At first I was hesitant to react to things I"d already seen, but I had viewers ask me to do it anyway; so I did! Now I often will watch something a time or two before reacting because my videos share my knowledge of elements rather than Oooo-ing, ah-ing and surprise. I think that would work well for you too, because you could explain moves, difficulty, and feeling. I really think your viewers would appreciate it. I sure would! :-)
@@erickagoss6057 Yes, I'd be really interested in an analysis rather than reaction of BTS's dancing so no problems even if you've seen it before. I am fascinated when people can explain when a move is relatively easy or hard. What to look out for etc. I read on a blog from a dancer about how Jimin's line are always beautiful, you can pause the screen at any point and he looks great and you can compare him to the background or even over members and sometimes they just don't quite have the same lines. (FYI I'm a Jin bias and I don't think that Jimin is necessarily the 'best' dancer in BTS as I think that they all have their amazing qualities and it's your personal opinion who you vibe with more)

You should have shown your friend the other lives for this song. They are all great but different. For this one they really made some changes and made the choreo more difficult. I made an entire thread on twitter dedicated to how their performance goes hand in hand with Swan Lake! The moves, the background dancers, the water all portrays the story of the original ballet. It literally tells the story of the black swan. 😊

It's interesting that she pointed out that she was waiting to see a girl in the video. I know nothing about dance, and I've seen Jimin lifted in bts choreography before and have never thought twice about it.
My daughter has danced since she was 6 and is dancing in college. I make her react to Jimin dancing all the time. 😂 getting validation. I love when trained dancers react, it’s awesome.

True but he's been carrying jimin ever since no more dream dance break(he was legit a minor) he's known for being most strongest member, jimin may seen small but he is muscular and buff lol
@@cutiebee3225 Yeah, JK is very strong, and it’s quite possible that he could do a lift where Jimin’s entire body is in the air over JK’s head, with JK’s arms straight up, but it would be difficult, and would probably be bad for his back. He doesn’t do that sort of thing very much. (The No More Dream move doesn’t compare at all). I’ve noticed JK has bulked up a bit more lately, probably in preparation for Awards Season and for doing the Black Swan lift. He was fit, but really quite slim at the end of last summer. I mentioned Jimin being muscled too because even though he isn’t tall, he’s still a man, and is likely to be heavier than most Ballerinas. He’s 5’9” after all.
@@liberator6 Jimin only weighs 130 pounds (really no weight at all really, he’s muscular but it’s all very compact. He’s pretty small for a guy, despite his being 5’9) but it would still be pretty dangerous to attempt with Jk not being trained.

Having said all that, I think it's worth bearing in mind that the supposed recorded heights and weights of Idols are nearly always exaggerated in one direction or the other. Its a very exacting industry, and Idols are unfortunately made to feel very self-conscious about how tall they are, and how much they weigh, so the numbers you see on various sites cannot always be relied upon. Surprisingly, 5'9'' is the current average height for men in both the US and Korea. The difference is, that the average American man is 190 lbs., while the average Korean man, (both at 5'9") is 150 lbs. So Jimin is actually average height, but although I'm sure he is lighter than the average Korean man, I'm not sure he'd be lighter by quite that much. In any case, whether he's 130 lbs. or somewhat heavier, he's still going to be larger and heavier than almost any female ballet dancer.
You girls are adorable!! It's great to hear your perspective as trained classical dancers. I studied dance for 8 years when I was young (50 yrs. ago. Yikes!!), never danced professionally, but that little bit of knowledge helps me to appreciate professional dance that much more. I noticed their hands and arms in this performance as well! Your comments improve my knowledge even more! I feel like these guys are never afraid to try new things and then practice like crazy to present something as exquisite as this performance. Hi ladies, I am a retired nurse that has body issues myself but for opposite reasons. I have struggled with it since I had my daughter. Just remember that you both are beautiful just as you are. There is a saying that BTS and ARMYS find you when you need them the most. It is so true. I found them almost 4 yrs ago. They have helped me to accept myself with all my imperfections. don't get me wrong i love them so much but the lift was edited. if you watch the video on the bangtan channel instead of the MMA channel you can see where jungkook fumbles jimin right before the lift. they cut it out/ the slow down made it so you couldnt notice
no actually the one on bangtantv was a entirely different take. you can tell even if they slowed it down (in the official) it was much smoother when jimin was getting lifted there wasn’t that hop he did nor was he hesitating in the bangtantv recording that’s how yk it’s a different take

Unfortunately there were a couple large accounts on Twitter that were "dissecting" the movement and using that terminology 😅 But it is indeed a pas de deux, quite literally a dance for two. I've seen many of my male dancer friends also do a pas de deux with each other 🥰
This is the first video of yours I've seen. It was enjoyable. While you did touch briefly on the technicality of this particular performance, I appreciated the fact you were able to sit back and enjoy it. You mentioned people getting into discussions about this choreography, especially the lift. I've known a few people who've studied ballet since childhood, then progressed into professional careers. Most people (IMHO) have absolutely no idea how grueling, and how much sacrifice it takes, to have a calling as a professional ballet dancer. I use the term calling intentionally. I've seen threads where people get into heated discussions about minutiae. I want to tell them BTS are not presuming to be professional ballet dancers (Yes. Jimin did study dance and go to a PA high school, but he also studied martial arts and other things). You simply cannot view it in that manner, if your intent is to understand and enjoy them (though, of course, I support their right to free speech in dissecting the dancing of others). A vast amount of what BTS does pays homage to different influences, while exploring and expanding on their own creativity.💜

I didn't see anyone one refer to it as press-lift... o_O I just saw a lot of "pas de deux".
Unfortunately there were a couple large accounts on Twitter that were "dissecting" the movement and using that terminology 😅
But it is indeed a pas de deux, quite literally a dance for two. I've seen many of my male dancer friends also do a pas de deux with each other 🥰

This is the first video of yours I've seen. It was enjoyable. While you did touch briefly on the technicality of this particular performance, I appreciated the fact you were able to sit back and enjoy it. You mentioned people getting into discussions about this choreography, especially the lift. I've known a few people who've studied ballet since childhood, then progressed into professional careers. Most people (IMHO) have absolutely no idea how grueling, and how much sacrifice it takes, to have a calling as a professional ballet dancer. I use the term calling intentionally. I've seen threads where people get into heated discussions about minutiae. I want to tell them BTS are not presuming to be professional ballet dancers (Yes. Jimin did study dance and go to a PA high school, but he also studied martial arts and other things). You simply cannot view it in that manner, if your intent is to understand and enjoy them (though, of course, I support their right to free speech in dissecting the dancing of others). A vast amount of what BTS does pays homage to different influences, while exploring and expanding on their own creativity.💜
