music..

They put everyone outside of Mongolia to shame with their level of reenactment, but then it is their history so they should, like folks in other countries who reenact history or events of history should have the details right. That said we are talking about a nation that at one time held an empire that was among if not the largest the ancient world knew, rather impressive and not all lands were conquered many just submitted rather than face blood shed. I will not go into details or argue them not here, your page your stuff, just keep having fun.

Oh yeah, The HU are brilliant at what they do! They have a profound Groove in every song of theirs, and not in the silly, overdone, Silly Peppers sense of "groove", I mean that feeling that makes you bob your head uncontrollably in time with each song because it's innate and it forces you to pay attention whether you want to or not. It's commanding and they make it *work* whether you understand the words or not. I'm pretty sure the lyrics here are directly from the album, as well (they're printed in both Cyrillic/Russian script and English). I do believe I need to subscribe, because your videos are fun, @Jamel_AKA_Jamal!

Bro, you are like one of few music reaction dudes that has actually took the time to review these dudes. I've been asking reviewers to hit these guys up. They haven't. Good on you. Glad you see the light on these dudes. First time I heard Wolf Totem, it was their only release and this was my most anticipated release when this was released. The whole release is excellent. I had tix to see these dudes live and two days before the show, everything was canceled due to Covid. They sell out everywhere..

Very heavy. Love these guys. The throat singing sounds so unusual but I dig it. Been listening to a lot their songs and they kick ass. It’s really nice to hear something out of the norm. Hope you do some more hu.

Highly recommend catching the Netflix series called Marco Polo. It's about Kublai Khan (Genghis Khan's grandson) and the Mongolian and Chinese court intrigues. Fascinating and a terrific performance by Benedict Wong. Really awesome performance.

WOW! I just learned of The Hu last Sunday from my go-to, online preacher, Charlie Garrett, from his channel, The Superior Word, even if you’re not interested in anything God or His Word (the Bible) or The Coming Tribulation/End Times, you’d still love this guy! Most down to earth, keeping it real speaker of truth out there. I wholly recommend you check out his TH-cam channel. Anyway, Charlie raved about The Hu and from the minute I listened to the first song, I wound up playing all their videos and buying most of their music on iTunes. My favorite is definitely Wolf Totem.

You should all search "tuvan throat singing" on here. The first result should have that exact title (uploaded by Tonio Delafuente). It's more traditional throat singing, but it's absolutely beautiful.

If you want more in the same kind of area, check out Wardruna (the main guy does all the music for the Vikings show), and also check out Heilung. Heilung in particular is a great one to do a reaction to, trust me. I would suggest the songs In Maidjan, Alfadhirhaiti, or Hamrer Hippyer, and MAKE SURE you do the live version, beause the show is a HUUUUGE part of their schtick.
